Chapter 04

Xavier's - [P.O.V]

I didn't waste any second as everyone started to run away, a brick was about falliyon her and I quickly ran to push her out, but there was no time to think properly so I shielded her with my body, luckily no serious damage was done.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I stood up and was helping her get up.

"Well, I am, thanks to you, You saved my life!" The girl said.

"Don't mention." I said softly as I stared into her bright brown eyes and she stared back into mine.

"Oh Serena!." Mr. Bernardino shouted as he ran to hug her. So her name was Serena. "Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine grandpa...Thanks to him he saved my life"

" Oh Mr. stage...are you alright?" He asked.

"I'm good sir"

"Thank you...thank you so much for saving my daughter's life" (He called Serena his daughter even if he's her grandfather".

"Really sir...it was nothing".

"Nothing?...you could have died...that was the biggest act of bravery I have ever witnessed... For that I am bound to reward you...tell me Mr Stage, what do you want?"

"Really sir I don't want anything... it's fine"

"But I want something for you...I want you to be my son-in-law....you are single aren't you?"

I was suddenly speechless, that was quite unexpected.

"Well...of course sir but.."

"Then that's settled I shall give you My daughter here to be your bride"

Serena didn't look so fazed even if she was, did that mean she wanted it too.

I looked at her and she looked at me.

"Well what do you say Serena?, I know he's just a construction boy, but.."

"I accept" she said happily. "I have never met anyone, in my entire life who is willing to risk theirs for me" she said coming closer to me. "If there's a gift better than that, then I'm really curious "

I was fazed, did she really want this, she didn't even know me well.

"Then that's it..I demand Both of you leave here and just take a walk around, get to know each other, you will be married as soon as possible.

Well if anyone had told me getting a rich sassy heiress to love you was that easy, I think I would have married a long time ago.

But for some reason i really liked Serena I wasn't sure if it was because of her beauty but I really did.

We took a walk and we got to know each other a little more, I was falling deeper for her, she seemed to be the extrovert type, while I was an introvert, and it was fine.

Soon about a few weeks later, We went on our first date and it was magical.

She was a really fun and outgoing person, she was really fun too and we became closer and closer until we were both even hungry for marriage.

She had a beautiful dream of becoming her own woman, not just a woman under the Bernardino family who had a great name all across the country, she wanted to live a simple life.

She was able to look past my terrible situation but this was only the beginning, this was where I started to think about executing my plan for revenge against Mr Suwanee. That didn't mean I didn't love Serena, I did but luckily it came with a benefit.

Two months later we were married and our marriage had already gone far into a year when I was ready to start executing a part of my plan.

First I would get a full education, I would complete my masters in industrial relations and law, so I would be able to crush Mr Suwanee from the very top and ruin him miserably.

I told my wife and my grandfather in-law about it, my plans to further my education and they were in support.

My mother-in-law didn't like me one bit, but it wasn't a problem since her daughter loved me, her son my brother in-law, Nathan, did, my grandfather in-law did, so I had full support.

The day had finally come for me leave, I would go to my home town in Winchester to study, it would be better since I would be comfortable there.

Although my wife suddenly didn't want me to go I managed to persuade her, I would miss her dearly and I knew she would miss me too.

"I promise I'll come visit on holidays okay? And when I'm back for good, we'll make a baby." I said holding her really close with both my hands holding her face.

She smiled as she sniffed "Do make sure you call okay?" She was holding back her tears.

"I will my love." I said softly as I closed my eyes and gave her a soft kiss on her juicy lips.

Now all of a sudden I didn't feel like it. But I still had to go, I would missy family a lot.

"Beep beep" went the car waiting for me.

I turned and gave Serena one last kiss, hugged Mr Bernardino and Nathan, my mother-in-law wasn't there. I finished with them and went to the car and just like that I was off.

"Ugh...sir you shouldn't..." I tried to warn him.

"Shut up you imbecile you know nothing " He said as he came to me.

"Alright, Mr. Stage???"

"Yes sir" I replied humbly.

"Are you sure about what you're saying?...the layout of this building is weak?" Mr Bernardino asked me and for some reason I trembled a bit.

"Ye..yes sir".

"Hmm.." He said as he looked at the building. "Well..." He wanted to continue.

"But grandpa it actually doesn't look that bad" His granddaughter said as she also went over and started to kick the building too.

"Don't mind him, he's an idiot..." The manager said with a scoff.

I ignored the manager and looked at Mr Bernardino, but my eyes quickly left him as I noticed the building cracking from bottom to top, and the girl was still really close.

One brick had fallen...it would guess worse.

"LOOK OUT!!' I screamed but she seemed slow.

The entire building was crashing down.

"Aaahhhh" everyone screamed.
