6 ~ Betrayal, Pains, and Divorced

CHAPTER 6

With so much on his mind, Benjamin  ran back home in haste. His mind was overpowered with the thought that his wife had known about the Brian Tumor Medical Certificate. 

Although he doesn't want his wife to know about his illness, as nature would have it, he left the medical certificate on the table and unfortunately, his wife found it. 

On the other hand, he was kind of happy. He hoped his wife treated him with care and respect. Her sassy attitude might stop, and she might show affection towards him.  At the thought of this, he was excited. 

“I hope my wife's attitude changes to that of a better one!" He mumbled to himself as he walked faster to his apartment. 

With the information of the ring that had been revealed to him, the healing power, the martial art skills, and many more. 

He knew the Healing Power could heal his injuries and disease, so he was not afraid of the Brain Tumor. 

He had given his hundred percent trust on the healing power, and his Brain Tumor and also, he was also seeing some changes in his body. 

His once weak body has become stronger, and the sharp pain he always felt on his head wasn't longer there. 

So why shouldn't he trust the healing power? 

With so much happiness on his face, he decided to share the good news to her and assured her he wasn't dying  any time soon. 

After getting to his apartment, without failing to exhale, he pushed the door open, and what greeted him was a cold glare from his wife. 

He gulped down nervously and entered the room. Gabriella, his wife, was sitting down on the couch with a hard and icy expression on her face. 

Not knowing what to do, Benjamin  mumbled in a low tone, “I'm back home!" The words came out more like a whisper. 

Meanwhile, Gabriella was boiling in rage, and cursing inwardly. Noticing how close Benjamin  was to her, she stood up on her feet, and picked up a paper from the table. 

It was the Brain Tumor Medical Certificate. 

Benjamin  sighed in exasperation, and tried to explain. He stuttered, “I.. I.. I.. can explain, Gabby! I just discover about the Brian Tumor yesterday.`` 

Gabriella scoffed rudely, “Oh really!" She pouted her lips, “And You don't bother to tell me about it, Benjamin ! Are you really serious about this? You had a terrible disease! A Brain Tumor! And you think your wife shouldn't know about it, wow! Really!" Her voice was laced with contempt, and she was glaring contemptuously at Benjamin . 

Benjamin  tried to defend himself, saying, “You didn't give me the opportunity to explain myself! You shouted at me, and sent me out yesterday. How should I have told you about it?" 

“Oh really! You are fired from your workplace and discovered you are suffering from Tumor at the same time.” She smiled wickedly, ‘‘Don’t you see how unfortunate you are? Two effing bad news on the same day! Nah, that's terrible, Benjamin ! You are truly a bad omen, and everyone needs to run away whenever they set their eyes on you!” 

Stupefied, Benjamin  couldn't believe everything his wife had just sputtered out. Her terrible and wicked words had pierced his heart into pieces. 

He had thought his wife, Gabriella would change her perception and attitude towards him as she comes to know about the Brain Tumor Medical Certificate but it didn't seem so and everything got even worse. 

He was dumbfounded as he couldn't say anything to her. Only he could clenched his fists angrily and watched her insult him.  

As for Gabriella, she sneered rudely and picked another stack of papers from the table, and threw them at his face. 

“I need your signature on the papers!" With that, she sat back on the couch arrogantly. 

Benjamin  picked up the papers, and glanced at it. Shortly, a shock expression was displayed on his face. It was really A Divorce Paper. 

“W.. wha.. what I.. is…” He couldn't say anything as he didn't believe his wife could ever divorce him. “What is this, Gaby? Why did you issue a divorce?" His voice was trembling, and couldn't help but his countenance changed drastically. 

Gabriella snarled, “Why won't I? You don't have money to take care of me and now, you are diagnosed with Brain Tumor. Don't you think my life would be ruined, I can't suffer and it's better I divorce you before you die.” She didn't care about how harsh her words were, she blurted out nonchalantly. 

“What? But I satisfied you with all I have! I showered you with love and affection, my wages and salaries are given to you. You never work, all you do is stay at home, sleep and enjoy! 

Now, you don't want me anymore because I'm suffering from a terrible disease. Is that how ungrateful you are, Gaby?” Benjamin  spoke out disparagingly, his voice was laced with rage and contempt. 

Gabriella chuckled coldly, “Love and affection? Enjoying my life? Where are my cars? Where are the designer clothes? Where are the luxurious mansions? None, Benjamin ! You've not provided all these to me, and you expected me not to divorce you. You are about to leave the world, and you didn't expect me to be a widow…did you?" 

Benjamin  felt sad, angry and disappointed. Knowing the reason she had requested this divorce was because of his tumor, he then asked her. 

“What if I'm not suffering from the Brain Tumor? What if I'm heal, would you still divorce me?" 

His wife sneered and said, “Benjamin , do you really think I'm a fool? Who are you trying to deceive? You are trying to lie to me, right? Well, it won't work. It's impossible  to recover from a Brain Tumor so soon and you have to spend lots of money to cure the disease, where would you see it? There is even no sign of surgery on your head, so give me some slack, Benjamin .”

She continued, saying, “Also, I won't allow you to use a penny to heal the disease before we get divorced.  Go ahead, you should sign the Divorce Papers!” 

 “It's really shameful! I'm going to sign the papers, and I hope you don't regret this in the future, Gabriella!"

Benjamin  felt it was so ridiculous, he signed the divorce agreement without any hesitation
