Dan arrived at the lobby of Harrington Financial Center.
The moment he stepped out of the cab, he felt as if he had entered another world. Outside the building, the parking lot was packed with luxury cars. Men and women in tailored suits walked in and out with confident strides, their watches gleaming, their leather shoes spotless. Compared with them, Dan, in his worn-out clothes, looked completely out of place. Before he could even reach the front desk, a young receptionist in a fitted black business suit looked up and frowned. “Hey, you!” she said sharply. “Delivery boys aren’t allowed past the lobby.” Dan’s brows tightened. “I’m not here to deliver pizza.” “Then what are you here for?” she asked coldly. “This isn’t the kind of place where a pizza boy can just wander around.” “I’m here to see someone,” Dan said. The receptionist stared at him for a second, then let out a short laugh. “See someone?” Her voice was full of mockery. “Everyone who works in this building is extremely important. Do you really think anyone here would want to meet a pizza boy like you?” Dan was not in the mood to argue with her. Right now, all he wanted was to find out what exactly was going on with the ten million in his account. Ignoring the receptionist, he walked straight toward the elevators. The receptionist’s expression changed. She quickly rushed out from behind the front desk and blocked his way. “Hey! What do you think you’re doing? Stop right there, or I’ll call security and have you thrown out!” Ding! Just then, the elevator doors opened. Seeing the receptionist coming after him, Dan hurried inside. But the next second, a sharp cry rang out from inside the elevator. Dan had been so focused on getting away that he did not notice someone was stepping out. He crashed straight into her. “What's your problem? Are you blind?” a woman snapped. Dan looked up and froze. Standing in front of him was a tall woman with wavy red hair. She wore a tight blouse and an extremely short skirt, with black stockings wrapped around her long legs and high heels on her feet. Her figure was curvy and striking, and even with anger written all over her pretty face, she was still undeniably attractive. But at that moment, all Dan could notice was the coffee spilled across the front of her blouse. The dark stain spread quickly over the expensive fabric, making the woman’s expression twist with fury. “Where are the security guards? How could they let someone like you into this building?” “I’m sorry. I was in a hurry…” In a panic, Dan grabbed a few tissues from the stand beside the elevator and instinctively tried to help her wipe off the coffee. But the moment Dan’s hand touched her blouse, that woman screamed again, “Help! Pervert!” Several security guards immediately rushed over. “I didn’t mean to—” Dan had no time to explain. Panicking, he pushed past the woman, rushed into the elevator, and pressed the button for the twenty-seventh floor. By the time the guards reached the elevator, the doors had already closed. “What happened, Miss Lind?” the security captain asked. “A pizza boy came out of nowhere and assaulted me!” Miss Lind screamed, her eyes turning watery with rage. “Why are you still standing there? Go after him! I want him sent to the police! ” “But…” The security captain looked troubled. “But what?” Miss Lind snapped. The captain glanced at the elevator and said helplessly, “He went up to the twenty-seventh floor. That’s Mr. Gosling’s private office. We were given strict orders that no one is allowed up there without permission.” Miss Lind fell silent for a moment. Then she gritted her teeth and said, “Fine. Then block every exit in the building. That bastard has to come down sooner or later!” Inside the elevator, Dan looked down at his right hand and sighed. He had definitely gotten himself into trouble. But right now, he had no time to worry about that woman. The only thing on his mind was the ten million dollars that had suddenly appeared in his account. A short while later, the elevator stopped on the twenty-seventh floor. Dan stepped out and immediately realized that the entire floor had been turned into one enormous luxury office. The office had floor-to-ceiling windows, giving a perfect view of Harkins City below. From this height, the entire city seemed to stretch endlessly beneath his feet. A middle-aged man in a black suit was waiting inside. As soon as he saw Dan, he quickly stood up and walked over. “Mr. Bridgers, you’re here.”His tone was respectful. “So you’re the one who called me?” Dan asked, still wary. “That’s correct, Mr. Bridgers.” The man smiled politely. “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chris Hauser, and I am the general manager of Harrington Group.” “Nice to meet you, Mr. Hauser.”Dan nodded, “So what was that about on the phone? You said something about an inheritance?” “Mr. Bridgers, do you remember an old man named Bill Gosling?” Chris asked gently. “You saved him ten years ago.” “Old man Bill?” Dan was stunned. After a few seconds, a vague memory slowly surfaced in his mind. When he was younger, he had indeed saved an old man once. But it had been so many years ago that he had almost forgotten about it, let alone the man’s name. “Mr. Bridgers, please allow me to explain,” Chris said slowly. “That old man, Bill Gosling, was the president of Harrington Group.” Dan’s eyes widened slightly. Chris continued, “Mr. Gosling passed away three days ago. Before his death, he left behind a will. He had no children, so he entrusted all of his assets to you.”Latest Chapter

Just as Ed was about to call the police, a voice suddenly interrupted him.“Excuse me, sir.”Everyone turned. The sales assistant who had been standing nearby finally stepped forward. There was a cautious look on her face as she approached Ed with the invoice in hand.“We will be closing soon,” she said politely. “May I ask how you would like to settle your order?”Her words fell like a hammer.Ed froze.Only then did he remember that he had ordered the exact same set as Dan.He stiffly took the invoice from the sales assistant. The moment his eyes landed on the total, his face changed.“Sixty… sixty thousand dollars?” His voice almost cracked.A chill ran down his spine. He only had the ten thousand dollars he had withdrawn earlier. There were a few thousand more on his card, but even all of it together was nowhere near sixty thousand. He looked up at the sales assistant, his lips twitching.“Did you make a mistake? How can a few pieces of clothing cost sixty thousand dollars?”The s

Dan remained completely unmoved by Caroline’s accusations. He simply glanced at the sales assistant beside him and said calmly, “Please pack this suit for me.”The sales assistant immediately nodded. “Yes, sir.”Then she turned to Caroline and the others. Her polite smile faded slightly, and her tone grew noticeably colder.“Ladies and gentlemen, if you’re here to shop, we’ll be happy to assist you. If not, please don’t disturb our other clients.”“You…” Caroline was so furious that her chest rose and fell sharply. She could not understand it.Just that morning, Dan had still been the broke pizza boy she had abandoned. He had been dirty, poor, and miserable. But now, only a few hours later, he was standing inside Valmont Couture, calmly trying on a suit that cost more than what most people made in months, or even years. What made her even angrier was that Dan barely looked at her.He simply adjusted his cuff in front of the mirror and said casually, “Caroline, this place clearly isn’t

Outside Zenith Bank, Dan stood facing Caroline and Ed.Caroline clung tightly to Ed’s arm, her face full of disdain. There was no trace of the warmth she had once shown Dan.Standing behind them was another person Dan recognized—Lucas Cameron, Caroline’s gay best friend.“Dan, heartbreak happens,” Lucas said awkwardly, as if trying to comfort him. “Don’t take it too hard.”He knew better than anyone how much Dan had given to that relationship, both emotionally and financially.“I’m fine,” Dan said with a faint smile. His calmness surprised everyone. What they did not know was that Dan was no longer the poor man Caroline had abandoned. He was now a trillionaire. When Caroline eventually found out the truth, would she regret what she had done?Dan did not bother explaining. Instead, he glanced at the three of them and asked, “What are you all doing at Zenith Bank?”“What else would we be doing at a bank?” Ed sneered. “Withdrawing money. What did you think? That we came here to deliver p

The moment Miss Lind saw him, fury flashed in her eyes. “You actually came back, you low-life scumbag!” Dan recognized her at once. She was the woman he had accidentally bumped into earlier. “That’s him!” the receptionist immediately cried out, pointing at Dan. “He’s just a pizza boy, but he still had the nerve to harass Miss Lind! He’s clearly asking for trouble!” Dan frowned. “It was an accident,” he said evenly. “I already apologized. And if necessary, I can apologize again.” Inde let out a cold laugh. Her gaze swept over his shabby clothes, her contempt barely concealed. “Apologize?” she sneered. “Do you think an apology is enough? A filthy man like you touched me. Just thinking about it makes me sick. You have to pay for that.” Dan’s expression darkened. At this point, this was no longer about the accident. She simply wanted to humiliate him. “Move,” Dan said coldly. “I’m leaving.” “Leaving?” Inde stepped directly in front of him and sneered. “Do you really think you

“I’m the only heir?” Dan stared at Chris in disbelief. For a moment, he thought he had misheard him. Something this absurd only happened in TV dramas. How could it possibly happen to him?“Yes, Mr. Bridgers,” Chris said calmly. “Allow me to give you a brief introduction to the assets Mr. Gosling left behind.”As he spoke, Chris picked up a document from his desk and placed it in front of Dan.“Among the listed companies alone, there are Harrington Group, Zephyr Corporation, Evergreen Pharmaceuticals, and several other major corporations in Harkins City…”Chris pointed at the document as he explained each asset one by one.At first, Dan tried to listen carefully. But the more he listened, the more unreal everything felt.Companies, properties, bank accounts, investment funds…The list seemed endless. Finally, Dan could not hold back anymore.“Wait a second,” he interrupted. “Are you saying all of this belongs to me now?”“Absolutely,” Chris replied with a slight nod.“Then… how much is
