Chapter 1
In Solbury City, a young man wearing a pale blue shirt and tattered jeans walked on the campus of Solbury College. He constantly stared at the ground in search of something. This young man did not look too bad, but his clothes had not met the washing machine in a long time. The dark stains on one of his sleeves was apparent. When students passed by and saw him, they would avoid him like the plague, disgust written all over their faces. However, Callum Bowman was used to those looks. His expression was calm as he walked toward a mineral water bottle on the roadside. Beep! The ringtone of an old school Nokia phone suddenly sounded, so Callum hastily took out his phone and answered the call. “Hello?” “Hello, is this Mr. Callum Bowman?” A middle-aged man’s deep, firm voice was heard. He talked like he was neither in a hurry nor too lax. Callum was a little stunned and took a while to answer. “Yes, this is Callum speaking.” “Mr. Bowman, I’ll keep this short. There is an inheritance

Hearing the knocks, Callum hastily stood up to open the door. A plump, middle-aged woman with black stockings stood before him. “Oh, hi, Ma’am, you’re here.” Seeing the middle-aged woman, who was his landlady, Callum was surprised for a while before he greeted her with a smile. “Let me get straight to the point, Callum. You didn’t even answer my call just now. Tell me, when are you paying rent? You’re three months overdue!” the middle-aged woman growled fiercely. “Um, about that… I’ll get my pay in two days, so can you just wait until then?” Callum asked in a low voice. “Two more days?” The landlady sneered before she started yelling. “I’ve already extended the deadline solely because you’re a student! We agreed on paying rent monthly, but you’ve dragged your feet for three whole months! You want two more days? Are you out of your mind?” Callum was helpless in front of his landlady. A week ago, he had spent all his savings on a birthday present for Carol, so he currently had no mo

At 1 P.M., Callum arrived on the first floor of Triton Center. Many expensive cars were in the parking lot outside. The people there were also dressed professionally. In contrast, Callum looked like a beggar, so he did not fit in at all. “Sorry, we do not allow begging here!” Callum had just walked into Triton Center when the beautiful receptionist in black business attire shouted at him. She also gave him a disgusted look. “I’m not here to beg,” Callum replied. “We also don’t accept agricultural products!” The receptionist yelled. “I’m here to see someone!” “Who? Do you think there’s anyone here who would see you?” The receptionist pouted as she continued to shout. Callum did not bother to find out her name; he simply wanted to focus on figuring out what exactly was going on with the money. He ignored her as he walked to the elevators. The receptionist panicked and ran out to block him. “Hey, what’s wrong with you? I already said you should leave! Stay right there! I’ll get t

“I’m the only heir?” Callum was taken aback by Salem’s words, for he thought that such a fantasy only happened on TV. “Yes. I can give you a brief introduction to the properties President Reed left behind. Some of the listed corporations include the Triton Group, Zephyr Corporation, and Evergreen Pharmaceuticals in Solbury…” As Salem spoke, he took a document from his own desk and pointed out everything that would soon belong to Callum. At first, Callum listened patiently, but as the list went on and on, he felt like he was hallucinating. He interrupted Salem and asked, “Okay, wait a moment. Are you sure that all these are mine now?” “Absolutely!” Salem nodded slightly at Callum. “Then how much are these things worth in total?” Callum questioned. “About that…” Salem was quiet, then replied in a somewhat hushed tone, “Mr. Bowman, with a rough estimate, it would be worth over five trillion.” “O-Over five trillion?!” Callum had an astonished expression on his face. “Yes!” Salem loo

A few minutes later, Callum walked out of the elevator. Sounds of stomping feet instantly invaded his ears, and he was quickly surrounded by more than ten guards. Seeing the group of people around him, Callum did not know what to do. “You’re finally back, you little pervert!” A sexy woman “Yeah! You’re only a beggar, yet you molested Miss Blanchard! You’re just asking for death at this point! Look at yourself!” The receptionist also chimed into the conversation. “I admit I was in the wrong, but I’ve already apologized for that. What else do you want me to do?” Callum frowned as he asked the woman in front of him. “What do I want you to do? Do you know how disgusted I felt earlier? How dare the likes of you touch me! Do you know who I am? Look at the rags you’re wearing! Sheesh, just thinking of it makes me gag!” There was obvious disgust in her voice. “That’s your problem, not mine. Please, just move aside. I’d like to leave now!” The woman’s words sparked rage within Callum, for

In the shadow of Solbury College's imposing edifice, Callum Bowman stood alone, a solitary figure against the backdrop of his classmates. Carol Mitchell, once his beloved, now clung to Ethan York's arm, her eyes devoid of any affection for Callum. The crowd behind them, including Lucas Wagner and Felix Cameron, Callum's closest friends, wore expressions of pity and discomfort. "Callum, heartbreak is just a part of life," Lucas tried to console him, his gaze flickering between Callum and Carol. He knew how much Callum had invested in their relationship, emotionally and otherwise. "I'm not bothered," Callum replied, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips. His indifference was surprising, considering he had just been dumped. But then again, he was now a trillionaire. Would Carol regret her decision when she found out? "Why are you all at Zenith Bank?" Callum asked, changing the subject. "We're here to withdraw money. What else would we be doing here? Begging like you?" Ethan sneered,

Yet, Callum Bowman remained utterly indifferent to Carol Mitchell's ignorant and ludicrous assertions. He simply rang the service bell, and in no time, a staff member approached. The staff member exchanged a knowing glance with Callum, then turned towards Carol and her companions, his voice icy, "If you're here to spend, please take a seat. If not, kindly exit!" "You..." Carol was so incensed that her chest heaved with indignation. She couldn't fathom how the destitute Callum she knew from the morning had transformed into someone of significance by the afternoon! What was even more infuriating... Callum didn't even deign to look at her directly. Instead, he savored his expensive red wine and said dismissively, "Sierra Hotel is beyond your means! Leave! Don't embarrass yourself here!" "You..." At this, Carol's face blanched with rage, and the others were equally upset, all turning their gaze towards Ethan York. Ethan, naturally, couldn't bear such an affront! Immediately, he sn

Just as they were on the brink of alerting the authorities, a sudden interruption occurred. The waiter, who had been observing the unfolding drama from the sidelines, approached Ethan York's table with an air of trepidation. "Gentlemen," he began, his voice laced with unease, "We will be closing shortly. Who among you will settle the bill?" His words hung in the air like a guillotine blade, causing Ethan and his companions to freeze in shock. Ethan quickly scanned the bill, his eyes widening at the sight of the total. "Six... Sixty thousand?" he stammered, disbelief etching itself onto his face. He felt a chill run down his spine. He only had ten thousand dollars on him, and his card held a mere few thousand more. It was a far cry from the astronomical sum demanded by the bill. "You... did you make a mistake?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. "How can this little meal cost sixty thousand?" The waiter's expression hardened at Ethan's words. "Our restaurant operates with in
Chapter 9
Within the opulent confines of the Sierra Hotel, Ethan York found himself ensnared by a phalanx of security guards. His only recourse was to frantically dial his friends, pleading for financial aid. Yet, each call was met with refusal. In desperation, he had no choice but to summon his father.Meanwhile, in the hotel's lavishly appointed restroom, Mabel Hayes was delicately retouching her makeup before the mirror, utterly perplexed by Callum Bowman's sudden affluence. "Carol, Eva, have you noticed how Callum seems transformed? It's staggering that he, once destitute, can now splurge 60,000 on a meal!"Eva Willow responded with a dismissive shrug, "So what if he can spend 60,000? Isn't he still a trash picker? He's just flaunting his overdrawn credit card because Carol dumped him today! I've seen many like him! He'll come to regret it when the bill comes due."This explanation seemed to soothe Carol Mitchell. She sneered, "Callum is such a pathetic creature. I regret ever being associa
Chapter 10
Despite the cacophony of voices, Celia Maxwell remained unperturbed, her voice soaring above the clamor as she continued her song. "We extend our gratitude to our V-card patron, Richie Solbury, for his generous tip of $1,000 to our singer, Celia Maxwell!" The announcement echoed through the Neon Oasis Club.Unfazed by Celia's indifference, Richie tipped again, a smirk playing on his lips. He was curious to see how long this 'prima donna' could resist the allure of money. With this thought, Richie rose from his seat and boomed, "Darling, if you perform a handstand in your mini skirt, I'll reward you with an additional $10,000! What do you say?"His proposition sent a ripple of excitement through the crowd, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. If Celia succumbed to the lure of money, her claim of 'singing but not selling herself' would be reduced to a farce. And there would be no shortage of high-rollers ready to pay for her company for the night. But against all expectations...Celia
