By 7:00 p.m., the compound of the Chancellor's estate was packed with luxury cars. Dignitaries, billionaires, and students poured in through the golden gates.
A reporter from the school's local news channel stood at the entrance with her microphone. Her name was Tessa, and she was already live.
"Good evening, everyone!" she said to the camera. "Tonight is the 60th birthday of Chancellor Jacob Brown, and the entire city is here."
A gossip blogger named Kyle squeezed in beside her with his phone. "And what a man he is," he whispered dramatically.
"Chancellor Brown isn't only the head of Brown Elite University," Tessa continued. "He is a billionaire with a net worth of over $13 billion."
"He inherited the Brown empire," Kyle added. "His family has passed it down for over 4 generations."
"They are the only billionaire family in the education sector," Tessa said. "Brown Universities are recognized as the best anywhere in the world."
"And the Chancellor is arguably the most powerful chancellor in the entire country," Kyle said. "He's well connected, and he is a no-nonsense man."
Behind them, two elderly professors walked past, whispering loud enough for the cameras to pick up.
"I heard he spent months begging Diana Levruff to come tonight," the first one said.
"Of course he couldn't reach her directly," the second replied. "He had to go through some of her known subordinates."
"And this morning, he got the news that she's sending her son instead."
"I've never seen him that happy. He almost danced in his office."
Tessa smiled at the camera. "A mystery guest, ladies and gentlemen! Everyone is dying to see who this son is."
Then the crowd began to murmur. A long line of cars rolled in slowly, like a royal parade.
"Here they come," Kyle whispered. "The Arab Royalties."
One car after another stopped on the red carpet. Each was worth at least $2 million, and their doors opened in perfect order.
Servants rolled out a golden carpet over the red one. Perfume filled the air as the princes and princesses stepped out in flowing white and gold.
"It's like an Arabian fantasy," Tessa said, pretending to wipe a tear. "People watch their arrival just to see what is possible."
"Do you know their rule?" Kyle asked the camera. "They once boasted that the day any other student drives a more expensive car than theirs, that day will be the start of their competition with that student."
"That's why no student buys a more expensive car," a student in the crowd said. "Some can afford it, but nobody can afford the crushing competition."
"It's suicidal," another student agreed. "Even Justin and the Big 5 don't dare."
The Arab Royalties glided into the compound without even looking at the cameras. The crowd sighed like they had just watched a movie.
Then the engines roared again. It was the Big 5's turn.
"The Big 5 are the only ones who can compete with themselves," Kyle announced. "Their families are sometimes business partners and sometimes enemies."
"Together, they have a combined net worth of over $25 billion," Tessa said. "Each family is worth at least $5 billion."
"And the competition is fierce," Kyle added. "Watch this."
Barry arrived first in a 2027 Lamborghini Urus worth $700,000. Students, reporters, and car lovers snapped pictures like crazy.
"That Urus is wild!" a car enthusiast screamed. "Barry did it again!"
But the attention shifted quickly when Mercedes stepped out of her customized 2027 Limited Edition Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon worth $750,000.
"She's the queen of Benz," Tessa said into the camera. "Just like her name, she only drives Mercedes."
James arrived with two cars at once, each worth at least $400,000. "Why drive one when you can arrive with two?" Kyle laughed.
Then Anna arrived in a Rolls-Royce worth $800,000. The crowd went wild for the current campus goddess.
"She stole the title from Qasari princess Princess Alia in a controversial ruling," Kyle whispered. "I still say it was a fix."
Princess Alia, who was watching from a distance, rolled her eyes.
"And now," Tessa said, "the moment everyone has been waiting for."
A loud whirring sound filled the sky. People looked up and screamed as a helicopter descended onto the lawn.
It was Justin's father's helicopter, worth over $20 million. Justin stepped out in a dazzling outfit covered in diamonds.
"He stole the show!" Kyle shouted. "Justin Hale just arrived by helicopter!"
"He's the anchor of the night," Tessa explained. "He convinced his father to let him use it, so he could arrive in style and make the family proud."
Justin helped Mirabel out of the helicopter. She was wearing a glittering gown, and she smiled like a queen.
Tessa rushed over with her microphone. "Justin, Mirabel, you two look amazing!"
"Thank you," Justin said, wrapping his arm around Mirabel's waist. "Tonight is going to be special."
Mirabel posed for the cameras. Then she saw two familiar faces and squealed.
It was Becky and Daniella, standing in the middle of a crowd of students. Everyone was gathered around them, holding up phones.
"Girls!" Mirabel ran to hug them. "I heard you have a new man!"
Kyle pushed his phone toward Becky. "Everyone has seen your pictures and videos with those cars," he said. "Who is the lucky billionaire?"
Becky flipped her hair. "We can't say his name yet," she said proudly. "But we're the new deal on campus, because we're dating billionaires now."
"How did you meet him?" Mirabel asked. "I want details!"
"At the store where we were humiliating Jimmy and his friends," Daniella said. "The man just came in like a king."
Everyone laughed at the mention of Jimmy. Even Justin chuckled and shook his head.
"Ladies, those cars are all anyone is talking about," Tessa said. "They look like ultra-rare cars that only exist in rumors."
"One-of-a-kind makes," a student said. "Each of them must cost at least $20 million."
The girls blushed. "Don't worry," Becky said. "Our billionaire is bringing the cars tonight, to pick us up after the party, once they're fully insured."
"Oh my God, you two are officially the hottest girls on campus," a girl screamed. "Not even Alia could get close to cars like that!"
Mirabel hugged them proudly. "These are my girls!"
Kyle turned to Mirabel with a sly smile. "A quick question for my followers: do you have any love left for your ex, Jimmy?"
"Do you feel bad about how it ended?" he added.
Mirabel spat on the ground. "Why would you mention such a disgusting name to me?"
"That rat was never my ex," she said. "I only helped him because he was an orphan, out of pity."
"Calling him my ex would be an insult to me and to my man."
Justin smiled and pulled her closer by the waist. "To prove how insignificant Jimmy is, he can't even show his face here tonight," he said.
"And what would he wear? His trash-bag hoodie?"
The crowd burst out laughing. Tessa's cameraman could barely hold the camera steady.
"Oh, he'll be here," Daniella said. "Jimmy and his friends will definitely come."
"Only because Jimmy tricked his foolish friends into cashing out their $50 million trust fund," Becky added. "So they could spend it on him."
People shook their heads. Some of them whispered how pathetic Jimmy was.
"He's a leech," Mirabel said. "He feeds on other people."
"If Jimmy and his friends dare to show their faces tonight, I will make them regret it," Justin said coldly. "They will be the butt of all my jokes."
"I will soon receive a special video," he continued, "which I will play later tonight."
"It shows how Jimmy was humiliated and beaten for sneaking into a luxury hotel to steal."
"We caught him this morning and reported him to the management."
The crowd cheered. Some students even chanted his name.
Kyle held up his phone, grinning. "My followers are going to eat this up."
Then something made everyone pause. A deep growl rolled in from the entrance, then another, then another.
Three powerful car engines roared at the gate. The whole compound fell silent.
"What is that?" someone whispered.
Everyone turned toward the entrance. The three cars Becky and Daniella had posted online were rolling in slowly.
The first was a matte-black machine that looked like it was carved from the night. It was the Aurelius Noir, a hypercar that only existed in rumors.
The second was a gleaming white luxury SUV, the Monarch Imperial. Its grille shone like a crown.
The third was a deep-blue convertible, the Sapphire Regent. It sparkled under the lights like a jewel.
"Each of them is worth $20,000,000," a car enthusiast whispered. "I've only seen them in leaked pictures."
Cameras flashed like lightning. Tessa forgot her script and just screamed, "Oh my God!"
Students scrambled to clear the road. Even the Arab Royalties stopped talking to look.
Mirabel, Becky, and Daniella hugged each other in excitement. "Our billionaire is here!" Becky screamed.
The three girls ran after the cars until they parked. They couldn't wait for their Mr. Billionaire to step out and show him off to everyone.
All the cameras and all the eyes pointed at the cars. Even the Chancellor's guards at the door leaned forward.
The girls fixed their hair and their dresses one last time. They wanted to look perfect for the moment.
The door of the first car opened slowly. A polished black shoe touched the ground.
Mr. Billionaire stepped out. But he wasn't wearing a suit; he was wearing a driver's uniform.
The crowd gasped. Becky and Daniella froze with their smiles still on.
"Why is he dressed like that?" Becky whispered.
From the second car, Matthew stepped out in a driver's uniform too. A student started laughing, then another.
Becky and Daniella rushed to Mr. Billionaire. "Babe, what is going on?" Becky asked.
Mr. Billionaire pushed them aside without even looking at them. The crowd gasped, and a murmur of rancor spread.
He walked quickly to the back door of the first car. He opened it, bowing deeply as if he was greeting a king.
"Young Master," he said. "We have arrived."
The whole compound held its breath. Nobody knew who the Young Master was.
Then a pair of expensive shoes stepped onto the carpet. A tall figure rose out of the car.
It was Jimmy. He was dressed in an outfit that cost over $1,000,000, and he looked like he was born to wear it.
Everyone wiped their eyes over and over, making sure they weren't dreaming. A few even pinched themselves.
From the other two cars, Jeffrey and Sabastein stepped out, dressed exotically like Jimmy. They waved at the crowd like celebrities.
Becky and Daniella couldn't believe their eyes. Their billionaire man was Jimmy's driver?
"How?" Becky whispered. Her whole body trembled.
