The assassin leader’s serrated blade was a blur of cold steel aimed directly at Ethan’s carotid artery. It was a killing blow, executed with the speed of a striking cobra.

Inside the ruined Rolls-Royce, Lin Yuna flinched, her hands flying to her mouth. She had seen violence before in the Capital's underworld, but Ethan was just a doctor. He was unarmed, unarmored, and outnumbered.

Blood was expected. A corpse was expected.

Instead, a ghost appeared.

Ethan did not retract. He stepped into the path of the attack.

In an instant, the distance between them was obliterated. Ethan's left hand flew like an arrow before the assassin's eyes could register it, locking onto the man's wrist just as the blade aligned with his neck.

CRACK!

The sickening sound of bone shattering echoed sickeningly in the quiet street.

The leader never even had time to scream. With a flick of his wrist, twisting the now-broken wrist, Ethan had forced the assassin to drop the knife. In an almost fluid motion, the heel

The commotion in the Grand Medical Pavilion had soon quieted down. It was the Lin Family's private army that operated in an efficient organized manner.Victor Vance lay curled on the VIP box floor, holding his maimed hand, his face pale and slick with sweat. He was not at all the obnoxious arrogant prince of the Capital. He now looked like a broken man, quietly whimpering in the ruins of his own ambition. He was dragged up by two Lin guards from his armpits."My father..." Victor wheezed, spit flying from his lips. "My father will burn this city to the ground! You can't arrest me! I am a Vance!"Lin Yuna stepped over the debris with the high heels clicking on the broken glass and stopped right in front of him, boredom written all over her face."Your father," Yuna said while checking her phone, "just boarded a private jet three minutes ago, flying towards international waters. He left you, Victor. You are the sacrifice."Victor's eyes widened. "No, that's a lie!""Take him," Yuna orde

  • The Cage of Beasts

Weak, thin, terrorized, one would have been emptying it into inexorable realms. The sound cascaded through the Grand Medical Pavilion and obliterated everyone's sanity.Ten seconds seemed to suspend time when no one moved. The camera operators forgot to zoom in. The judges forgot to breathe. Every single one of the five thousand spectators sat in collective awe with minds unable to fathom what they had just witnessed.Leaning against the table, Ethan Smith wiped his forehead with his palm. The nearly forty percent of his internal Qi almost drained by the Nine Heavens Resurrection Technique posed the least of his worries. The tremor in his hands now arose not from fear but from the unbridled physical toll of pulling a soul from the tether of death."'He...he's alive?" came a woman's voice in the front row. Then the dam burst."He's alive! The boy is alive!""Medical God! He is a true Medical God!"There was a true eruption in the arena. Everyone stood up on their chairs and screamed Et

  • Snatching a Soul from the King of Hell

The heavy oak doors of the Grand Medical Pavilion slowly swung shut behind Ethan Smith, sealing the silence inside the arena. The shock of his arrival was slowly replaced by a buzzing murmur of confusion and awe.Ethan walked toward his podium as if deliberately ignoring Dr. Pierce's death stare, as well as the shocked silence by the judges. Lin Yuna, the "Jade Phoenix," did not take a gracing seat out into the audience. Rather, she walked quite brazenly to the VIP section and took the seat right opposite Victor Vance. Crossed her legs, kept staring, and fire in her eyes promised vengeance.Victor Vance's hand wobbled a little on the champagne glass when he carefully placed it down on the table. "He survived Shadow Kill team," he whispered to his father. "And he has brought Lin family into this. We cannot let him win."His father, the Vance Patriarch, remained cold. "The dead cannot win tournaments. Execute the final plan."On the stage, Elder Mo coughed in an attempt to clear the air

The butler’s dagger was mere inches from Ethan’s chest, gleaming with a dark, greenish coating—poison. Ahfong’s face was twisted into a mask of desperate hatred, the loyalty of thirty years shedding away to reveal a bought-and-paid-for killer."Die!" shrieked Ahfong.Lin Yuna screamed and groped for a weapon she had no right to possess. Elder Lin protested and attempted to rise from his wheelchair but collapsed back in helplessness.Ethan didn't twitch, and he lifted his left hand with the index and middle fingers extended in a sword-finger gesture.Thwack.It was the soft sound made by a book snapping shut.Ethan's fingers struck Ahfong's wrist at a precise oblique angle, bypassing the muscle and going directly for the nerve. Ahfong's hand was seized in a violent spasm and the dagger flew into the air, end over end, before embedding itself in the ceiling with a dull thud. Before Ahfong could recover, Ethan incised. He didn't beat the butler face; rather, his hand danced across the bu

  • The Dragon Enters the Phoenix Nest

The steam rising from the teacup was the only thing moving inside the shattered Rolls-Royce. Lin Yuna sat frozen, her porcelain skin pale against the dark leather seats. She stared at Ethan Smith, who was casually sipping his tea as if he were sitting in a quiet café, not surrounded by groaning, broken bodies on a dark street in the Capital."You..." Yuna started, her voice trembling before she cleared her throat, forcing the steel back into her tone. "You are a Grandmaster."Ethan set the cup down. "I am a doctor, Miss Lin. I just know a little bit about anatomy. Knowing where to hit is just as important as knowing where to heal."Outside, headlights flooded the scene. A convoy of three armored SUVs screeched to a halt. Twelve men in suits jumped out—the Lin Family's elite security team. They had arrived too late. The captain of the guard rushed to the window, his gun drawn, panic in his eyes. "Miss Lin! We lost the signal! Are you hurt? Where are the assassins?"Yuna slowly lowered
