The fact that Edward knew that they were headed to the island made Egan even a lot more sober. Although he knew first hand that Edward doesn't play around. But getting surprised again made it even much more real and convincing. They had arrived at the island and were now approaching the group of soldiers who were fully armed and scary. "If we have done it my way, we would have arrived here about twenty minutes ago." Egan complained as they advanced. "Did you think I couldn't do what you so boast of?" Edward asked. "You can disappear like me?" Egan was surprised to hear this. He had never for once heard Edward boast of anything. If he was truly saying this, it could only mean that he meant it. "You are not joking are you?" Egan ran ahead and started walking with his back in order to inspect the face of Edward. Looking closely at the solemn expression on the face of Edward, he could tell for a fact that the fellow was not making a joke. He was serious about whatever this may be.
