Chapter twenty-one

Rhys was oblivious of the thoughts and plots going on in Malia’s head and even if he was aware, he won’t be bothered, knowing that there was hardly anything she could do that would affect him.

As he returned to his room, he laid back on the bed, then quickly entered the interdimensional space to see Rio harvesting some herbs. As the little spirit notices his presence, he ran towards Rhys, bursting into tears. “Master! Did you forget all about me?”

Rhys tried not to burst into laughter, upon hearing his childish tone. “No I did not, why would you say that?”

“Master where is the chicken?” Rio asked with an aggrieved expression on his face.

“Uh?” Rhys contemplated on what to say to placate him. “I didn’t forget about it.”

“Then where is it?” Rio looked around suspiciously.

“I left it in the outside world.” Rhys had no other choice but to lie with a straight face.

Rio gave him a disbelieving look before bursting into tears. “Master doesn’t like me anymore, you want to replace me.”
