A nurse quietly entered the intensive care unit where Lee was placed. As the monitor beeped steady, she moved closer, scanning the reading. She adjusted one of the IV drips and noted a few observations on the chart.

“His vitals are stable.” She confirmed.

“Wait!” Tyler's voice stopped her just as she turned to leave.

The nurse paused and looked back.

“He showed a sign of response. Does that mean… he'll soon wake up?”

“I understand your concern ma'am.” The nurse gave a small smile, leaning in slightly. “But that could simply be a reflex. It's common among patients recovering from trauma.”

The nurse stopped for a while after observing Tyler's disappointed look. “I know you're eager to see him awake, but that may take time, or…”

Tyler snapped her head instantly, her eyes burning with rage. “... Or he might never wake up?”

The nurse expression grew serious as she glanced at Lee, then back to Tyler. “He's showing a strong neurological response. That's a good sign. Let's remain hopeful.”

Tyler exhaled slowly as the tension weighing on her mind eased up a bit, but she said nothing.

“I think you should get some rest ma'am.” The nurse said gently. “We are observing him closely, so there's nothing to worry about.”

“I'm fine.” Tyler replied curtly, not even sparing her a glance.

The nurse held back for a while before leaving the room.

Two days passed, Lee was still unconscious, but his condition improved drastically. His brain activity has increased, and his vitals are stabilizing. His body was responding to treatment far better than expected.

He was transferred to a VIP ward, guarded by the security men.

Lee's eyes slowly opened, as he woke up to a strange surrounding. All he knew at first was darkness that felt endless and a throbbing pain that pulsed through his head.

At first, his vision was blurry and he could barely hear a thing until he was pulled back by a faint sound from the monitor, and an unfamiliar surrounding as his vision cleared.

A bright light struck him as he looked up at a sparkling chandelier hung above him. He blinked hard, trying to adjust.

Where was he? This place felt unreal, everything in it including …

A memory struck him suddenly. The deafening sound of a truck driving towards him, his legs hitting the break and a loud crash. His head throbbed harder as the incident replayed like a movie scene.

He tried to move, but his body felt heavy and restrained by an unfamiliar weakness. Then he felt it, the bed beneath him. It was soft and unlike anything he had ever laid on. It was covered with an Egyptian cotton fabric.

A familiar scent pulled him back– lilies, just like his mother smelled like. Was he dead and already in heaven?

The sound of footsteps broke his thought. A nurse walked in, carrying a tray of tools. It wasn't just any tray, it was made of gold.

She moved with precise steps, and an expression having a mixture of excitement and respect. Then she saw his open eyes and her face lit up in reverence.

“Master, you're awake!” She quickly placed the tray aside and rushed to his bedside.

Master? Lee gasped in dismay. He tried to sit up, his brows furrowing in confusion, but a wave of dizziness knocked him, forcing him back down.

“Sir, please don't move.” The nurse said quickly. “It's normal to feel dizzy, so you need to stay calm. I'll call the doctor right away.”

He was startled at her composed respect towards him. Did she just call him Sir? Was she talking to someone else? He glanced around instinctively, but there was no one else in the room.

Lee's astound gaze returned to the nurse. “You mean… me?” He asked weakly

The nurse's eyes blinked in surprise. “Yes Mr Young.” She said, straightening herself. “You're safe now. There's nothing to worry about.”

“I could get the—” before the nurse could say more, the door flew open, and a middle-aged doctor burst into view.

He walked in with careful steps, his eyes locked on Lee.

His dark green eyes burned with excitement and desperation, as he got a full view of the new Master Young. His face flushed with a sense of relief, seeing how Lee successfully made it through hours of surgery.

“I'm glad you're awake, Master Young!” He said, stepping closer and checking Lee's vitals with a stethoscope.

Lee was startled at the sudden change of regards towards him. He was never for once treated like a human, rather, he was stumped on like disposed trash that never was to be used again. Even the people who he had thought of as a family treated him like a disgusting fly they're so desperate to get rid of.

His only reason for living this long was Catherine and Mrs Adams. They cared for him and valued him more than anything in the world. They both were ready to sacrifice themselves to see him happy, that was the only reason he had held on to that tiny fling of hope.

Several questions were running through his mind, causing the pain to worsen. He wasn't sure where to start, or who to ask.

Just as he was about to find any useful information from the doctor, the door opened again and a beautiful lady walked into the room.

Lee's breath was caught in his throat for a while, he had forgotten how to breath. It was his first time seeing a beautiful lady this masculine and powerful. Her presence carried a certain type of aura that could command a room without saying any word.

Tyler noticed the change in his expression and her lips curved into a faint smile. “Master Young.” She said, bowing all the way down.

Why was someone with such confidence and unique aura calling him 'master?' Lee's confusion heightened. Could it be that he's been abducted by some bad guys? But that didn't make sense. No one kidnaps a person and treats them like royalty.

His gaze lingered on Tyler, searching for an answer.

Tyler understood what was running through his mind. “Master, don't think too much for now,” she said calmly. “I'll explain everything once the doctor confirms you're strong enough to be discharged.”

Lee hesitated … then simply nodded his head. A thought struck his mind instantly, and he jerked up.

The doctor was reluctant to touch someone as powerful as him, but he was also worried about his health. He gently pressed him back down.

“Please Master, you shouldn't move yet. Whatever you need, we'll handle it for you.” The doctor said reassuringly.

“Mrs Adams…” he muttered, pushing the doctor's hands away from himself.

Tyler walked closer to Lee and said. “You don't need to worry about anything Master. Mrs Adams is fine.”

“She's currently in one of the best hospitals in Avendel Height's,” Tyler continued. “Second, only to Aetheria Infirmary. She has undergone surgery, but she hasn't regained consciousness yet.”

“I personally arranged for doctor Elbert to handle her case. She's in good hands.”

Lee's lip parted, but no word came out. How did everything change overnight? His life, Mrs Adam's and everything except for Catherine.

It's been days he hadn't heard from her. He was worried about her, but she has her family and Susan to care for her. He's confident that Susan would protect her in his absence.

He wasn't sure how he'd thank Tyler or whoever had saved him and Mrs Adams.

His lips parted again, but this time, a faint word escaped it. “Thank you.” He said, looking directly at Tyler.

Tyler was taken back by surprise, but she composed herself. “No Master, I should be thanking you. You may not remember, but you've once saved me. All thanks to you and the Young's family, I'm still alive.”

Lee's brow furrowed as his confusion increased. Saved her? He didn't remember anything like that.

“When can I be discharged, doctor …” He asked, drifting his attention back to the doctor.

“Tro… Troy.” He stuttered. “About a week. That may change if your response to treatment is rapid. For now, you need rest and proper nutrition. You'll be back to your feet in a short time.”

“Thank you for your hard work doctor Troy,” Tyler said.

“Of course. Anything ma'am.” Doctor Troy replied with a polite smile. “We'll leave you two to rest.”

He exited the room along with the nurse.

Lee was still lying on the bed, with an IV fluid connected to his arm. His fist was tightly gripped around the cotton sheet as his confused gaze fell on Tyler.

Tyler pulled an armchair closer and sat on it. “I'm Tyler Hook, your personal assistant.”

Lee's eyes widened in dismay. What? Personal assistant? How could that be? How can a live-in son-in-law himself have a personal assistant? All his life, he served others and he was tossed around like a mere garbage, but now… now, he's about to be the one being served?

Lee's grip tightened even more as he noticed Tyler's serious expression. It was not a joke. “What's happening? How could that be?”

He shook his head in disbelief. Maybe it's all a dream and needs to be woken up. He pinched his skin really hard, and the pain he felt said otherwise. It's not a dream?

Tyler's lips curled into a savvy smile. “It's normal to feel confused, but this is your reality now, Master Young.”

Lee's gaze sharpened.“Then tell me… why do you all keep calling me Master?”

“Because it is who you are.” Tyler inhaled sharply before she continued. “Your life is about to change completely. Sorry we took so long to find you. We never stopped searching for you, but thanks to ‘him’, we finally did.”

Him?” Lee's eyes widened in confusion. His mind was still struggling to process everything Tyler had told him so far, yet more secrets kept coming nonstop. He wasn't ready for any of it. “Yes, Master.” Tyler lowered her head, though her composed expression didn't escape Lee's notice. “Cole Smith.” “Cole Smith?” Lee was startled at the mention of his name, it crushed him harder than anything else. Lee's thought spiralled. What did Cole Smith have to do with this? Or was there another person with the same name? That wasn't possible, there was only one Cole Smith he knew. He was the same person who always looked down on him with disdain. “Yes, Master. Cole Smith.” She repeated. “He's the only son of Williams Smith, the third richest man in Avendel Heights.”It's him, there was no doubt. How could it be? Lee ran his finger through his hair anxiously. “What am I supposed to do with that information?” “He's a dangerous man hidden behind a flawless face.” Tyler said, her lips curving in

In the living room, Dev and Bianca were absorbed in their phones, scrolling endlessly that none of them noticed. When Susan returned from the gym, she dropped her bag on the couch and stretched loudly. “Where's Catherine?” She asked.“She's in the study.” Dev replied without looking up.“You should talk some sense into her.” Bianca scoffed. “She's been locked in that study for hours, probably thinking of ways to save that loser's ass again.” She blurted. “I don't care if she breaks down, but I think you will.” Susan didn't respond, she

Her pretty face was all he needed to start his day. He lurch his eyes to the mirror at the left, falling his brown hair backwards. He wore the best suit in his closet, adjusting his tie in front of the mirror. He sprayed cologne and smiled at his reflection. “You look good.” Cathrine said, rising from the bed. “Thanks. Good morning.” “Good morning.” She chuckled, hugging him from behind. Lee took a deep breath and drove off, the weight of the two million dollar bill still crushing on him. Mrs Adams life depended on the surgery, and asking Lady Wales for more cash was a non-starter. He was out of options, but he thought he could get a job and earn the money, however long it took. “Don't worry, Grace, I'll save you, no matter what,” he muttered as his grip tightened on the steering wheel. He slowed down, pulling into the street. After making a stop at the Wales mansion, he pressed the horn gently, but no one responded. Getting out, he walked up to the gate, pressing the intercom repeatedly. “Who the fuck disturbs at this time?” The security guard barked. But he was surprised when the camera revealed Lee's face.“So you're the loser who doesn't give up,” the guard sneered. “What're you still doing here after all the drama you caused? Don't you have any shame?” Lee felt a sting – everyone treated him like trash, including a common security guard. He must've also witnes
