Chapter 1
001
A slap landed on David's face, and he felt his cheeks flush with pain. The sting lingered as he stood before the irate customer, his eyes cast downward in shame. He had been rushing to deliver the goods, and in his haste, he had broken the customer's expensive chandelier. Now, he was facing the wrath of the angry woman.
"Do you have any idea how much it cost, you lowly thing?" she yelled, her voice echoing through the room. David winced, feeling a surge of embarrassment and regret. "I'm sorry, ma'am," he muttered, the words feeling hollow even to his own ears. The woman scoffed, her expression incredulous. "Sorry? You think sorry will get us back our chandelier? You need to pay for it!" She folded her arms across her chest, her eyes narrowing as she looked him up and down. "Can you even afford it?" she sneered, her tone dripping with disdain. David felt a pang of self-consciousness as he glanced down at himself. He was wearing a pair of worn-out jeans with a hole in one knee, a relic from his meager wardrobe. He had dressed hastily that morning, not thinking much of his appearance. But now, standing before this wealthy customer, he felt like a beggar. The woman's gaze lingered on him, her expression a mixture of disgust and disappointment. David's shame deepened, and he felt like he was shrinking under her scrutiny. He knew he had to make things right, but the weight of his poverty and mistakes kept crushing him. "I'll pay for it, ma'am," he promised, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'll find a way." The woman's expression turned calculating, her eyes gleaming with a sinister light. "I'll need to document this," she said, pulling out her phone. "Say cheese," she sneered, snapping a photo of David's humiliated face. David felt a surge of indignation, but he remained frozen in place, his eyes fixed on the woman's cold gaze. How could she be that cruel "You dare not try to escape me," she warned, her voice dripping with malice. "I'll find you, no matter where you go until you pay every dime" With a swift motion, she slammed the door shut, the sound echoing through the hallway like a prison gate clanging shut. David felt a shiver run down his spine as he stood alone in the hallway, the woman's words ringing in his ears. He blinked back tears, his eyes stinging with frustration and shame. He was a grown man, after all, and he couldn't afford to break down like a child. David doesn't even know how long he has been suffering because his memory began three years ago. It was like came down from heaven directly because he had no memory of his last life, who his family were or who he used to be. All he knew was that he carries a gunshot scar in his skull. With a heavy heart, David turned away from the door and began to trudge down the hallway, his footsteps echoing through the empty space. As David trudged away from the woman's apartment, his phone suddenly buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out to see his boss's name flashing on the screen. "David, where are you?" his boss barked. "You were supposed to deliver those packages hours ago. Get your ass back to the office, we have more things to deliver." “I'm so sorry,I'm now on my way” David apologized profusely for the delay and rushed back to his scooter. He quickly got on and drove back to the office. When he arrived at the office, he was given a new package to go deliver. He expertly navigates his way through cars and pedestrians on the busy street. He stopped the scooter when he got to the destination where the delivery was to be made. It was a nice, expensive neighborhood. His mouth dropped open as he stared at the posh and luxurious houses in the neighbourhood. He marveled at the beauty of wealth. He felt ashamed of how he looked, unpresentable and poor in that kind of neighbourhood As he approached the house he was to deliver to,he pressed the gate bell, and the door swung open immediately. He entered the compound, making his way towards the front door. "Hello?" he called out, hoping someone would answer so he could get the package signed for. But there was no response. David shrugged and dropped the package on the floor, pulling out his phone to take a picture as proof of delivery. That's when he felt something cold pressed against his head. David's heart skipped a beat as he froze, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. What was happening? How did his life get to that stage? Was he going to die? He began to plead with whoever was behind him, his voice shaking with fear. "Please, don't kill me. I'm just a delivery man. I don't have any money or valuables on me." But instead of a response, David felt a sharp pain as the person behind him hit him hard with the gun. He collapsed to the floor, everything going dark. When David slowly regained consciousness, he was met with a sharp pain in the back of his head. He groaned, his hand instinctively reaching up to touch the tender spot. He had not even expected to wake up alive, and the fact that he had was a miracle. As he looked around, he realized that he was now inside the house. His eyes widened in fear as he spotted a gun on the floor beside him. Without hesitation, he picked it up and threw it away, as if the very presence of the gun was a threat to his life. David's gaze fell upon his hands and clothes, and he was met with a sight that made his blood run cold. They were stained with blood. His mind reeled as he struggled to make sense of the situation. “What was going on? How did I end up here?” he asked himself As he stood up, panic began to set in. He knew he had to get out of the house fast before whatever that was happening would implicate him. He has no one to be there for him,so he can't even afford to be in trouble. His eyes darted around the room, taking in the surroundings. And then, his gaze landed on the most unimaginable thing. There was a woman and her two kids lying dead in the living room. His eyes widened in fear and be swallowed hard. Was somebody's trying to frame him?Expand

The Return Of The Mafia Lord Chapter 220
It took months for them to find their way back to something resembling trust, and neither of them pretended the process would be simple. Xavier spent that first week recovering from the cold that had settled dangerously into his chest, and Ari, despite every instinct telling her to protect the careful, hard-won peace she'd built for herself, found she couldn't quite bring herself to turn him away. She nursed him back to health with the same stubborn, practical care she brought to everything else in her life, and somewhere in the quiet, unhurried hours of those days, they finally began talking — really talking — about everything that had happened, everything that had gone wrong, everything neither of them had been honest enough to say when it might have mattered most. Xavier told her about Alyssia, about the slow, disturbing transformation he'd witnessed, about the moment her name had slipped from his lips in a room that should have belonged entirely to someone else. He told her about

The Return Of The Mafia Lord Chapter 219
Xavier had rehearsed what he wanted to say to her at least a dozen times on the drive over, and every version of it evaporated the moment he actually saw her. She was standing outside the warehouse studio, laughing at something Julian had said, a garment bag draped over one arm, sunlight catching the loose strands of hair that had escaped her ponytail. She looked lighter than he remembered — not just physically, but in some deeper, more fundamental way, as though some weight she'd carried for years had finally been set down. Xavier parked across the street and sat there for a long moment, hands still on the wheel, gathering whatever courage he had left before finally stepping out. "Ari." Her name left him quieter than he intended, but she heard it anyway. Her entire body went rigid, the laughter dying instantly from her face, replaced by something guarded and cold that struck him harder than he expected. "Ari, please, I just want to talk—" She didn't answer. She turned instead to

The Return Of The Mafia Lord Chapter 218
“How do you plan to handle this issue Mr President?” The annoying voice of Mathew took Damian out of his trance. Since the meeting started,he has been thinking about what he would do when he finally gets to the town where people were affected by their snacks. “I'm going there myself tomorrow to handle the matters and after finding out the cause,we would compensate the affected families” “Compensate? We don't have money to throw around just because of a mistake done by one person” “One person? The snacks passed the food testing review and it was considered healthy for consumers,so the problem is what happened to the snacks when it got there? It's something the company has to attend to not a single person. Or what do you suggest we do Mr Vice president?” Damian asked and Mathew gritted his teeth. Calling him Vice President made him so angry because it sounded to him like Damian was reminding him his place. “Call the press. Apologise and make it known to them it was your fault and

The Return Of The Mafia Lord Chapter 217
The next two weeks were a blur of calculated actions. Under the guise of restoring the buses, Liam spent his days at a secret warehouse he’d leased on the outskirts of the city after he hired a heavy-duty towing service to move the buses Once the warehouse doors were locked, the real work began. Liam dismantled. Armed with an industrial grinder and a heart fueled by vengeance, he carefully stripped the leaden, blue-painted shells. He began selling the gold in small, untraceable increments to various black-market brokers and high-end refineries across state lines, amassing a fortune that was more than anything the Graysons currently held in liquid assets. While he worked the gold by day, his nights were spent reviewing files from a private investigator. The high-resolution photos were damning. Chloe draped over Julian, her supposed best friend,in the back of a luxury SUV,the two of them holding hands outside, and even entering hotels together. He got all the pictures to prove her af
