Chapter Fourteen

How dare you?!"

"Melissa, you came all the way from the slum you call home and brought me, your grandmother, a fake invitation!"

"So this is your own little way of getting back at me for taking over Walters Enterprise!"

"Well, thanks to my smart grandchild, your plans to humiliate me and my family at the grand general's wedding have failed!"

Lady Megan Stevens was infuriated, her eyes glinting in anger as she immediately took the invitation card and threw it on and then stumped down it with her feet.

"You really are an ingrate and I will show you how I treat ingrates like you!"

"As for you Max Carlson, it wasn't enough for you to ruin our family's joy and plan to join the elite families at the top, you came here and accused me of stealing Walters Enterprise from Melissa and her mom."

"Well today is the day you will learn respect and suffering will be your teacher."

Lady Megan's voice was laced with anger and venom as she signalled Bryan and Logan Stevens, two of Melissa's cousins to attack and beat up Max Xanderson.

Bryan and Logan had attended the defence academy at Blurberg and had some pretty good fighting skills.

Since they came back they have been managing some of the Stevens family businesses and doubling down as bodyguard for Lady Megan Stevens.

The two stormed at Max Xanderson who stood his ground and kept dodging every blow and kick sent towards him.

He clearly didn't want to hurt any of them but the fight was beginning to bore him.

He immediately delivered a shadowless kick to Bryan Stevens who flew and almost crashed into Lady Megan Stevens who managed to pull out of the way.

Logan on the other had been beaten up really badly, Max had tied him up with his sweatshirt and was sitting on top of his back as he yelled.

"Help me granny!!!"

"He's hurting my spine!!!"

His voice was laced with anguish as he tapped out on the floor begging for mercy.

Lady Megan stared behind her, Bryan had completely blacked out from that single special shadowless kick.

Lady Megan Steven's face was etched in anger, her teeth gritting in fury.

"What have you done to my grandson?!"

"Guards!!!"

Her voice was vehement as she stared at Bryan who was still motionless in the glassy mess from crashing into the coloured window.

In a matter of seconds, the whole voyeur was filled with specially trained guards, some had ninja-related weapons and some had batons.

Immediately Max Xanderson was surrounded, he couldn't care less as he still sat on Logan's back unperturbed.

His fist clenched and ready to now annihilate these posers, they were clearly no match for him.

With the corner of his eyes, he had already played out how this fight would turn out in his favour without any scratch on himself.

"What are you waiting for?!"

"Beat up this loser and save my grandson, Can't you see he is turning green already!"

Lady Megan Stevens yelled as her gaze fell on Logan who was now about to black out from the surprisingly heavy weight of Max.

Melissa Stevens, Sophia Stevens and Chloe fidgeted in the other corner of the room.

"Grandma! Please reconsider and call off the guards, please!"

Melissa Stevens begged as tears threatened to well down her eyes.

"What are you yapping about?"

"Did your so-called husband have mercy on Logan and Bryan?!"

Eunice yelled back at Melissa who Immediately shuddered back in trepidation from the venom lurking in Eunice's eyes.

Just as the first masked security agent made his way to attack Max Xanderson, the door was immediately heaved open.

"Lady Megan Stevens!"

"Lord George Lucas and his entourage are here to see you."

The messenger's voice was laced with a look that Lady Megan Stevens immediately reconsidered as danger.

Swallowing a hard lump and motioning to her security guards to back down, she yelled, "Bring them in!"

Her voice was laced with a mixture of trepidation and curiosity as everyone's gaze was fixed on the door.
