Mark's point of view
I walked out for the umpteenth time as I looked left and right hoping to see her walk out of her car or better still walk up to the gallery. The weather seems cold and I won't want her to catch a cold. I kept folding and dusting her jacket as I waited patiently. “Boss, I advise you to come in now, you have been standing out there for a while now, it's cold and the event is starting in the next ten minutes. Won't you want to come in and get settled?” A tiny voice said behind me as I looked back to see my assistant. Sara Adam! The most hyperactive assistant I have ever seen, she has been up and doing since we fixed the event and I have even noticed her restlessness since the day break and I must really appreciate her work. She is the best! “Thanks Sara, I will come in very soon! Get a jacket for yourself in order not to get cold and see to the welfare team backstage!” I said. “Okay big boss, I will get to it now!” She said, without a second thought or word, she turned to leave before stopping suddenly, and turned to look at me. “Are you by any chance waiting for your fiancee , Miss Jocelyn?” She asked and I sneered at her. A loudmouth, she is! “I am sure she is by the corner or just trying to surprise you, she can never miss today for anything!” She added and her smile seems suspicious. “Do you know something?” I asked and she immediately turned and hastened her steps like she was running off out of guilt. Definitely she must be planning something with Jocelyn. They never stop to pull surprises. As cunning as they seem, I am happy they got along so well and it would have been a hell of a headache if they were enemies. On one hand, my loyal assistant and the other will be the love of my life. Phew I waited an extra five minutes as I kept greeting and making small talks with the guests that we're going in for the event. This is larger compared to my imagination, all thanks to Jocelyn. She is a blessing to me, she is my motivation and inspiration. She saw the best in me even when I felt New York wasn't for me. It's quite funny to tell a tale of how I forgot my design on her plane seat and she got interested in it and won't stop asking questions about it till we get off and now, we aren't just clients and art designers but lovers. “Babe!” I heard the voice I have been waiting for. She was alighting from her black Audi car with a big bouquet of roses in her right hand and her bag on the other hand. My breath seized as I noticed her dress. She wore the yellow floral gown I bought for her last month. She knows I love seeing her in that yellow gown. Her smiles and steps raised a thousand butterflies in my belly as her shoulder length hair was let down and she was so stunning that I am sure the angels must be jealous of her. She wasn't wearing heavy makeup and I wonder if her aim was to attend this event or seduce me. My frowning face turned into a smile as she brightened everywhere the moment she walked over. “My darling is being a gentleman, waiting at the door for me!” She said from her distance and I smiled. “You are late but you know I can't go in without you, babe!” I said and spread my arms for her to walk in and she smiled seductively and I could tell she was trying to escape the discussion of her coming late. She bounced happily and everything slowed down all of a sudden. “bwoom!” a gunshot sounded in the air, the area shook violently as everyone tried to escape. The gunshot sounded again and this time, I was able to hug her and we lay down. My heart began to race as it's been long I heard a gunshot. What could have been going on? Who is shooting in this area? This is a GRA, even the securities must have a very good reason to fire their guns. What must have happened. The area suddenly went silent after a lot of shouts and runs had died down. I looked up and was sure the area was safe before looking down at Jocelyn. “Babe! Let's go inside, the gunshot has stopped. Let's rush in and wait for the police!” I whispered but she didn't respond. I could tell she must still be traumatized by the sound of a gun shot but nevertheless we have to return to a safe space. “Babe!” I said again, and stretched my hand to her face and wiped her hair off her face but strangely she was just staring at me. I wanted to poke her out of her trance but I seem to touch something wet. I lifted my hand and my eyes popped out of its socket. “Jocelyn! Blood, stand up, there is blood on the floor!” I screamed, as I sat up and tried to help her but I got confused. The blood wasn't there before! And her dress is covered with blood. She isn't moving. She is getting cold, and it's not due to the weather. Jocelyn was shot by the bullet! “Jocelyn, wake up!” I screamed but she wasn't even moving. “Help, somebody help, she has been shot! Help me! She is my wife! Help me!” I kept screaming as I watched a few people standing far from us. I immediately lifted her and stood up. Carrying her in a bridal style, I rushed towards the cars. I got to her car as fast as I could but the doors weren't open. “Sara, help! Jocelyn don't leave me! Please don't. You are all I have! Dont do this to me!” I kept yelling as tears were already streaming from my eyes. Finally I heard the siren sound of the ambulance. I ran towards it's direction and luckily they didn't delay as the attendees swung into action immediately. “Who are you to the patient?” One of the nurses asked as they collected her from me. “Her fiancee!” I replied. “Come in! Let's go to the hospital!” I didn't wait for any more words before jumping into the vehicle. I watched as the nurses began to do their jobs. Jocelyn, you dare not die!

chapter 9
Mark's point of view It wasn't hard to inform the police that I will be out of town for a while but available for calls in case they have any report to make to me.Even though I knew they had buried Jocelyn's case just like that. They weren't even bothered about me.I wish I could punch so sense into them but I guess if they can't do it legally, I can do it illegally, the point is just for the truth to be discovered and justice be served for Jocelyn.I visited Jocelyn's family house and even though there was music on and no much changes in the house, there was no joy.Jocelyn's mum wasn't welcoming but she was not agitated like before. Her father heard me out and wished me luck after I told him I wanted to go bury my dead parents in my hometown. He asked when I would be back but I did tell him about the uncertainty and he approved even though I could read some disappointment in his eyes. They are forever my family but I have to leave to get justice no matter what.Sitting in the plan

Mark's point of view Hacking was a talent that has always come in handy since I started growing teeth. I hacked into the gallery surveillance camera and luckily I was able to retrieve the deleted section. And indeed, the footage of that incident was right there. Why did they delete it? I watched it for the very first time and I felt nothing but anger watching the man shoot towards my way and Jocelyn went down with me.I tried to bottle my emotions and watch the second time for analysis and surprisingly, I found out the gunshot was directed towards my direction. It wasn't a case of robbery like the officers claimed. The man in the passenger seat of the moving car was the one who took the shot.It was really planned as the car was on motion and didn't delay after the second gunshot and they drove away.Looking at their aim, it was obvious they were planning to shoot at someone and now I am cut in-between if the gunshot was fot me or Jocelyn. From the recent news, I Believe it is for m

Mark's point of view “Mr Mark!” A buzzing voice kept calling my name and I couldn't help but open my eyes. It is a little dark here.I rubbed on my eyes to adjust my view and indeed it's dark in here. “Who is that?” I asked and the voice answered happily.“It's me, Sara!” She responded. I sat up causing all my body to ache. I must have slept in an uncomfortable position for a long while. But where am I??“Let's go, sir” she said and I wondered what she meant by that. “Where am I??” I asked and her mood dampened.“The cell in the station!” She replied.“What? How!!” I asked with a very confused expression and she stretched her hand and helped me out “They said they thought you were harassing the female officer, so they used their teaser on you and you blackout. It was only when they heard from the weakling called the female officer that you were innocent, so they called me to come take you home! I guess they are too ashamed to face you and apologize!” She responded and led me out t
