Liam's POV

“Hans what is it? What's wrong with my mom?” My voice shook with fear I hadn’t felt in a long time.

“It’s your mom Liam. Just come to Preston’s Hospital Room 312. Please hurry.” Then the call ended.

Preston’s Hospital. I knew that place..

I hit the gas hard with the car speeding as I weaved through the evening traffic while my mind kept thinking the worst. All the stress had been hard on her and now…

I skidded into the hospital lot sometime later and ran toward the entrance ignoring the securities annoyed look. I pushed through the doors and ran straight to the reception desk.

“Room 312 please! It’s my mom Mrs. Carter.” I said breathlessly.

The receptionist looked up and her face softened.

“Third floor turn right after the elevators. Room 312 is at the end of the hall.”

I didn’t wait. I rushed to the elevators pressing the “up“ button again and again until the doors opened..

Finally the doors opened. I ran down the hall checking the room numbers. When I saw 312 I paused,

Liam's POVIt was with an anxious spirit that we all followed Sarah back into the room and straight to the corner where she had set up her workstation.I could tell that the others were also as agitated as I was and were all eager to know what was up with Sarah's excitement. I really hoped this wasn't bad news!Sarah finally pulled back her chair and sat down. She had been busy trying to extract data from the computers Melissa had damaged. The moment we cleaned the warehouse, she went to work and would only stop for the occasional sleep and eating.“So with the way I normally fortify my systems, extracting data from the damaged computers was really difficult..” She said as she typed on her computer.“But you did. Right?” I asked impatiently.“I never said it was impossible.” She shrugged. “It only took time. But I've done it.” She opened a folder and turned the laptop towards us. “I've successfully recovered all that we've gathered on Blackwood since day one!”“That's great news!” Loc

  • CHAPTER 166

Liam's POV“I know what I'm telling you!” Tobias snapped impatiently. “Blackwood was behind it!”Tobias was really serious but I on the other hand didn't really know what I wanted to believe. Here we were in the abandoned warehouse but sitting on the roof in the evening.Tobias had just finished telling me all about his investigations and how he believed that Blackwood was behind my father's disappearance too.I had never put much thought into my father's disappearance. He had disappeared before I was born and nothing was heard of him since that day. He was dead no doubt I really didn't know why Tobias was digging into this now.“I have people who are into the Blackwood network.” Tobias continued. “I had them discreetly investigating on the inside but Blackwood knew. Immediately he did, those people disappeared without a trace too and he was coming for me! I'm lucky, Charles got to me before they did.”“What's that?” I asked with my eyes fixed on the horizon where a car was approachin

  • CHAPTER 165

Ryan's POVI immediately turned around to see the secretary reaching out her hand to hit the button that would immediately transfer the call to the father's line.I reacted before thinking twice. It seemed as if my body had reacted on its own. One moment I was standing there and the next moment I dashed to her desk and disconnected the call before it could go through.“Mr…Mr Blackwood?” The secretary stared up at me in shock. “Don't do that!” I said. “Pardon?” The secretary asked.“I'll take that call,” I said. “My father is busy now. Transfer that call immediately to my office.”“But..”“No buts!” I snapped at the secretary. “Do it now!” The lady was startled but quickly nodded.“What's going on?” Melissa frowned.“Wait here,” I told her. “Something I need to take care of.”Without waiting for her to ask more questions, I darted into my office, my former office where I worked until my father cruelly pushed me out to ride a cubicle. It didn't take long before the intercom rang and

  • CHAPTER 164

Ryan's POV“Ryan. I didn't know you would be here this early.” Father spoke up and motioned to a chair. “Have a seat, will you? You came right in time.”The seat he pointed at was the one right next to Melissa! That snake! For a moment I remained at the door in paralysis with my eyes locked on Melissa's. She was really here! She was really sitting here at Blackwood Corp in my father's office!“Hello, Ryan,” Melissa called sweetly to me.I said nothing. If Melissa was here and was talking to Father, what would stop her from spilling the beans that I was working with Liam?!“Are you going to come in? Or are you going to stand there?” Father asked.I had no other alternatives now. I knew fully well that to turn back and leave the room would be to clearly declare that I was officially against my father which was something I didn't want him to realize.I slowly dragged myself into the room and dropped into the empty chair beside Melissa's.“I don't need to introduce you to Melissa here,” F

Ryan's POVBLAM! BLAM!!I had dozed off when the shots abruptly got me to my feet immediately as well as everyone else! We were compromised! They were coming!Charles, Hans and Locke immediately hurried out of the house with their weapons drawn. Seriously, what were they going to do? Shoot at the feds? That was a really stupid move!I didn't know what to do so I hurried out after them. Liam was already down from the roof and staring out into the night.“Where are they? From which side are they coming?!” Locke asked quickly.“Just one person,” Liam replied uncertainly.“One person?” Charles furrowed his brows.“In that direction.” Liam pointed into the night. “could be Scratch!”Hearing that name alone sent icy-cold dread like a dagger through my heart. That man just wouldn't stop! We had seriously wounded him that day at Melissa's house but he had escaped and nothing was heard of him again.“Are you sure about this?” Locke asked. “Well, not particularly but I'm sure a man was hiding

  • CHAPTER 162

Liam's POV“Mason!” I exclaimed. “Mason Wells?!”I had dedicated a lot of time searching for him. I had gone through all the nooks and crannies. I came across just to find Mason but I must admit that I never really believed that I'd ever find him but here he was!Mason didn't smile or anything. He looked even weaker than Hans and appeared to be jumpy with his eyes darting here and there in fear. I understood that he would take a while to recover from the horror he's been through or perhaps he might never recover.“I found it in one of the Blackwood's secret warehouses I raided,” Locke explained. “The boy had been kept for a long time for reasons we don't really understand and he was lucky I found him that day. You see Liam, most of us have been busy too.”I nodded in acknowledgment. Locke had done perhaps even more than I had ever done and I was grateful for that. I was happy that he had given his all to fight the corrupt system that had stripped him of his position when he chose to b
