"Joseph Wilson, what are you doing here?" Fiona walked over upon seeing Joseph.
"What a coincidence. I'm here to buy a couple of outfits!" Joseph said with a faint smile.
"Buy clothes? Do you know what kind of place this is? The shirts here start at $1,000. Can you afford the clothes here?" Hearing Joseph's words, Fiona's gaze became even more disdainful. She had previously thought this man was just mediocre, but she didn't expect him to be such a braggart.
During the three years in the Cooper family, Joseph either did housework at home or went elsewhere to do odd jobs to earn some pocket money.
But the little money he earned was definitely not enough to afford the clothes here.
"Ahem... Miss Cooper, we're already divorced. Whether I can afford it or not doesn't seem to have anything to do with you," Joseph coughed lightly, neither humble nor arrogant.
"Joseph, stop pretending. I don't even want to point it out. You're stalking me, right?"
"Joseph, let me tell you, we're already divorced. Don't pester me. We're impossible. I can't even look up to someone like you. We're not from the same world," Fiona said sharply.
"I'm not. You're overthinking it," Joseph said helplessly, shrugging his shoulders. This woman had too high of an opinion of herself.
She did have some good looks, but he wouldn't go as far as to stalk her.
"You're not? Joseph Wilson, you dare to do it but not admit it. What kind of man are you?" Fiona said furiously.
"Joseph, what do you think of this set? I feel like you'd definitely look handsome wearing it," Alice came back at this moment, happily holding two sets of clothes.
But when she arrived in front of Joseph, she noticed a woman standing with him.
"Heh, Joseph Wilson, no wonder you signed the divorce agreement so readily. It turns out you had a woman outside even before we got divorced."
"Joseph Wilson, I didn't expect you to be so good at being a kept man," Fiona said, apparently somewhat surprised upon seeing Alice.
This young girl's appearance was not inferior to her own, but she had the advantage of youth. Youth was a woman's capital.
"She... she's my sister!" Joseph said, feeling somewhat speechless.
However, Alice was unhappy hearing Joseph say this.
"What sister? Clearly your girlfriend! Didn't you say last night that I was your only little darling? You even said you wanted to marry me and have a child," Alice grabbed Joseph's arm, pouted her lips, looking very dissatisfied with Joseph's answer.
"Joseph, I really didn't expect you to have such capabilities," Fiona glared at Joseph furiously.
"Little girl, let me give you a piece of advice. Don't be fooled by a man's sweet words."
"If he could get involved with you before the divorce, who knows if he'll get involved with other women in the future," Fiona said to Alice, looking like she was giving sincere advice.
"I won't trouble you with that. If I were a man and had a nagging shrew at home with a sour face every day, I'd go out and find women every day," Alice said, seeming unconcerned.
"What did you say?" Fiona frowned, evidently getting angry.
"Women from the Cooper family are indeed not worthy of my Joseph," Alice said, raising her head slightly, confronting Fiona.
"Ahem, Miss Cooper, why don't you say less? I didn't intend to interact with you in the first place. And I really came here to buy clothes, not to stalk you. You're really overthinking it," Joseph also looked like he was giving sincere advice. He wasn't someone who easily got angry. Moreover, he didn't want to continue entangling with Fiona Cooper, who was the real adulterer.
"Buzz buzz buzz..."
Suddenly, Fiona's phone rang. She answered the call directly.
"What's the matter?" Fiona asked.
"Fiona, there's a problem with dozens of cooperation projects between the company and the Morgan Group. The family wants us to go back immediately. I can't explain it clearly over the phone. Come back right away, and we'll go together," Maria Long's anxious voice came from the other end of the line.
"What? How could this happen? I'll return immediately," Fiona hung up the phone in a hurry.
"I hope you behave yourself!"
"And you, Joseph Wilson, I don't want to see you in Nova City again in the future," Fiona left a few words for Joseph and Alice, then hurriedly left.
Seeing this scene, Joseph could only feel helpless. Fiona used to be just cold to him, but now it seemed she harbored hatred, because of Charles Martin?
"Joseph, you've endured this woman for three years. It must have been quite hard," Alice said, feeling somewhat distressed.
"It's alright. Anyway, we weren't really husband and wife. Those things were all arranged by my master. I don't know why he arranged it that way," Joseph said with a bitter smile.
"Joseph, take a look at this outfit. Come with me. Besides this one, there are a few more sets I want to buy for you," Alice pulled Joseph's hand and went to another area.
In the end, under Alice's persuasion, they spent nearly ten thousand dollars on clothes, basically buying clothes for the next few years.
The feeling of a woman spending money on him felt very strange to Joseph.
"Um, I'll pay you back when I have money in the future," Joseph said after Alice got in the car at Westfield Shopping Centers.
"Joseph, what are you saying? This little amount of money is nothing. Grandpa gives me a lot of pocket money every month. I can't spend it all by myself. I still have quite a bit saved on my card," Alice shook her head upon hearing this.
"Ahem... Your Morgan family may not lack money, but as a man, spending a girl's money always feels a bit odd," Joseph said somewhat awkwardly.
"What does it matter? I'm happy to spend money for Joseph. If possible, I'm willing to spend money on Joseph for a lifetime," Alice chuckled, sticking out her tongue, looking a bit mischievous.
"Alright then! Why don't we not eat out? Let's go back, and I'll cook something delicious for you," Joseph suggested.
"Great, great! I haven't tasted Joseph's cooking yet. Hehe, I'm so looking forward to it!" Alice was as happy as a lark upon hearing this.
"Then let's go. On the way back, we'll buy some ingredients," Joseph started the car.
Nearly an hour later, Joseph parked the car in front of the apartment.
"Joseph, I suddenly remembered that I forgot to buy you something very important. I'll go out and buy some first. There's a convenience store in the neighborhood. You go up first, and I'll go buy it for you now," Alice said to Joseph after getting out of the car.
"Huh? What important thing?" Joseph looked at Alice and asked.
"Don't worry about it. You'll know when I buy it. You go up quickly. I'll be back soon," Alice's pretty face blushed slightly. After gently pushing Joseph, she left as if escaping.
Naturally, such details didn't escape Joseph's eyes.
"What is she buying? So secretive? Even her face turned red!" Joseph muttered softly, seeing Alice's departing figure, but still went upstairs.

"Only questionable data requires experimental verification. If it's fine, there's no need to re-test it," Joseph replied without looking up."How can you tell just by looking? What, do you think I’m a computer? I don’t have every set of data memorized, nor can I instantly calculate the right results," Mason grumbled."My memory’s not bad. Professor Martin’s data, results, clinical outcomes—I may have worked on or read them before. Once I finish my own work, I’ll take a look for you," Joseph said, glancing at her."Really?" Mason’s eyes lit up."Just a look. If I spot any problems at a glance, I’ll point them out. That way, you won’t have to go through it line by line," Joseph clarified."That’s already a huge help. It’ll save me so much time and boost my efficiency," Mason said, warmth spreading through her chest. Her admiration for Joseph grew. This man might look sluggish most of the time, but when it mattered—he delivered. That’s what a real man was: someone who came through when i

"I’m just jealous of Mr. Wilson. He gets to enjoy this every day.""Some people are just born lucky. I’ve said it so many times, I’m tired of being jealous," Mason sighed dramatically, as if truly lamenting her fate."You’re impossible. Can you act normal for once?" Alice muttered while straightening her clothes. After about twenty minutes, Joseph parked the car in front of a fresh market.Knowing they were here for groceries, Mason eagerly hopped out."Mr. Wilson, I’m starving. I'm expecting a feast!" she declared enthusiastically. The two women entered the store and promptly raided the shelves, grabbing anything delicious and expensive.By the end of their spree, they had stocked up enough food for at least two days.Never underestimate a woman’s shopping instinct—even at a grocery store, once the mood hit, there was no stopping them.Roughly half an hour later, they returned to the car with bags in both hands.Another ten minutes passed before Joseph pulled up in front of the villa

“And even if it’s just the two of us—what, are you afraid I’ll eat you alive?”Joseph cleared his throat, flustered. “That’s not what I meant. If that’s how it is, then fine. I’ve got work anyway, might as well get it done at home.”“Our work’s the same, remember?” Mason added, raising her brows. “Professor Sanchez already sent everything to our emails. You should’ve received it too.”“It’s Charles Martin’s academic records, his papers, research results, and some experimental data.”Joseph quickly opened his inbox to check—sure enough, the files had arrived.“Working from home is fine,” Joseph muttered. “But I only have a desktop in my bedroom, no laptop. And if we’re working together… in my room… that’s just weird.”Mason shot him a look. “What’s so weird about it? A room is for sleeping, yes, but it’s also for working.”“Mr. Wilson, what exactly are you thinking? Or are you worried you’ll lose control and try something inappropriate while working?”Joseph sat up straight, exasperate

“No problem,” Joseph responded calmly. The task at hand was manageable, and he would see it completed.“Well then, Mr. Wilson, that’s all from my side. If you’re busy, feel free to go,” Harris said after glancing at the clock.Joseph checked the time himself—it was almost time for his next class.“It’s getting late. I have a lecture coming up—I’ll take my leave,” he said.He bid farewell to Harris and Sanchez and turned to go.“Mr. Wilson—” Harris called out just as Joseph reached the door.“Yes, Principal Harris?” Joseph turned back.“If any students express confusion or concern about your situation, please explain it to them patiently.”“I will. You have my word,” Joseph replied with a warm smile before stepping out.“Principal, from what I’ve seen on the forums, most of the students are supporting Mr. Wilson. His own students practically revere him. I doubt there’ll be any misunderstanding,” Leonard Sanchez remarked once Joseph had left.“That may be so, but I worry about unexpecte

“I see. So Brian Adams holds quite a high-ranking position. And he’s rather mysterious—I've asked around, but no one seems to know much about him,” Joseph replied, beginning to piece things together. It was a relief to know the man truly existed. That alone gave him a direction to follow. He hoped Brian Adams could shed light on past events—and possibly help guide his next steps.“It’s not unusual that people aren’t familiar with Brian Adams,” Harris said with a chuckle. “The College of Military Command operates almost as a separate entity. While they fall under my jurisdiction, they enjoy considerable autonomy.”“I rarely interfere in their affairs. Due to the differing professional focuses, there’s minimal interaction between campuses. As a result, both faculty and students often remain strangers to each other.”“Mr. Harris, Professor Sanchez—could you tell me more about this Brian Adams?” Joseph asked. The two men exchanged a glance.“Old Sanchez, why don’t you take this one? "Even if Jonathan’s plan doesn’t work, I’ve got other avenues. I’ve reached out to some big names on the street. Once I get the go-ahead, I’ll make Joseph wish he’d never been born."Griffin Bailey’s eyes gleamed as he tried to curry favor."Hey, don’t hog the credit. I pulled strings too—you weren’t the only one. Don’t be so stingy with recognition."Scrappy shot him a look, clearly annoyed.Griffin Bailey glanced back, unimpressed."You all did well. Especially you, Jonathan. Sure, you killed my vibe earlier, but if this ends up ruining Joseph’s name, I’ll forgive it."Raymond’s irritation finally began to subside."Mr. Kim, you promised me a reward last time—a three-hundred-pound foreign beauty!"Jonathan rubbed his hands together, grinning sheepishly."You really have a thing for heavyweights, huh?"Raymond shot him a glare."Didn’t you just fall for a blonde foreigner yourself? You’ll come to appreciate the... depth they offer."Jonathan chuckled shyly."Shut up. One word and I’l
