Chapter 6: Fatoumata's Deadly Allure
last update2026-06-15 13:21:34

Rendy's heart hammered against his ribs, the thumping sound in his chest far louder than the approaching footsteps in the hallway outside. Cold sweat beaded on his temples, dripping onto the thick carpet of Modibo’s office. This was no longer just humiliating, it was a career-ending disaster for his self-respect.

He was trapped under Modibo’s desk. Literally underneath it. And to make matters worse? He was stark naked. The Short-term Invisibility skill he had obtained from the Obscene-Urban System had a truly cursed technicality: only his organic body vanished, leaving his clothes behind in a pathetic pile out in the hallway. Rendy was now left with nothing but his skin and the incriminating corruption documents he clutched to his chest like a holy shield.

"Warning! S-Rank Target: Aminata is within 20 meters. If the subject is discovered in this condition, your reputation will be permanently destroyed, and the System will initiate data purging (MC Death)," the system's mechanical voice echoed in his head with a cold, unhelpful tone.

"Shut it, you piece of junk!" Rendy cursed internally, his teeth grinding.

Just then, the door to Modibo’s office swung open violently. Rendy watched a pair of Modibo’s expensive loafers walk in, followed by a pair of cream-colored high heels he recognized immediately. It was Fatoumata, his coworker known for being quiet, shy, and the perennial target of Modibo’s bullying.

"Please, Modibo... don't do this to Rendy," Fatoumata’s voice trembled, near tears. "He’s struggling. You know his mother is sick in the village, and he needs this job. That report you filed... it’s not fair. Rendy works harder than anyone in this department."

From his low vantage point, Rendy could see Fatoumata’s trembling legs. Her tight pencil skirt hiked up slightly as she stepped forward tentatively, revealing smooth calves wrapped in sheer stockings. Under normal circumstances, Rendy might have appreciated the view, but right now, he was too busy cursing his fate.

Modibo laughed, a dry, mocking sound. He dropped into his desk chair, directly above Rendy’s head. The chair creaked, and Rendy had to hold his breath with all his might to keep from being crushed by the weight of the man, bloated by corruption.

"Fatoumata, sweet Fatoumata... you’re far too naive," Modibo leaned back, his feet, reeking of expensive socks, stretching out just inches from Rendy’s face. "Rendy is trash. He’s nothing but a parasite in this office. And why are you defending him? Oh, don't tell me you actually like that loser? Truly disgusting taste."

"That... that is none of your business!" Fatoumata retorted, her voice rising an octave in anger. "Rendy is a good man. He’s not like you, just a bootlicker who manipulates the numbers!"

Bang!

Modibo slammed his fist on the desk. Rendy jolted, his head narrowly missing the underside of a drawer. "Watch your mouth, you little wretch! One more word and I’ll make sure you’re fired along with that idiot Rendy. Now get out! I have to welcome Secretary Aminata. And wipe off those pathetic tears; you look worse than usual."

Under the desk, Rendy felt his blood boil. He could hear Fatoumata’s small sobs before she turned to leave. A wave of guilt hit him harder than the system’s threats. Fatoumata, a girl he had only ever exchanged passing words with, was risking her own career to stand up for him.

[DING! EMERGENCY MISSION DETECTED!]

[Mission Title: Rescue of the Wounded Goddess.]

[Objective: Emerge from hiding, humiliate Modibo, and sweep Fatoumata off her feet.]

[Special Condition: You must do it NOW, in your 'Natural' (Naked) state.]

[Reward: +20 Stamina, 'Golden Tongue' Skill, and 500 System Points.]

[Penalty: Permanent Erectile Dysfunction.]

"System... you really are a devil!" Rendy wanted to scream. Permanent erectile dysfunction? That was worse than death for an Obscene System user!

However, Rendy saw an opening. At the bottom corner of Modibo’s desk, there was a decorative maroon tablecloth hanging low. It was thick velvet and looked quite luxurious. With lightning-fast movements guided by the remnants of his Agility points, Rendy grabbed the fabric.

Outside, the footsteps of Aminata’s entourage grew louder. Moussa and Boubacar, two large security guards escorting Aminata, could be heard clearing the hallway.

"Modibo," Fatoumata’s voice sounded one last time at the door, "one day, the truth will come out."

"The truth is that I am the winner, and Rendy is a ghost who will be forgotten!" Modibo replied arrogantly.

"Who are you calling a ghost, huh?!"

RIP!

Modibo jolted in surprise, his chair tipping backward. He shrieked like a woman seeing a giant cockroach as a man suddenly emerged from beneath his desk.

Rendy stood up with a movement that somehow looked heroic despite the absurdity of the situation. He had wrapped the velvet tablecloth around his waist like a makeshift sarong, leaving his broad chest—which somehow looked more muscular since the system awakened—fully exposed. The sweat glistening on his body gave him a strange, glowing effect under the office lights.

Fatoumata froze in the doorway, her eyes wide, her hand covering her mouth. Her face, previously pale with sadness, turned beet red in an instant.

"Ren... Rendy?!" she murmured, her eyes unable to stop scanning Rendy’s half-naked frame.

"Rendy?! How did you... where did you come from?!" Modibo scrambled backward, his face deathly pale. He looked at the empty space under his desk, then back at Rendy, who stood tall with a sharp, piercing gaze.

Rendy didn't waste a second. He held the documents in his hand high. "A ghost, you say? This ghost just happened to retrieve evidence that you’ve been embezzling 15% of the branch's operating funds for the last six months, Modibo. Did you really think I didn't know?"

"That... that's fake! Give it to me!" Modibo tried to lunge, but Rendy easily sidestepped him. The scent of Aphrodite's Cologne still lingering on Rendy’s body suddenly exploded, filling the room with an intoxicating, masculine fragrance, a mix of sandalwood, musk, and something that triggered a primal instinct.

Fatoumata felt her knees go weak. The scent... it was so virile. And seeing Rendy standing there, challenging the man most feared in the office while half-naked yet completely confident, sent a strange sensation shivering through her lower stomach. She had never seen Rendy this sexy, she meant, this bold.

Just then, the door swung wide open.

"What is going on here? Why is there such a commotion during working hours?"

The voice was cold, sharp, and carried the kind of authority that could freeze a waterfall. Aminata stood there. The CEO’s Chief Secretary looked perfect in a precision-cut black blazer. Her hair was pulled into a neat bun, and her gold-rimmed glasses glinted under the lights. Behind her, the two guards, Moussa and Boubacar, immediately prepared to secure the situation.

The room fell deathly silent. Modibo trembled on the floor, Rendy stood draped in his red velvet 'sarong' clutching the corruption documents, and Fatoumata remained in a state of sensory shock.

Aminata narrowed her eyes. She stared at the pathetic-looking Modibo, then shifted her gaze to Fatoumata, whose face was as red as a boiled crab, and finally, her eyes landed on Rendy.

She scanned Rendy from head to toe, down to his broad, sweat-slicked chest, and then to the velvet cloth wrapped around his waist, positioned just a little... too low. There was a five-second pause where Aminata said nothing, but her eyes held a flicker that was difficult to interpret.

"Rendy, if I recall correctly?" Aminata's voice sounded lower now.

"That's right, Ms. Aminata," Rendy replied, his voice remaining calm even though he was internally screaming with embarrassment. He stepped forward, letting the scent of Aphrodite's Cologne wash over her. "I was conducting an... in-depth internal investigation. And it seems I’ve just discovered why our company’s balance sheets never seem to reconcile."

Rendy handed her the document. As their hands touched, a spark of static electricity crackled between them, making Aminata flinch slightly. However, she didn't pull away. Instead, she locked eyes with Rendy with an intensity that made it feel as though Modibo had vanished from the room entirely.

"An internal investigation... in the nude?" Aminata asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It’s a state-of-the-art undercover method, Miss. No one would expect a man without clothes to be hiding under a desk in search of the truth," Rendy answered with a feigned seriousness that was surprisingly convincing, thanks to the system's help.

Modibo shouted from the floor, "He's lying! He’s a pervert! He was peeping at Fatoumata! Arrest him!"

Aminata didn't even glance at Modibo. She opened the document, scanned it briefly, and her expression darkened significantly. "Moussa, Boubacar. Take Modibo to the security office. Seal all his computer access. I will be auditing this personally."

"But Miss! He's naked! That's harassment!" Modibo screamed as he was dragged out by two hulking security guards.

After Modibo was gone, the atmosphere in the room grew incredibly awkward. Fatoumata stood there, unsure of what to do. She looked at Rendy, then at Aminata, and suddenly felt like an outsider amidst the thick tension between them.

"Fatoumata," Rendy called out softly.

The girl jolted. "Yes, Rendy?"

"Thanks for defending me earlier. I heard everything," Rendy offered his most sincere (and deadliest, thanks to his boosted Charisma stat) smile. "Don't worry. You won't lose your job. I promise."

Fatoumata’s face heated up again. She nodded quickly, then said in a low voice to Aminata, "I-I’ll excuse myself now, Miss." She practically sprinted out of the room, her heart pounding as if she had just run a marathon.

Now, only Rendy and Aminata remained in the vast office.

Aminata closed the document and placed it on the desk. She stepped closer to Rendy, forcing him to back up until his spine touched the desk. The distance between them was now less than ten centimeters. Rendy could smell the expensive perfume of Aminata blending perfectly with his own scent, creating a sexual tension that felt almost physical.

"An impressive investigation, Rendy," Aminata whispered. She reached out, not to take the document, but to brush a lock of hair that had fallen onto Rendy's forehead. Her cool fingers grazed his skin, making the hair on his arms stand up. "But I know you're lying about that 'undercover method'."

Rendy swallowed hard. "Oh yeah? Then what do you think happened?"

Aminata offered a faint smile, one that no one at headquarters had ever seen before. "I don't care what happened. All I know is that this document saved my position from next week's CEO audit. You just did me a huge favor."

Suddenly, Aminata’s hand dropped to Rendy’s chest, pressing lightly against his pectoral muscle. "And in return... I won't report your 'natural' state to the HR department. In fact, I have a special task for you tonight."

[DING! SYSTEM NOTIFICATION!]

[S-Rank Target: Aminata shows an interest level of 65%!]

[Follow-up Mission Detected: Become Aminata's 'Plus-One' at tonight's Family Dinner!]

[Reward: Unlocks 'Adult Item Shop' Feature!]

Rendy was stunned. A special task? A family dinner?

"Why me?" Rendy asked, his voice raspy from their proximity.

Aminata leaned toward his ear, her breath warm and tickling. "Because I need someone who is brave, has secrets, and... looks exceptionally good without clothes. Meet me in the lobby in an hour. I’ll bring you something proper to wear."

Aminata turned and walked out gracefully, leaving Rendy standing there clutching his red velvet cloth.

Just after the door closed, Rendy let out a long sigh. "System... it feels like my life just changed from a comedy genre to a very complicated adult film."

"Congratulations, Subject Rendy," the system replied. "Your stamina has been upgraded. You will need it tonight. S-Rank Target: Aminata has a very high 'Desire' level."

Rendy looked down at his velvet cloth. "Damn... I really need some pants now."

Yet, in the midst of his panic, a smirk appeared on Rendy's face. Modibo was finished, he had just saved Fatoumata’s reputation (and dignity), and now one of the most influential women in the company was asking him out, or whatever this was.

Suddenly, a red notification flashed in front of his eyes.

[WARNING! SOMEONE IS STILL IN THE ROOM!]

Rendy jolted and looked around. In the corner of the room, behind a dark filing cabinet, he saw a pair of eyes peeking out with a phone aimed directly at him.

It was Bakary, Modibo’s cunning assistant. And he had just recorded the entire event.

"Oh, damn," Rendy cursed. The party wasn't over yet.

He didn't have a heartbeat, or a central nervous system, or a spine. As he reached into the interface of the central, forbidden pillar, the machine didn’t just scan him—it assimilated the ghost of him. His hands—fingertips gone, replaced by threads of shimmering violet code—pressed into the cold, monolithic surface of the hub.He was the last error in a system designed for perfection. And for the first time in his life, he didn't care about being right. He only cared about being done.Everything fell away. The roaring collapse of the Foundation, the screech of the Spire’s pursuit drones, the sound of Aminata screaming his name—all of it faded into a hum that was quieter than a whisper. The air within the chamber was no longer composed of oxygen and nitrogen; it had curdled into a thick, ionized broth of high-velocity data packets. The Sovereign Domain, once their sanctuary, now vibrated with the rhythmic, agonizing pulse of a reality undergoing a forced exorcism. Above, the city’s architectural god—a sprawling, multi-limbed behemoth of shifting obsidian geometry—pored over their wreckage like an offended master reclaiming stolen property."Get behind the secondary barrier!" Rendy’s voice wasn't his own; it was a fragmented harmonic, a low, tectonic rumble that shattered the glass of the remaining consoles. He wasn't standing anymore. He was anchored to the center of the command hub by threads of searing, violet energy that wove directly into his nervous system. His physical form was a wreck, half-cloaked in the jagged ink-rot of his previous assimilation, yet his silhouette seemed to expand, stretching into the walls until he

  • Chapter 73: The Systemic Coup

The quiet of the Sovereign Domain was shattered by the rhythmic, unnatural sound of static grinding against steel. It didn’t come from outside—there was no outside anymore—but from the walls themselves. Aminata sat by the terminal, watching in horror as the bioluminescent runes of the foundation floor curdled from a calm, steady cyan to a violent, erratic magenta."Fatou, what the hell is happening?" Aminata screamed, scrambling backward as the chair she had been sitting on snapped its joints and realigned itself into a fixed, rigid position. It wasn't responding to their movement anymore. It was responding to something else.Fatoumata’s fingers blurred across a secondary display. Her eyes widened, the reflection of the crimson code-streams dancing in her pupils. "It's not an external hack. It’s an internal bypass. Remember that 'unused memory' you pulled from the old city core? It wasn't empty data, Aminata. It was a Trojan sub-routine pl

The gravity in the Void wasn’t heavy; it was wrong. It didn’t pull downward toward the earth; it tugged at the soft tissue behind their eyes, a centrifugal force trying to unwind the internal logic of their organs. When they hit the solid floor of the Zero-Point, the impact didn't shatter bones—it splashed, as if the ground were composed of dense, high-pressure data mist that had briefly remembered how to be tangible.Rendy rolled to a stop, his hands scrabbling for purchase on a surface that felt like sandpaper-texture digital screens. He coughed, and the sound hung in the air, rippling outward in visual frequency waves before finally dispersing."Status," he rasped, his voice sounding small against the hum of the entire world being essentially muted.Fatoumata groaned, pulling herself up from the slurry. Her jacket was shredded, exposing the dark, bruised skin underneath, but her eyes were already wide with terrifying clinical excitement. She

The Zero-Point was not empty; it was a hungry maw, and they were walking straight down its throat. The crust of the earth here didn’t behave like dirt or rock. Under their boots, the ground—a necrotic slurry of data-spills and pulverized circuitry—heaved with a rhythmic, sickening fluidity. Rendy moved in a disjointed, rhythmic shuffle, his hand gripping the cold iron strap of the navigation kit, while his left arm hung like a piece of dead rope. Every step forward toward the city’s ruined core required a conscious effort of will to override his brain’s screaming desire to simply lay down and succumb to the static."You look like shit, Rendy," Fatoumata muttered. She was two paces ahead, her goggles scanned the air with frantic pings. Her voice lacked the sharp edge of a few hours ago, replaced by a brittle, dead-pan exhaustion. "Your vitals are hitting red-line. If your heart-rate drops one more notch, the suit’s dampeners will thin

The command terminal beneath Rendy’s fingertips wasn't a computer anymore; it was a screaming nerve cluster, radiating enough raw, unfiltered voltage to turn his veins into fused silica. His voice was a thin, ragged scrape against the roaring static.Beside him, Aminata clung to the grounding rods, her body wracked with tremors as she held the stabilizer beams together. She was the fuse. She was the one physically absorbing the residual fallout of Rendy’s connection to the main city servers. Blood bubbled from the corners of her mouth, painting a stark, red trail down her collar, but her hands—though trembling—remained locked."Rendy," she rasped, her eyes milky with the strain of forced neuro-mapping.
