Caught Red Handed

Chapter One

The blue building stood out like a gigantic mansion in the midst of smaller houses. 

The light on was an indication of its affluent and wealth. 

Moving carefully with the package parcel, Leo had one mission in mind - deliver the parcel and get the hell out of the hotel. 

His detest for hotels was uncalled-for, and tends to blind his vision to the responsibility shouldered on him. 

But responsibilities needed to be executed, irrespective of his personal demons. 

Arriving at the destined room, Leo released the breath he never knew had been locked up in the depth of his stomach. 

He breathed in steadily. Briskly, he knocked on the door.

"Hey, who is there?" A male smooth voice called from inside.

Not having a chance to respond, Leo watched silently as the door swung open, revealing a tall, dark guy with a broad chest. 

He was half naked and flirting with a blonde lady next to him. 

His wife.

Her soft laughter resonated in the room, causing his heart to somersault.

Leo's heart shattered at the scene. His gaze held so many conflicting emotions. 

His breath itched. 

Could the day get any worse than this? The mist slowly forming in his eyes blinded his vision for a moment. 

Different thoughts clouded his mind within the space of a mini second.

Suddenly distracted, Mathew glanced towards the intruder. His fury unconcealed behind his brownish eyes. 

The unexpected interruption seemed to irk him more than he had expected. 

"Hey bastard! You've got nothing reasonable to do with your fucking life? Why are you standing there with your mouth wide open? Cat caught your tongue?"

Mathew's voice forced a smiling Selena to glance in his direction.

Damn!

Her heart palpitated in their rib cage. 

Her face paled, growing white. Fuck! 

What the fuck was Leo doing here in their hotel room? Checking her out, Selena felt exposed. She was being accessed.

"What the fuck! Why in hell did you come here, Leo?" 

Selena spat the question seconds before she could reel it back. 

The intention to spurt out such an outrageous question was not her objective, but damn her mouth for ruining it all.

The fear in her eyes was quickly concealed as she fluttered her eyelashes flirtatiously at Mathew, sharing a secret smile.

"You!" 

Leo shrieked, pointing an index finger at Selena.

 "You have been cheating on me. You've been having an affair behind my back, right?" 

He lurched forward. 

His fist clenched behind him. 

The desire to snap life out of her crept upon him.

"Of all the guys, why choose to go for this?" He gestured disdainfully at Mathew.

His grip on the parcel tightened instantly as his vision blurred. All he saw was red and a fury blazing uncontrollably.

"You!" Mathew smiled, amused by his action.

Recognition set into his features as he stared at Leo. 

To him, Leo was just a useless loser who got lucky and married to Gregory's family. 

A family with intense wealth, power and fame.

Gregory's family was well known internationally and nationally for their great wealth and companies with a net worth of billion dollars annually.

"The crown that wasn't fit to be identified with the Gregory's family." He scorned. 

"Now apologize for raising your voice at Selena. You've got no fucking right to react after discovering she cheated on you. Every lady cheats, yours can't be exempted." 

All amounts of amusement vanished immediately from Mathew's face as he glared maliciously at him.

Leo remained mute, with the dreaded feelings of helplessness. 

The dark fury in him seethes slowly, begging for a release.

"Apologize now! Or I will report you for being rude."

Leo weighed the option left for him. 

There was no way in hell he was going to apologize when Selena was guilty of cheating. 

Her nonchalant attitude even when caught further infuriated him. 

Slowly scrutinizing their faces, and disappointed, Leo stormed out without a backward glance.

"Where the hell are you going, bastard? Get down here and lay out your reasons for being here! Bastard!"

"You watch us have some fun if you don't mind being the third wheeler." Selena drawled teasingly.

Selena's voice followed him out. 

It shattered his heart, breaking the remaining defense block that held his sanity together. 

The tears he had been concealing and controlling flowed like rivers of joy. His reddish face remained fixed to the ground.

It hurt. 

The feeling of being betrayed was new to him.

Leo never bothered feigning indifferent. Hell! He was devastated. Being disappointed was an understatement. He felt cheated. It felt like the world had suddenly closed behind him. 

Dejectedly, Leo made his way out of the building just as his phone rang noisily.

Pulling it out, Leo glanced at the caller ID. Gently, he wiped his tears.

"Hello." A male cheerful voice called out. 

The old man's voice was easy to identify despite his devastated mood. Leo was grateful for the call, as it was nothing but a distraction to his wandering mind.

"Hey!"

"I have got some news for you. Your next mission is to be the CEO of D&K company." The old man announced.

Leo listened attentively, not in any way surprised.

 D&K was a multi-billion dollar company, a dream job of all the graduates, including those who have been employed by another company.

"Alright. Anytime you want it. I am always ready."

 Leo replied calmly, despite the conflicting emotions surrounding him with the aim of suffocating him.

"How is Selena? Are you going to let her be the heir to Gregory's family?"

Tension descended like a thick cloud as Kelvin dropped the question. It never crossed his mind except at that moment.

Leo's mouth clammed shut at the question. His eyes gazed into space with an icy, cold expression. 

Was he going to let Selene be the heir to Gregory's family?

"No!" 

The cold answer slipped out of his tongue. His face was devoid of any emotions. 

"I don't think so!”
