It still hurt home everywhere, in his dreams and everything he had done since that fateful night, he could still picture Brock's body hitting the ground. He was forced to drink to take the thought away from his mind, but it was stuck in.
Even under the blankets, the night air felt cold as it freezes over his chest till that chilly air stings his lungs, and he groans heavily, he states the clock by his bedside, and groans when he sees what the time was.
His fault was curled into a ball, shivering— He shut his eyes only to open them when he heard that bullet sound again at the back of his mind.
Similar to the most tragic point of his life, it was raining heavily. A turn clasped, forcing him to open his eyes to the surrounding darkness and swore heavily as he pulled himself away to the switch—The light isn’t on, and the hum of the rain as it patterned against the window filled the room.
It’s too cold. As he drew in a deep breath, sitting up in bed, feeling around for
Anything with a power source, when his hands curled around his phone, he turned up the light and made his way to the wardrobe, returning with the necklace Brock gave him.
Could this be the reason for torments?
He wrapped himself back in the blankets, hoping that the hour would pass along with the heaviness in his chest. But the wind hadn't stopped.
As he howls, he presses his body deeper into the mattress with the necklace held in his hands.
.
His teeth chatted, and his breath was shallow. He could feel goosebumps rising in every inch of his body, but as his eyes closed to embrace a nightmare, all that filled his mind was him— Brock.
How ironic!
*****
It had been a week since Brock died and his ghost still governs their heart, most especially Logan's.
The first few days after his death had been tormenting, he woke each morning after the previous night's unrest, staring out at the field that looked to be a distance away.
His gaze settled on the orchid tree in the far distance, and reluctantly he reached up to his necklace — Brock necklace.
Logan had tasked himself into believing that Brock was sleeping peacefully, in another realm that was void of the trouble he was in presently, with no one hanging after him.
With a deep sigh, he stepped away from the window. He dressed quickly in the morning, as soon as he was making his way down the stoat, jangling the keys in his hands.
As she walked past Joanne's door, he thought about stopping in to check on her. She had been quiet ever since that night, and he was starting to dread the fact that she blamed him.
He was about to knock but with fear ranging in his mind, he stopped and, with his hands midair and walked away —
For a minute he thought about how she had survived the previous night. He wondered if she had found herself a lover in the way he had seen her do most times, only to send them away the next day.
As he backed away, he could have sworn to himself that he heard the lock to her door rattling, and he thought to himself if she was about to step out and backed away.
He continued with his long walk, stopping only when he reached the garage—
Outside, the scent of the wet soil caresses him with an after fall wind as his heart races.
He stood for a while before getting into the car. His phone buzzed with a notification, and he checked it on for a memo that popped up on his screen. It was Joan's second message since the death of Brock, so he was assuming the meeting had something to do with it.
The drive was so quick that he wished he had taken a walk instead, or perhaps he was too self-absorbed to enjoy the lush scenery all surrounding the estate where he had stopped.
His temporary identification card allows him through the parking gate with an electronic beep. For a minute, he stays in the car with his head against the steering wheel. Slowly he could feel worry gnawing in his chest.
“What am I doing here?” He whispers to himself. He was still finding it hard to believe he was living this life. He had a plan, but now as he stares at himself in the rearview mirror, it is hard to tell through that overwhelming feeling if he was still the same person from months ago. At this point, he’s starting to second-guess himself.
Was there anything for him to prove?
His fate was sealed the same way as Brock? As he empathized with his thoughts, he thought that perhaps someway he could find a way out of this.
He has already come this far, he might as well follow through—
He alighted from the car, still with the keys, making a jingling noise as he moved against the sidewalk as he made his way to the entrance.
He slowly makes his way to the front double doors.
When…
Damn.
He saw Joanne at the pool relaxing on the lounge chair with nothing but her bikini. His first attempt to walk past her was interrupted when she dropped her shades to the tip of her nose and beckoned at him.
"Logan!"
Inhaling the crisp air, he sighed to himself as he made his way to where she was —
"Good morning," He muttered.
She stared at him through the glass with a smirk on her face.
After what seemed like an eternity of staring, he started to look uncomfortable.
"Are you going to do that all day?"
He backed away and was about to leave when she held him by his wrist. Instantly, he could feel a volt of energy escape him.
"We need to talk." She muttered.
With the way she looked, he was inspired by her beauty, but he wouldn't let himself fall prey to any of it. He was not one of her cheap men.
"Well, not here … " She gazes around.
"Please, it is about the contract."

He walked afterwards, moving gently down the steps one at a time. At the moment he considered telling the word he just heard to her but didn't, at least not till he had his facts right. But if there was anything he would let himself believe, it was the fact that he found the mole and Brock of blessed memories was right after all. After what seemed like a moment later, Logan appeared, his thick hair mussed from the number of times he ran his fingers through them , he had a broody expression even bloodier than usual. As he walked away donning nothing but a sleeveless shirt, running shorts, and shoes with a gun strapped to his thigh. He stepped out to the gentle rays of the sunlight with nothing but his shoes with its lacing tagging along as he walked past the guard manning the door."Tell her that I went for a run if she asks." He had barely said the words when he saw her yawning as she made way down the step with running shoes as well.Apparently, It was Logan first time he was seeing this a

He turned and saw Wade stroll into the room, his gun still steaming, a dog wailing in the distance. "What did you do that for?" He questioned. "Were you blind to see that I was questioning him?""But …But, you were under duress, it is just normal I shoot. " Of all things that could be blamed it was surprising that he chose to do it in the most disgusting way and blame mere instincts. He was enraged, Wade's face turned red as he gasped for air, the other two men watched with eyes widened, the shock glistering in their eyes.He loosened his hands and Wade fell to the ground with a thug gasping for air. "Take care of the body." He picked up his bag. "He is yours now." ******Home, sweet home that should have been

Logan grunts and lifts the bag forcefully, ignoring the man’s cry in protest as the piece drags on his big ear. The man wails louder which only serves to annoy Logan even more he drags the bag so hard he is sure there will be a bruise the next day as proof of this moment.“I advise you to stop producing whatever sound it is you’re making right now if you like that particular part of his.” He orders, pinning a glare on the screaming banshee. What an excuse for a man.The crying immediately stops and Logan nods, “Now you have two options since I’m feeling quite generous tonight.” He begins but his smile is anything but generous, it’s a cross between a sinister smile and a glare. The man shifts in his seat despite the ropes binding him tightly to the chair.“You could either talk and I make it quick or…” He drawls, picking up a knife from the collection of sharps on a stool behind him. “You ke
