He stood right there in the middle of her room staring round at the spaces within, it was the second time he found himself within spaces but never had he felt this way, at the moment his what was echoing heavily within his chest as he stared straight hard at the woman before him..

Joanne was much aware of the tension in the room and made way toward where he was with two glasses in her hands.

She hands one to him and remains within her space locking gaze with him as he took the glass from her hands —

"Thank you." He muttered as he took the glass from her hands…

She stared at him for what seemed like a while. "You never really told me what happened that night." She muttered.

An unforbidden haze hovered around the room and all of a sudden he could feel it getting heated up, he stopped right there in his tracks while making his way to the window, his gaze resting against under the orchid tree.

She walked in till she was standing close to him, she had a robe over herself now making the room more suitable for them… For him to think.

"I don't want to talk about it, I just want to forget that night forever.".

" He was the First man I had ever trusted in the Mafia, ever since I became the leader of this serpent society and got my first ink. " She stopped and showed it to him, he had always got my back.

"We all loved him."

It was differently, it was obvious they bled differently, for him his was one that was deeper almost reaching down to his soul—

"You just have to forget." She muttered.

He knew deep in his soul that it was a very difficult thing for him to do, at the moment he let himself drift off the memory lane back to when Brock and told him to trust no one.

"Joan." He called her name and she looked up to his face.

"He took a bullet for me. " Logan muttered.

It was the first time he was letting anyone in on how he was the sole survival of that night, at the moment he looked invisible.

"Brock would never take a bullet for anyone.".

Logan nodded his head affirmatively, In what he thought she was right to express her shock in that way…

"Do know what I think you need , you need a break from all of this … Just take a trip or something, I can manage till you get back. "

" You have an assistant. Logan stated between gritted teeth.

" Wade—"

" You can't trust Wade. " He countered.

She stood there shocked, weighing the thought in her mind, why do you think I can't trust him. "

Logan weighed the thought in his mind, it was obvious that he couldn't just tell her his assumptions were based on what a dead man said.

"You can't just trust him."

"Well unless you have someone else to feel that spot, you can't just say you don't trust him.

"

He was about to speak but shut him up, he watched her face as the nerves relaxed.

"Brock told me to watch out for him, how else do you explain not being able to make it out of the house alive, I was shot as well remember… It was as if they knew everything. "He expressed worry.

" And you think that mole is Wade? " Her face contorted into one that sulked with disgust. "It can be anyone."

"You can't —"

"That is my decision, I am sticking to him and it is none of your business. "

" I think I overstepped my boundaries. "

" Do you know what I think? " She muttered..

" I think Brock would be alive if you didn't come to our lives, death seems to follow you everywhere. "

He wanted to speak but smiles again and slams the door walking out.

One hour later…

The hot water is heaven on her skin, beating downs in every bit of the nerves left in her as she stepped out. She could feel the nerves and wash away the painful memories of the day.

She let herself sink into the warm steam. Of water and by the time she emerges from the water, her soul is quieted in a bliss that seemed to envelope every bit of her at that moment.

In a way she didn't expect the guilt to possess her mind, she felt that she had been mean to him the way she spoke through a weight lifted off her shoulders.

Nothing will ever bring Brock back, but having to shout at him and blame him for his death though means brought a balance to the situation.

She steps out in just her towel, and smiles at her image in the mirror, she could feel her nipples harden just from the thought of him.

“Come off it , he is disgusted by you now.” she muttered to herself.

A week ago, his words would have scared her, she would have found herself feeling vulnerable to the fact that was acting all concerned but at this moment, she let herself feel nothing. A delicious shiver raced up her spine as she backed away from her mirror and pulled her drawer pulling out a gun.

Soon, as her fingers curled round the metal pistol she let her mind drift back to two years ago when Brock had gifted her a gun.

Flash back…

"You don't need to give me anything today, you know that right." She asked Brock who had just gifted her a gun. "

" Trust me, it would come in handy. "

She stared at the pistol for a while. "I have another, what do I need guns for."

"This is different, it was my father's. "

She pushed the gun back to his hands, you should keep this then. "

" No, I insist, you should have it. "

She stared at him for a while and hugged him. "You are not just the best assistant, you are the best friend one can ever have ."

Brock smiles sheepishly.

Flash back ends…

She spun the gun in her head dropping it back into the drawer, she walked to her wardrobe and got into a short shirt.

Tying her head into a bun, she walked out of the room.
