Chapter Three - A Woman From Decades Ago.
"What do we do, commander?" Marcus, standing beside Draven asked, his voice audible only to Marcus alone. "I'll take the woman out of this place." Draven took one step forward. Scarface stepped forward, looking at the men with cold and an unwelcoming expression. "Who the fuck are you Mongrels?" He barked, casting a disdainful look like they were pieces of trash in the wrong room. "Scram now or you die!" Draven didn't even speak. He didn't move. Marcus moved fast, impossible fast for a man of his bulky size. He was standing before Scarface in the next second with a deep frown seated on his face, staring him down like an insignificant speck of dust at the bottom of his boot. Scarface gasped slightly, surprised by his movement. "How.. how did you move.." Marcus's expression twisted slightly in disgust. "You low-life had the guts to open your gutter mouth to speak to my master." His palm shot like a cannon ball, smacking Scarface in the face. His head snapped to the side, saliva, blood and teeth flying from his mouth. Scarface collapsed against the wall. He stared at his own teeth on the floor, his eyes wide in horror. "Holy shit!! My teeth..my teeth..it hurts.. I'm fucking bleeding." He cried, his voice shaking as he flared into anger. His finger snapped at Marcus. "What are you all looking at! Kill them!!" He screamed. The four thugs got ready. They pulled out weapons. Knives, cutlass, and reinforced Baton One charged at Marcus with a knife. Marcus caught his hand mid-swing and twisted his wrist. Bone cracked. His wrist twisted at an unnatural angel. The blade clattered to the floor and his eyes widened in horror. Before he could scream in pain, Marcus followed with a devastating hook that snapped his head and threw him across the room like a rag doll. He walked over to the thug bleeding on the floor and finished him with a powerful pick, his boot connecting to his jaw and splaying blood into the air in wild Arc. He collapsed heavily and died. Another soldier caught the second thug, picked him up effortlessly as though he was weightless and threw to the wall, his body burst through the window, his scream echoed through the air and stopped. A jagged spike drove into his chest killing on the spot. Scarface started shaking seeing the fight. He backed towards the wall slowly, fear cracking through his earlier arrogance. "Who are you people? What are you people?" His voice was shaking with fear. The other two thugs, seeing what had just happened made a break for the exit. "None of you will leave this place alive." Marcus declared, his voice absolute and final. He dashed forward and caught one thug by the collar. He threw him backward. His body smashed against the wall, forming cracks on the concrete and his backbone might have as well shattered. He slipped to the floor without standing again. The last man paused seeing what happened to the other thug escaping with him. He was shaking and palpitating. He ran back into the hall as though he suddenly realized his escape was more dreadful than submission. He crumbled at Draven's knee, his palms pressed together in front, apology tumbling out from his mouth in rush and fear. "Please forgive me.. I was only told to follow them. I didn't touch her. Please.. please... spare me." Draven didn't even glance at him. He walked beside him to meet the woman unconscious on the floor. Marcus immediately understood the task. One clean powerful kick to his chin and his head snapped back. Blood and teeth forced out, flying back in arc and splattering across the floor as his skull exploded under his boot spreading out red and grey matter. He hit the floor like a sack and became motionless. Natasha's eyes widened in horror. Her knee buckled as she stumbled back, her expensive designer down rustling. Her eyes widened, darting on the men sprawled lifeless on the floor. Scarface was shaking, his entire bravado crumbled like fine dust in the air. His men were gone and he knew he was the next target. Draven walked over to Alessia's unconscious body and scooped her in his arm gently. Her face was inflicted with marks, dried blood clung to her face and her body was frail. Her appearance suggested she'd been through hell and had survived the torments unleashed on her. His blood boiled in anger. "I'm sorry for coming late." He whispered. His heart, forged from steel that had never melted under any pressure, ached at this woman's appearance. He turned his head back and his gaze landed on Scarface. His eyes were cold, his expression fierce and unforgiving. "None of you deserves to live for laying your filthy hands on her."Latest Chapter

Chapter 17: The Secret in the Monroe VaultThe tension outside the northern gates of Crestfall was thick enough to cut with a knife, but inside the city, the silence was heavy. In the war room, officers moved around quietly, monitoring the two-hour clock ticking down on the main wall display. Raymond Cross’s tanks remained idle on the plains, sixty dark shapes waiting patiently for war command.Marcus walked into the war room, straight past the tables and stopped beside Draven, who was reviewing the city's defense grids with Brutus."Commander," Marcus said in a low tone that did not carry across the room. "A specialized unit finished clearing out the Monroe estate thirty minutes ago. While searching the lower study behind the main library, they found a false wall.""What is that?" Draven asked his sharp eyes dropping to the burner steel box. "It belonged to Alessia's late mother, Evelyn Monroe," Marcus explained, keeping the box on a side table. "It was hidden inside a floor safe

Chapter 16: The Standoff at the City GatesThe double doors of the High Council Chamber burst open. Draven walked out with long, deliberate strides, his dark trench coat billowing behind him. His face was a mask of cold steel. Behind him, Marcus followed closely, holding his sidearm tightly.General Raymond Cross stood near the elevator, surrounded by twenty armed guards. A smirk was plastered across his aging face."You made the wrong choice, Mercer," Raymond sneered, stepping into Draven's path. "The moment you walked out on the Prime Minister, you signed your own warrant. You are a traitor now. Guards, arrest him!"Draven didn't even slow down. Before the guards could raise their rifles, Draven moved like a shadow. He grabbed the front of Raymond's uniform, lifted the older general off his feet, and slammed him hard against the marble wall. The guards instantly aimed their weapons at Draven, but Marcus pulled his gun with lightning speed, locking his target on Raymond’s head."Tell

Chapter 15: The Military Council TrapThe low hum of the military helicopter filled the dark cabin as it flew through the night sky toward the capital city. Inside, the red cabin lights cast long shadows across the metal walls.Draven sat near the front, his arms crossed over his chest. His face was cold and still. Beside him, Marcus was typing rapidly on a secure military laptop, reviewing files sent from the High Command.Alessia and Julie were not with them. Draven had left them at the Crestfall fortress under the heavy protection of Brutus and fifty elite soldiers. He had promised Alessia that he would return by morning. But as the towering skyline of the capital came into view, Draven knew this trip would not be simple. Two hours ago, the Prime Minister and the Senior Military Council had issued an emergency summons. Draven was accused of using the nation’s top military assets for personal matters. Specifically, using state troops to destroy the Monroe Group and dismantle the Cr

Chapter 14: Julie's First Day in the Command CenterThe massive silver doors slid open with a soft, mechanical hiss.Alessia stepped into the hall first, leaning lightly on a wooden cane. Her broken ribs were wrapped tightly under her simple sweater, and though every step still caused a dull ache, her face looked healthy and full of color for the first time in years.Holding her hand tightly was little Julie. They were inside the central command center of the Supreme Military Base. The room was vast, high-ceilinged, and filled with glowing blue screens that covered entire walls. Dozens of military officers in sharp dark uniforms sat at the desks, typing rapidly on keyboards and speaking quietly into their headsets. Satellite maps of the nation flashed in real time, tracking ships, aircraft, and other units across thousands of miles. It looked like something straight out of a science-fiction movie."Mama," Julie whispered, her voice filled with awe as she squeezed Alessia's hand. Chapter 13: Brutus Swears AllegianceBrutus stepped out of the ruined underground auction house into the cool night air. The heavy scent of iron and smoke still hung on his skin. He looked down at his huge, calloused hands, stained red with the blood of Viktor Cross's men. For years, those hands had done the dirty work of a spoiled syndicate heir. He had believed Viktor held real power in Crestfall. He had been wrong. Dead wrong.Seeing the gold eagle insignia on Draven Mercer's vest had shattered every lie Brutus lived by. He knew that crest. Every man who had ever served in the military knew it. It belonged to the Supreme War Commander, a living legend who had single-handedly broken entire foreign armies. To challenge a man like Draven was not just foolish—it was suicide.Brutus took a deep breath, filling his chest with air, and wiped his face with the back of his forearm. He had beaten Viktor within an inch of his life, breaking his ties to the Cross family forever. But Brutus k

Chapter 12: Dismantling the Monroe FamilyNatasha walked out of the hospital with a tight, vindictive smile playing on her lips. The cold night air hit her face, but she barely felt it. In her high-end leather purse, the signed document transferring Alessia’s final one percent share in the Monroe Group rested safely. Her father, Blac Monroe, rushed behind her, his forehead glistening with nervous sweat as they stepped into the back seat of their luxury sedan."Natasha, are you sure Lord Alaric won't blame us for Viktor's state?" Blac asked, his voice trembling as the driver pulled away from the hospital. "If the Cross family turns on us, our loans will be called in instantly. We will lose everything!""Relax, Father," Natasha said, pulling out the paper and admiring Alessia's signature in the dim streetlights. "Lord Alaric knows Alessia and her nameless soldier are the real targets. The Red Vipers will hunt them down like dogs before morning. Meanwhile, we have what we came for."She
