CHAPTER FORTY-SIX

Everyone looked at Sharon’s fingers, and even though they could see other expensive rings on some of them, they still believed what Jackson said.

“Yes, he is right.” Sharon nodded, turning to Hudderson with so much anger in her voice.

For some reason, she seemed to be more eager to see Hudderson disgraced out of the hall.

“He stole my ring! My expensive ring!” She cried, drawing the attention of the guests who instantly began to murmur, demanding justice for her.

The noise became louder, clamoring for Hudderson’s immediate arrest.

“Grab him! Lock him up!”

“Don’t let him escape! He is a criminal!”

The yells were beginning to get louder, mounting intense pressure on the Police Chief.

Even his wife seemed to be eager for him to have Hudderson arrested.

“What are you waiting for?! Lock him up!” She yelled, pointing at Hudderson with anger in her eyes.

Throughout his years of service, Finn had been an upright man, and he was not about to make a mistake by

CHAPTER SEVENTY-THREE Bruce was so alarmed by the words he heard from Hudderson that he pulled out two daggers from his side, pointing them at Hudderson while he held onto them tightly.“I suggest you surrender yourself, Hudderson. Among other crimes that you have committed, you are also accused of beating up soldiers who have been trained to protect the rights and lives of people by the government. You have defiled the government, and you must pay for it.”Hudderson scoffed, causing his expression to drop.“I cannot imagine that you are the one saying this, Commander.” He shook his head, harboring so many thoughts that lingered inside his head. “Such a shame. What women can do to strong men.” He looked at the blades Bruce was holding, and he nodded with a wry smile. “Those are very sharp and pretty daggers, Commander. Maybe you could tell me where you got them so that I could get one for myself.” “I am not playing games with you!” Bruce growled at him, ready to attack him with hi

CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO Bruce took a deep breath, feeling the tension hanging just above him, and spreading toward Tasha. He saw it, the fire burning in Hudderson’s eyes. “Who are you?” He was forced to ask, and that was not just because he was curious, but also because he was deeply worried about the threat he heard from the strange man standing before him. “My name is Hudderson.” Hudderson took a deep breath, looking him in the eyes. “I have been called so many things by many, but amongst them is the great vanquisher.”“The great vanquisher?” Bruce muttered, attempting to figure out where he had heard that name. Hudderson nodded. “That is correct.” He sniggered, looking directly into the Commander’s eyes. “I don’t know what it is that this lady standing right there told you.” He pointed to Theresa, and then he continued with a lower tone.“But I am not going to leave until I find my wife. She took my wife, her sister, and me. I am not leaving this place until I find her.” Bruce

CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE Hudderson scoured the entire place, and when he finally saw the trap that Tasha had set for him, he scoffed, turning to her with a wry smile.“Really? Is this the best you can do?” Tasha looked at him with a little confusion etched on her face. “What the hell are you talking about?” She asked, but Hudderson was still busy looking around. “Leave this place, Hudderson! Leave or I will be forced to call the cops!” She threatened, but that didn’t seem like what could threaten Hudderson. He looked at her for a while, and then his expression turned cold and unpredictable. “What are you going to tell them? That you kidnapped your sister?” “What?” Tasha gasped, pretending not to know what he was talking. “How can you accuse me of taking my sister?” She asked, and Hudderson scoffed. “You just proved to me that you know where she is.” Hudderson was gradually losing his patience, approaching her slowly.“Tell these men with you not to try to be smart. They are only goi

CHAPTER SEVENTY Dan tried to catch the baby, but he slipped from his hand, and just when he was about to fall to the ground, Hudderson caught him, and then he handed him over to his grandfather. Thomson swallowed hard while he held onto the baby, his eyes sparking with anxiety. “Please. Don’t kill him.” He begged, knowing that Dan was going to suffer greatly in the hands of Hudderson. "I can’t make that promise.” Hudderson growled, and then he walked into the building, grabbing Dan who had fallen to the ground, bleeding from his nostrils. “What you are doing is wrong! Totally wrong!” Dan tried to escape from Hudderson’s grip, but he wasn’t fast enough.Hudderson pinned him to the wall, and looking him in the eyes, he asked, “Where is Tasha?!” His voice triggered panic inside Dan’s system, freezing his breath. “I…” Dan swallowed hard, his heart beating so fast that he thought he was going to collapse. CHAPTER SIXTY-NINEDan said nothing.Even though he couldn’t deny the fact that he was wary of Hudderson, he tried not to react the way he felt in order to protect his territory.“Who is this man, Mr. Thomson? And why does he want to know where Tasha is?” Thomson took a deep breath, and lifting his head slowly, he cleared his throat.“I think you should listen to him, son.” He said to his son-in-law, but the young man seemed to be very stubborn at that moment. He turned to Hudderson and looked at him with a little disdain in his eyes. “Why should I listen to him? Is he the police?” Dan scoffed, holding onto his baby tightly.“Even if he is the police, he doesn’t have the right to come here and just ask questions without having a warrant. I know my rights, and the rights of my wife.”Hudderson scoffed, and then he turned to Thomson. “I didn’t come here to waste my time, Thomson. Ask him to kindly tell me where his wife is.” Thomson nodded, his breath was still shaky. “Just listen to

CHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHT “Good.” Hudderson nodded while Thomson was still catching his breath.“You will be taking me to her. Stand up at once.” He ordered, forcing Thomson off the bed with his eyes. Thomson was reluctant when it seemed like a thought had suddenly crawled into his mind.“I just remembered something, Sir.” He raised his right hand with signs that he was begging for permission to speak. Then he cleared his throat. “Tasha is not home, Sir. She told me that she was leaving for Darnia today. She has some work to do that requires her to travel early this morning. I am sure she must have left since morning.”His voice had already lost its grip, indicating that he was not being honest. Hudderson looked at him with a cold expression, and then he cleared his throat. “Move.” He pointed, and Thomson hurried out of the room.As he sauntered cautiously along the hallway, he turned as many times as he could to look at Hudderson, afraid that he could hit him from behind. “I don’t th
