Chapter 8

An interface flashed in Jayson's mind.

He got another reward. The system's reward was unexpected this time around, yet intriguing.

{Host has the ability to learn medicine. Host can use the portion that would be in his pocket to begin.}

Jayson immediately felt something in his pocket and he took it out, it was a small bottle that contained a potion.

He took it out and drank its contents. Immediately after drinking, he felt a sharp sensation run through his body within a split second.

Jayson's mind was buzzing with excitement as he headed home. He couldn't wait to start learning medicine and using his newfound skills to make a difference.

The next day, Jayson called his company, eager to share his new career aspirations with his manager. "I want to start acting," he informed, his voice filled with enthusiasm.

There was a pause on the other end of the line. "Acting?" his manager repeated, sounding shocked and overwhelmed. "Sir, you now own this large movie industry. What makes you want to give it all up for mere acting?"

Jayson took a deep breath, “Yes acting.”

His manager sighed, sounding skeptical. "I don't know, sir. This is a big change. Are you sure you're ready for it?"

"I'm positive," Jayson replied.

“Ok. I will discuss this with the company's team.”

"Remember, manager," Jayson said, his voice low and serious. "My new career as an actor is not just about fame and fortune. It's about using my platform to make a difference. But to do that, I need to protect my identity."

"What do you mean?" His manager asked.

"I mean that you shouldn't make my identity as the movie industry owner known to others. I want my position to be kept a secret for now."

“Ok sir, I'll do whatever you want.”

Jayson nodded. "Exactly. I need to be able to move freely, without anyone recognizing me or connecting me to my past. Can I trust you to help me with that?”

"Of course, sir. I'll do whatever it takes to help you protect your identity. But are you sure this is necessary? Are you in some kind of danger?"

Jayson hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "Let's just say that I have my reasons," he responded finally. "I need to be careful, and I need your help to do it because you are the only person that knows about my true identity."

Jayson continued. "Our next movie shooting is in two weeks' time," he informed, looking up at Jayson. "It's a big project, and I think you're going to love it."

Jayson's eyes lit up with excitement. "What's the movie about?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

"It's a romantic drama," his manager replied. "And I think you'd be perfect for the lead role."

Jayson's heart skipped a beat. He had always wanted to be a leading man, and now he had the chance. "I'll do it," he replied, his voice firm. "I'll be the Male Lead of the movie."

"I'll send you the script and necessary information through email, and you can start preparing for the role. This movie has the potential to be a bestselling hit."

Jayson's eyes widened, feeling a surge of excitement. He had always dreamed of being part of a successful movie, and now he had the chance to star in a movie his industry is making. He was determined to give it his all and make it a hit.

Two weeks later Jayson arrived on set, eager to start preparing for the shoot. He was greeted by the director, who was busy setting up the cameras and lighting.

"Hey, Jayson! You must be the ML right? Good morning," the director said, shaking his hand. "We're glad you're here. However, there's a slight delay. Our female lead hasn't arrived yet."

Jayson's eyes narrowed slightly, as the director looked at him from head to toe, with a calculating look.

"How long will she be?" Jayson asked.

The director shrugged. "We're not sure. She's running a bit behind schedule. But don't worry, we'll make the most of the time. Why don't you go through your script again and get familiar with the lines?"

Jayson nodded, taking a deep breath.

He sat down to go through his script, Jayson couldn't help but wonder about the Female Lead that he would be working with, he hoped she'd be nice.

He pushed the thoughts aside and focused on his lines, trying to memorize every word and gesture.

Just as Jayson was starting to get into the zone, his phone buzzed with an email from the director. "Female Lead ETA is 30 minutes. Let's get ready to rehearse as soon as she arrives."

As Jayson sat in his chair, he couldn't help but notice the snickers and whispers from the other actors. They seemed to be mocking him, and he knew exactly why.

"Look at him, thinking he's so special just because he's the lead," one actor sneered.

"Yeah, I mean, who does he think he is? He's just a newbie," another actor chimed in.

Jayson ignored them, focusing on his script. But the taunts continued.

"I heard he only got the role because of his looks," someone said.

"Please, he's got nothing on talent, I heard that this is his first time acting. Why will he get the lead role based on his good looks." another actor snorted.

Jayson's expression remained calm, but inside, he was amused. They had no idea who he really was.

Jayson just smiled to himself. He was the owner of the movie industry and he had deliberately kept his identity a secret, he'd expected something like this or even worse.

Jayson waited and after a while, his manager announced someone's arrival.

Jayson turned to see the same woman whom he saved rush in.

“Good day everyone, my name is Sophie.” She introduced.

Sophie turned around and saw Jayson, she immediately recognised him as the man that saved her and was shocked to see him there.
