Jake checked his watch. He looked visibly irritated.

"Every minute we waste here is money lost. Can you even afford to cover that?"

"Just do yourself a favor. Apologize to us and the viewers. Admit you’re a fraud. Save yourself the humiliation."

Liam ignored the jeers. He tilted his head slightly, as if listening for something.

Then he smiled.

"It’s here. Cash or card?"

Nina blinked. "What?"

Before she could process his words, the deep, throaty roar of an engine echoed from the entrance.

A sleek white supercar rolled into view.

Its polished exterior gleamed under the lights like a predatory beast fresh out of a showroom.

Liam took a slow lap around the car. He nodded in approval.

"Not bad, Jake. You’ve got decent taste."

The driver’s side door swung open.

A young, attractive salesgirl stepped out, clutching a purchase contract. Her face glowed with excitement.

"Who’s Liam? Mr. Liam?"

Liam raised a hand lazily.

"That’s me. Payment goes through?"

The salesgirl beamed. This sale alon

Nina’s breath caught as reality sank in. The car was real. If Liam wasn’t a loser… then what did she do? She walked away from a hidden billionaire?!Her stomach twisted. She thought she’d made the right choice. Now it felt like a cruel joke. Her voice came out strained, cracking at the edges."Liam… if you had this kind of money, why didn’t you tell me?""Why did I have to suffer for five years? If I had known…"Liam laughed, but there was no warmth in it. Just cold amusement."Listen to yourself, Nina.""Five years ago, you told me you wanted to marry someone on your level."His gaze flicked over her, unreadable. "That’s what I did. I hid my identity to support you from the shadows.""Do you really think you could’ve built Nova Group into what it is today without my help?"Nina flinched like he’d slapped her. Her phone slipped from her fingers and hit the pavement with a dull clatter. Jake sneered, clinging to any scrap of control he had left."Nina, don’t tell me you’re fall

He sank onto the plush bed and let sleep take him under. He woke up with the sharp vibration of his phone. It was Emily Carter."I heard Jake got arrested. What happened?"As soon as Liam picked up the phone, Emily asked immediately. Her tone was a mix of curiosity and concern.Liam smirked and sat up."How’s your stomach? Feeling better?""It’s fine now, no big deal." Emily replied quickly, then pressed on. "But seriously, what happened? Did it have something to do with you?"Liam shrugged over the phone."News travels fast. Let me guess, Nina called you?"Emily sighed. "She was begging me to help bail him out."Liam let out a short laugh, low and unimpressed."Ins

When he realized that Liam wasn’t angry about his oversight, Amnon let out a quiet breath of relief. He straightened up quickly."Young Master, are you heading to the Garden now?""I'll be near the Imperial Grand Garden. Liam barely registered Susan’s gloating words. He let out a subtle, almost imperceptible smirk, not even pausing his stride as he walked straight toward the hotel entrance. Whatever pathetic scheme they had cooked up—it was about to blow up in their faces. As Liam drew closer to the revolving doors, Susan and Kevin’s faces lit up with anticipation. Kevin even rose onto his toes, craning his neck, eager for the show. “Mom! Look!” Kevin suddenly grabbed Susan’s arm, practically squealing, “The security guys! They stopped him! Look at that loser now—this is gonna be good!” But the excitement didn’t last long. Kevin’s triumphant expression froze. His eyes bulged like a fish out of water. His mouth hung open. “No... no way,” he muttered. “That can’t be real...” What they’d expected didn’t happen. At all. Instead of turning Liam away, the two tall, broad-shouldered security guards stepped aside. One of them even made a respectful "after you" gesture. And just like tha

Nina’s gaze lingered on Jake’s stony expression. Her fingers twisted around the hem of her gown, the fine silk now wrinkled beneath her grip. Ever since that scandal she caused trying to save Jake—making headlines in the process—he’d been distant. Colder. Today had to change that. She needed this wedding to win him back completely. “Yeah, Liam,” Nina lifted her chin, her diamond earrings catching the chandelier light. “Out of respect for the time we were married, all you have to do is get on your knees and apologize. Then maybe—maybe—we can still be friends.” She thought she had him figured out. Liam used to worship the ground she walked on. Last year on her birthday, she’d casually mentioned a necklace she liked—the most expensive one in the entire city. He showed up soaked to the bone an hour later, holding the box like it was treasure. Back then, even the slightest frown from her would send him spiraling with worry. There wasn’t a thing she asked for that Liam

Emily looked at Liam, concern clear on her face. She opened her mouth to speak again—but Jake cut her off with a cold grin.“Emily, correct me if I’m wrong,” he said smoothly, “but isn’t the Carter family struggling right now? Rumor has it your funding dried up. Not exactly a great time to make enemies… wouldn’t you say?”It was a blatant threat. And he wasn’t wrong—Emily’s family had recently signed a private partnership with TitanCorp, but it hadn’t been announced yet. No one in the room knew.Emily’s eyes narrowed. She was just about to speak up and reveal the truth—when Liam raised a hand.“That’s enough.”He turned to Emily, voice calm.“Thank you for standing up for me. But this isn’t your fight.”“I’ll handle it myself. You don’t need to put the Carter family at risk because of me.”Nina’s eyes darted back and forth between Liam and Emily, a sour look flickering in her gaze. When she finally spoke, her voice was sharp enough to cut glass.“Well, well, look at that—our little kni

Nina stood there, frozen, her mouth hanging open in disbelief. She pointed a trembling finger at Liam and practically shrieked.“What did you just call him?! You said ‘Young Master’? Are you serious? He’s a loser!”“There's no fucking way!”“He was married to me for five years—five years! All he ever did was deliver food! There’s no way he could be your Young Master!”Her voice cracked. “You’re Mr. Amnon! You're the one they say stands on top of the damn world! Why the hell would you—you—bow to him?!”Amnon’s eyes darkened. He’d seen what Liam had endured over the past five years. He hadn’t just read reports—he felt it. If it hadn’t been for Liam’s repeated orders to stand down, Nina wouldn’t have survived long enough to ask such a stupid question. Now, hearing her shamelessly slander the very man who could have had her erased with a snap? That was a line she should’ve never crossed.“You dare speak like that?” Amnon’s voice dropped to a dangerous low. “For what you just said… I

"Chloe, were the Litsgon ancestors royal guards or something?""You figured it out?" Chloe asked, surprised."I’m no fool," Liam grinned. Liam nodded knowingly. "International-level mercenaries aren't always foreign. Mercenaries with our nationality aren't monitored as strictly, as long as they're not doing anything illegal. They can run businesses just like anyone else, as long as they stay within the law." He patted Chloe’s shoulder. "Chloe, don’t worry. Even if things go sideways during the handoff, I’ll make sure you’re safe." "But the token is more important than me, I..." Chloe trailed off. Liam cut her off. "Chloe, if the worst happens, I’ll make sure you're safe and destroy the token in the shortest time possible." Chloe’s eyes widened. "Liam, you mean burn it all down?" "It won’t be that dramatic," Liam waved off the idea. "But you have to promise me you won’t hold it against me, or I won’t do it." "Let... let’s see what happens," Chloe said, her voice wavering slightly. They sat in the corner of the dock, speaking softly for a while. Liam nodded and addressed the rest of the group. "You stay as you are, adapt as needed. Ensure the enemy can’t get close to the target!" "Yes, sir!" The mercenaries shouted together. Nicolas looked concerned. With three snipers now on the team, including Liam, the balance and coordination of their team could be disrupted. Chloe and Jack stood nearby, listening to Liam's commands. Their respect for him had skyrocketed. This guy knew military operations like the back of his hand. He was definitely no ordinary person! There had to be a legendary story behind him. "Alright, Mr. Lee, we're ready to go," Chloe checked her watch. "By 8 PM, my family's token will be arriving at the International Airport." "We’re changing routes?" Liam frowned. "Yeah, we have no choice," Chloe nodded. "Other members of my family are onto me now. I’m not sure who I can trust, so I need to prepare early." "Alright," Liam agreed. He’d done thorough research on the Nightton area, and several covert route

Looks like Liam is the key factor for tonight's operation!"As the saying goes, amateurs watch for the spectacle, but experts look for the subtleties. The other seven mercenaries stood stunned, speechless with shock. They all knew Captain Nicolas’ skills.Sure, he was bulky, but his reaction time and handling ability were top-notch, otherwise, he wouldn’t have earned the respect of the team. But that scrawny young man had just outperformed Captain Nicolas in both reaction time and skill by a full second—maybe two!In the mercenary world, if you’re even a fraction of a second faster than your opponent, it could decide life or death.Yet here, Captain Nicolas,

To ensure your safety, I've hired an additional team. I’m asking you one last time—are you sure you want to proceed with this operation?" Chloe’s voice dropped a notch, the tension clear. "If the mission fails, the consequences will be severe."From the way Chloe spoke, it was clear she was nervous, showing just how important this operation was."I already told you, there’s no problem," Liam said with a faint smile.
