“What President?” He asked calmly, looking the old man in the eyes.

“The President of this country, Young Master.” Diego retorted, his voice barely above a whisper.

“Hmm…” Brian grunted, then he exhaled sharply.

“What does he want?” He asked without any hint of interest in his tone, his expression lacking any form of curiosity.

“I am not sure, Master Brian…” Diego replied calmly, withdrawing his gaze

“What did you just say?” Laura gasped, disbelief scattered all over her face. Then she turned to Brian, almost begging him for intervention.“Twenty years, Mum…” She groaned, glaring at her mother.“That’s how long you have been lying to me…” She sniffled to hold back the tears, but they had a will of their own. They flowed down like streams of a river, wetting her shirt.“Each time I asked after my father, you told me that he never wanted anything to do with me. Then a few years later, you told me that he had died. You even said he still insisted that I didn’t belong to him before he died…”“That’s because I didn’t want you to get hurt…” Valerie said, but even her voice failed her.“I knew that your father was happily married and had a son, and that he was from a wealthy and powerful family. The odds were against us, Laura. There was no way you were going to be accepted, just like that…”“But you owed me the truth, Mum…” Laura snorted, the anger causing her to vibrate. She sniffled a

Brian slowly lowered the phone he had placed against his ear, glaring at Gabriel.“I beg you…” Valerie pleaded, her voice slippery from the start. She sniffled, then she turned to Laura.Their eyes met, and while she had guilt glittering in her eyes, Laura had sparkles of betrayal and pain beaming in hers.“Why didn’t you tell me?” Laura needed answers, her voice low and unsteady.“I couldn’t…” Valerie’s voice was barely above a whisper, the tears still flowing.Meanwhile, Gabriel watched Brian step up to him, his entire body feeling the presence of his aura.“I want you to leave them alone…”Gabriel nodded, and for the first time it didn’t seem like he was about to argue, or even be headstrong.“You are going to disappear from their lives. If I see you even a short distance close to them, you will be spending the rest of your life in jail. Understood?”“Yes!” Gabriel nodded, his voice filled with panic.“I will never come anywhere close to them. I promise…”“Good…” Brian nodded, the

“What did you just say?” Gabriel gasped, the disbelief creeping underneath his skin.He suddenly couldn’t feel the moisture down his throat, forced to take a deep breath.“You heard me…” Brian was in no mood to repeat himself, sliding the pen back into his pocket.“Look here, Mister…” He pointed at Gabriel in the face, causing him to take a step back, eyes wide with concern.“I don’t care what you think you may have done for Laura and her mother. But you are not getting anything from me. I suggest you walk away and no longer bother them. That was a serious warning, but Gabriel took it for granted.“That’s never going to happen…” He said, refusing to budge.“I am not leaving here until you pay me back for everything I have done for your sister, including all the times she was sick. Didn’t she tell you that I cleared her medical bills? She used to be very sick when she was a baby.”“But I have been paying you, Gabriel...” Laura spoke out, drawing attention to herself.“No, Mum…” She sho

“Yes, Gabriel…” Laura nodded, returning her gaze to Gabriel. This time, there was a clear disdain burning in her eyes, strong enough to consume him.“Mr. Regal is my half-brother. He is not my lover, as you accused him of…”Gabriel blinked again, this time until his eyes could no longer bear the sensation. He moved his eyes from Brian to Laura, and then back to Laura. At that moment, the striking resemblance became visible, as though it had been missing from the onset.“Why didn’t you tell me?” He grunted, turning to Valerie.“Why didn’t you tell me that the man you had fucked was one of the richest men in this country?” He was ready to lunge at her, but Laura shielded her at once.“Don’t come close to my mother!” He warned, rolling her eyes at Gabriel. The tension inside her made her nervous, causing her to turn to Brian, silently calling out for help.Gabriel was dumbfounded, yet there was a thrill quietly going on inside him.“What’s this?” He asked the rhetorical question, glaring

There is no harm in doing that…”Gabriel hesitated, then he turned to Laura slowly.“Is he telling the truth? Does that thing really do everything he just said?”There was no response, even when Laura opened her mouth to speak. Her eyes moved from one man to the other, a silent wind blowing inside her.“Answer me, Laura…” Gabriel groaned, showing her the pen.“Does this truly do what he just said it does? Have you seen him make use of it before?” He was desperate for an answer, and the lady’s silence was not helping the feeling brewing inside him.“Why are you not saying anything?” He snorted, his eyes scowling at her.“You must have seen him making use of it once or twice to make payments.
