A couple of minutes later, everyone had left Jeremiah’s room to go about their various businesses. Reginald resumed his kingly duties, with Kingston following him, while Lynette went on her stroll as she had said she would, and Elizabeth accompanied her.

Jeremiah was the only one left in his new, amazing bedroom, which he couldn’t get enough of, as being able to manipulate it however he wanted was incredibly fun.

He was on his massive bed when all of a sudden, his phone beside him began to ring.

“Hmm,” Jeremiah groaned and looked at the phone, wondering who could be calling him.

He reached for the phone, brought it to his face, and checked who the caller was.

It was an unknown number.

Jeremiah grimaced but then his face relaxed.

“It must be her” he took a deep breath and sighed.

He sat up, answered the call, and put it to his ear.

“Hello,” Jeremiah answered.

[“Good afternoon, your— I mean, Jeremiah. It’s me, Britney. You know, the girl from last night. The one who you—”]

Jeremiah dropped his hand and phone on the bed and made a heavy sigh.“Three hours, huh?” Jeremiah said, realizing that it was a very long time to wait before the date but what’s done is done.He wondered what he should do within that time and an idea came to mind— to use that time to try and regain memories from his past self.Jeremiah closed his eyes, took a deep breath, calmed his nerves, and then sighed. Thanks to what Obadiah did in the greenhouse while testing his magic, his once-locked connection to his past had now been partially opened. So, if he focused hard enough, he could possibly recover some of his past memories like back then. All Jeremiah had to do was remember the feeling he had in the greenhouse when his memories were revealed to him and maybe something would come up. He didn’t know if it would work or not— mostly leaning on not— but he also had nothing else to do so why not give it a shot?“Alright, here we go,” Jeremiah said, concentrating as he tried to recall

A second passed, then another and another and very soon Jeremiah grimaced.“Nothing’s happening,” he said, a slight frown on his face as the tray of delicious food he had been imagining for close to a minute never came to be.“Did I not do it right?” He asked himself and after a few seconds of contemplating, he groaned. “Let me give it one more try but this time give all my focus and effort,” he told himself then closed his eyes and tried to concentrate. The last time he had done it, his eyes were fully opened so maybe that was why it didn’t work— he wasn’t focused enough. That’s what he thought anyway. Jeremiah put his complete focus and effort into trying to conjure up a tray of food like he had tried to remember his past memories a couple of minutes ago. Unlike last time when he tried to magically create a delicious-looking and tasting dish, this time he went for something simple— a plate of plain white rice.He theorized that the reason it hadn’t worked the last time he tried w

Mind telling what that is” Christabel chuckled awkwardly. “There’s nothing bothering me my—“ she said but Jeremiah cut her off. “Yes there is,” he said, causing her to eat her words and freeze momentarily.Jeremiah picked up the spoon, focused on his food, and said “Just like everyone on this estate, you were told who or more accurately what I am, and as what I am I have a few abilities that others like yourself don’t have. One of said abilities is my heightened senses which allows me to be extremely observant. Thanks to that, I’m able to catch the slightest change in things and people and I noticed it with you so are you going to lie to my face or are you going to be truthful?”Jeremiah looked at Lynette from head to toe and noted how nervous she was.“As you know, I won’t force you to do what you d

He used his hand to call the guard over and the guard rushed to him. “Yes, My Lord?” The guard asked. “I remember you,” he said and the guard nodded. “Yes, My Lord. I was among the guards who followed his majesty to the gas plant last night. To be exact, I was the guard who opened the backseat door for you to put the corpse inside the car” “Yes, that’s right” Jeremiah replied after remembering the guard’s face properly. “Anyway, I sent a guard to fetch my motorcycle from outside the fence of the gas plant where I had left it last night, so I was wondering if he had returned and if so, where did he parked the motorcycle?” Jeremiah said. “Yes, My Lord, your motorcycle has been returned. It’s this way so please follow me” the guard said. “Alright,” Jeremiah nodded. The guard guided Jeremiah to the parking lot where his motorcycle was parked in front of the other beautiful and expensive vehicles ther

Jeremiah finally made it to the Crimson Fall’s Royal Mall and from the first impressions alone he saw why Christabel suggested it over all the other places she could have. It looked amazing. From how massive it was to the number of people going in and out of it. Everything about the mall was very inviting.Jeremiah removed his helmet and kept it on the motorcycle then he reached for his AirPod, which was repeating the phrase; “You have arrived at your destination” and he took it off his ear.He took out the AirPod case from his pocket and returned the AirPod to its place then he took out his phone from his other pocket and closed the Map app as he returned the AirPod case to his pocket. Jeremiah looked around and grimaced.“She’s not here yet?” he said. From how eager Britney sounded over the phone it seemed like she would be there waiting for him but she wasn’t. He wondered what could have happened but then it hit him like a rock to the head and he palmed his face in embarrassmen

A few minutes later, Jeremiah had gotten to the bank’s street sign, positioned in front of a junction at the top of a downward-sloping road that curved to the left.Just as he was about to get to the junction, slowing down his speed because he was about to go down a slope, he passed an old-looking truck with the front window rolled down and the driver making a phone call while staring at the bank in the opposite direction. What really caught Jeremiah’s very observant eyes were the tattoos on the driver’s neck and jaw that anyone else would have missed but not him.Without meaning to, he read the driver’s lips and it said “He’s inside and should be withdrawing right about…”Jeremiah groaned and then stopped focusing on the driver because he was at the junction and needed to look where he was going. Also, it wasn’t any of his business. He drove down the slopped road and went through the bank’s gate which was at the bottom where the road became plain again.Jeremiah parked in the parkin

Jeremiah observed the elderly man for a few more seconds, seeing him struggle with the ATM like he was before he tried to help him and Jeremiah couldn’t in good conscience continue watching.“I know you said you’re fine but it would be terrible of me to just walk away and leave you like this,” Jeremiah said. The elderly man turned to him, smiled, and said “As I said, my young friend, I’m alright. I’m sure you have more important things to do with your time than worry about an old man like me. As for the machine, I’ve gotten a hang of it so I’ll be done very soon”Jeremiah wasn’t having it.“If that was the case then you wouldn’t still be in the first stage of trying to work the ATM for the past couple of minutes,” Jeremiah said, prompting the elderly man to look at the display of the ATM and he indeed was at the beginning stage of using the machine with not a single progress made. The elderly man smiled nervously as sweat fell down the side of his forehead and he used his handkerchi

“What is that matter, my friend? What balance does it say?” The elderly man asked. Jeremiah groaned and looked at the man.“It says that your account balance is forty-two thousand dollars…” he said, paused to observe the man’s reaction, then continued “…and that’s strange.” The man gulped. “Strange? How so?” The man chuckled nervously.“First of all, you said you wanted to withdraw fifty thousand dollars for your grandson and here it says you are eight thousand dollars short, but considering that it’s your account, you should have known that if you took the time to think about it”“What are you trying to say?”Jeremiah was very smart, so he was coming to a conclusion using all the information he had gotten so far and was also taking account of human psychology.“It means that when your grandson made the request you didn’t have time to think and just came to the bank to get it, which means the request was an urgent one and then there was your behavior when I told you what the balanc

One week later, Jeremiah leaned back against a cherry-red and gold Bugatti Veyron, the glint of the city lights dancing along its sleek curves. His tailored obsidian suit clung perfectly to his frame, his silver tie fluttering slightly in the evening breeze. The engine purred beneath the hood like a beast waiting to be unleashed. He glanced at the time on his wristwatch, a sly smile creeping across his face as the apartment door opened. He looked up.And there she was.Victoria emerged in a stunning midnight-blue dress that shimmered with every step. Her curls bounced as she descended the stairs, and Jeremiah couldn’t help but admire the moment like it was a scene from a movie.“Hurry up, we’re going to be late,” he said, a playful edge in his voice.“I’m coming!” she replied, hurrying her pace before she reached him—and planted a kiss on his lips that made the world pause for a second.“When’s he popping the question again?” she asked, at the same time telling him that maybe he was r

“The Leader?” Jeremiah asked with a grimace, the name tasting like ash on his tongue.“That’s right,” the being declared, his voice echoing like a god’s judgment through the twisted air. “I *am* the Leader—and this is my dimension. Here, I rule as supreme.”Jeremiah’s eyes narrowed. “And that name you called me—Bazar’q Omàrin? Why?”The Leader tilted his head slightly, a cruel smirk tugging at his lips. “Because that is your name. Not this watered-down nonsense—Crimson, Jeremiah—names handed to you by humans who never knew your truth. You were Bazar’q Omàrin, once the high sovereign of the mighty Oxyl Dimension... until it all turned to ash.”Jeremiah’s fists clenched as a dull pain throbbed in his temples. “And how do you know that? How do you know *me*?”The Leader's grin stretched, eyes flickering with malevolence. “Because, you banished me to hell!”With that roar of hatred, he surged forward in a blur, his fist crashing into Jeremiah’s ribs with the force of a meteor. ‘Where is he? The one who started all of this?’ Jeremiah’s thoughts were a storm as he tore through the sky in a vicious, high-speed duel against the nine-winged skeletal wyvern. His golden eyes flicked through the blood-red horizon, desperate to catch even a glimpse of Grey Lucian. Since the chaos began, Grey had vanished—eerily absent. The longer Jeremiah failed to find him, the more unease spread like rot in his gut.But the demonic wyvern wasn’t giving him the luxury of distraction.Every flap of the beast’s bony, mana-wrought wings whipped up cyclones of cursed wind. Each strike came fast, lethal, and relentless. Dodging them required all of Jeremiah’s focus—there was no room for error, no space to think about Grey, or even the cultists scattered across the battlefield, who were clearly summoning something catastrophic. The thick, malevolent mana surging from their positions felt like an omen of ruin. For just one heartbeat, Jeremiah’s mind slipped—and it was one too many. The w

The battlefield plunged into eerie silence. Even the screaming winds beneath the dome seemed to hold their breath.Jeremiah stood at the center of it all, his dragonoid form casting a monumental silhouette against the warped sky. His scales shimmered with hues of black, red, and gold, glowing like molten metal in the dome’s unnatural twilight. Wings unfurled behind him like the banners of a god of war, stretching high and wide, stirring the air with every twitch.Mages, scattered across the estate in strategic lines, froze. The resurrection magic that had reanimated their fallen held no expression, no breath—just cold bodies awaiting orders. All of them stared at him, at the beast who had tanked a god-killing spell and still stood.Jeremiah’s molten eyes locked onto the mages who had conjured the lightning-fire hybrid spell. There was no mercy in his gaze. Only retribution. He leapt forward. The impact of his takeoff split the ground behind him, sending fragments of earth skyward and

The sky darkened unnaturally, casting an eerie twilight over the estate. Jeremiah looked up as the last arc of shadow joined with the rest, sealing them inside a massive black dome. It shimmered with power, humming low like a monstrous heartbeat. The siege had begun. He turned to Lynette. “It’s begun.”“Yes,” she said quietly, eyes locked on the sky. “It has.”Jeremiah glanced down at the box in his hand. Obadiah’s head, expression frozen in death, stared back at him. The man had been a teacher, a guide, a rock of wisdom. And now he was gone. Murdered.“I’m sorry this happened to you, teacher,” Jeremiah murmured, his voice a low promise. “But on your behalf, I’ll make those fuckers pay.”With grim reverence, he set the box down. Then he and Lynette walked toward the convoy, where confusion had begun to blossom into panic.A chorus of murmurs rose as everyone saw the sky had changed. The dome wasn’t just a covering — it was alive. Pulsing. Feeding something.“What the hell is this?” th

[“How? The gate is—“] the driver of the first car asked but went silent to his surprise the gate suddenly opened. [“But how?!”] the driver asked in a panic.Jeremiah had used wordless magic to unlock and open the gate.[“Don’t worry about it and just keep driving”] Steven interjected, stopping the driver beside him from thinking too much into what happened.Because this security detail was provided by the city of Bakers View and not of the Garrick Royal estate, they didn’t know about Jeremiah’s real identity as Lord Crimson or that magic existed. That was why Steven stopped the driver beside him from asking questions and just moved things along. [“Okay, Captain”] the driver reluctantly said and then hit the gas, leading the cars into the estate. All the while, the third car which hadn’t been connected through the channel didn’t know what was really going on. Second after second, the cars got closer to Jeremiah’s house and when they got there everything looked perfectly fine, surpr

Jeremiah weighed his options and came to a final decision on which path to take. “We should go back” he declared. “Go back? As in back to the house?” Reginald asked, an intrigued look on his face.“Yes, back to the house” Jeremiah replied matter-of-factly.“Why?” Reginald inquired.“Though I wish you weren’t here, I honestly feel better with you or should I say Lynette by my side rather than elsewhere where y’all can be attacked by who knows how many enemies, and she, for whatever reason, dies because remember, a single temporary death from hers means you’re gone, forever,” Jeremiah said and Reginald groaned as he reflected on every word.“Alright then. I guess we’re going back” Reginald replied. He then looked at the driver and said “Tell the front car that we’re going back to the apartment”“As you wish, Your Majesty” the driver replied, clearly not on board with the decision because he had picked up on signs of there being a problem and would prefer if they left the city— meanin

I’ll be waiting for all four of you”] Jeremiah groaned. “Alright then. Bye,” he said and then ended the call. Looking at him, Reginald asked “So we’re going back to your house to speak with the shaman? I wonder what he wants to talk to us about”“Nothing. He doesn’t want to speak to us about anything” Jeremiah said as he stuffed his phone into his pocket while Reginald grimaced.“He doesn’t? How do you know that?” Reginald asked. I came to this city to spend time with Jeremiah and I haven’t even done that. If we travel back so quickly it would mean that this trip was a complete letdown.” She said. Kingston groaned.“So what do you want to do, Lady Lynette?” Kingston asked “Being the young master’s fiancé, you’re just as influential as he is to those who know the truth. So much so that the artificial intelligence back at the house obeyed your instruction when it wouldn’t have for anyone else besides the young master” Lynette groaned, reflecting on Kingston’s question that asked her what she wanted to do.“Since you’ve already linked yourself and Master Reginald together, you’ve basically protected him from all forms of harm for the next thirty-nine years, so you don’t have to follow us back home if you don’t want to.
