Who the hell was David?

You know what? Jeremiah couldn't care less.

“You’re free to do whatever you want,” Jeremiah said, then looked at Lynette, pushed Benson’s hand away again, and grabbed Lynette’s hand.

“Let’s get out of here,” Jeremiah said, and Lynette nodded.

Jeremiah started pulling the maid away, both of them going around Benson and heading for the door.

“Excuse us,” Jeremiah said once he and Lynette got to Kristin, Brenda, and Desmond, who blocked their path and the two girls happily stepped to the side for them to go through, while Desmond, who wanted to impress Kristin, refused.

“What does a servant like you think he’s doing acting all tough?! Benson wasn’t done talking and you just disrespected him like that. Do you think that the four of us are on the same level as a lowlife servant like you? Are you crazy?!” Desmond threatened.

“Sure. Whatever.” Jeremiah rolled his eyes and then placed his hand on Desmond’s shoulder.

“You can say whatever you like and call me whatever

“Jeremiah Garrick? Wait… Garrick? Isn’t that David’s and the king’s last name?” One of the guests behind David said, looking shocked.Everyone else thought about Jeremiah’s last name and had the same question in mind.“What’s going on here, David? Why does he bear the same name as you and the king? Are the two of you related or something?” Brenda asked.“Speaking of being related, I noticed that the two of them share some resemblance with one another, but is there more to it than both being good-looking? Are they actually related?” Kristin said. The others started murmuring, filling the corridor with confusion and questions. David frowned.“What nonsense are you lot talking about and why the hell are you all acting surprised and confused?! Do you think I would have talked the way I just did if this liar and I were actually related?! Are you guys daft or something?!” David asked, and his friends looked at each other guiltily.“David is right. We’ve been best friends for a long time no

I’m going to feed you to the dogs!” David said.He reached forward, grabbed Lynette’s hand, and was about to forcefully pull her away from Jeremiah when, to his surprise, Jeremiah grabbed his wrist and stopped him.Everyone who saw what Jeremiah did was left dumbfounded.Did he just lay his hand on David?Did he want to die?“What do you think you’re doing?!” David asked as he glared at Jeremiah through the corner of his eyes.To his surprise, Jeremiah too had an angry look aimed at him.“That’s what I should be asking you? Who gave you the audacity to think that you could put your hand on the person assigned to assist me during my stay while I’m standing right here?” Jeremiah asked, his voice so powerful that it sent chills down the spines of everyone there. They quickly got over it because they thought that he was a nob

“So, what were you saying about being the son of our king?” David taunted, making all his friends laugh at and make fun of Jeremiah. The only ones who refused to do that were Kristin and Brenda, who had both taken a liking to Jeremiah, and that infuriated Desmond, because how dare Kristin have eyes for another guy when he was right there? The reason the two girls acted differently from everyone else was because they weren’t friends with anyone in the group, so they didn’t feel obligated to join them in what they were doing to Jeremiah. The group of visitors consisted of David, his four friends from college, Benson, who was his best friend and roommate in college, Desmond, who was Benson’s cousin, and then Kristin and Brenda. David had wanted to visit the estate, so he invited his friends from his department in college, who had told him about wanting to see what the castle looked like in person, and Benson, who had already visited the place before.Hearing about the visit, Desmond, wh

At their university, though David was a sophomore, he was the most eligible bachelor to every female who knew him, and that even included the teachers. Everyone knew that he was royalty and incredibly rich, so they wanted to do what they could to either be his friend or date him if they were girls and Kristin was no different.Knowing that Kristin, his crush, had a crush on David who was someone he could never compete with, once they arrived at the estate, Desmond pulled Benson to the side and asked him for a favor. The favor was to separate Kristin from David, so he could get the opportunity to woo her and give her reasons to like him, as she had been all over David since they arrived and started their tour of the estate.Agreeing to help out his cousin, Benson separated everyone into two groups. David took his friends and continued the tour of the estate, while Benson took Desmond, Kristin, and Brenda on a separate tour of the inside of the castle. They had just started their cas

All the guards who responded to the emergency call sent out by David when he pressed the bottom on his phone, had been in the throne room when Jeremiah had his meeting with Reginald. After the meeting was over and Jeremiah left with Kingston, they all were made to swear to keep everything they had heard and witnessed in the throne room a secret just like Reginald told Jeremiah they would.Reginald also told them to refer to Jeremiah as “Young Master” when other people were around as his identity as Lord Crimson was a serious and sensitive information that should be kept secret at all cost. It became extremely ironic the moment they all walked through the door and appeared in the corridor, hoping to take care of the nuisance bothering David, only to see Jeremiah and recognize him as their Lord Crimson and young master. It was like a funny joke and the only person being made fun of was David. On the flip side, Jeremiah who recognized all the guards and knew that they weren’t going to

Lynette’s eyes blinked rapidly. What kind of question did Jeremiah just ask her?Did he even know the weight of it?Did he mean to tell her that even after Benson had groveled and apologized like a sniveling dog, he was still going to be punished if she didn’t like the apology and chose not to accept it?That was just crazy. Also, what a massive burden to put on her, who was just a simple maid. And what about David? This was his best friend being punished after all.Would he just stand there and watch that happen in front of him, or would he, afterward, want to do something to her for allowing his best friend to receive another round of the punishment? It was something to think about because, at the end of the day, Jeremiah wouldn’t be around forever, so could he even stop David from getting retribution afterward if that’s what he wanted?During their conversation, after leaving the dining room, Jeremiah told Lynette that he was going to return home and wouldn’t be in Crimson Fall fo

Girls their ages were usually able to act wickedly and vindictively if they wanted, so shouldn’t coming up with suitable punishments for the five on their knees be easy for them? He thought.“You two!” Jeremiah said, and the two girls jolted.“Yes, young master?” Kristin said.“Your names are Kristin and…?” Jeremiah asked, ignorant of Brenda’s name ‘cause nobody had mentioned it yet. “Brenda, young master. My name is Brenda,” Brenda replied, while Kristin looked happy that Jeremiah remembered her name after just hearing it once.He really was paying attention to her, she thought.“Alright, Kristin and Brenda. Do you mind helping me out here?” Jeremiah asked, and the two girls looked at each other with confusion before staring at him with questioning expressions.“Help you with what exactly?” Kristin asked.“I need to teach these five a lesson for what they did but nothing comes to mind. Do you two have any ideas?” Jeremiah asked, and the two girls’ eyes widened.Did Jeremiah, the kin

One week later, Jeremiah leaned back against a cherry-red and gold Bugatti Veyron, the glint of the city lights dancing along its sleek curves. His tailored obsidian suit clung perfectly to his frame, his silver tie fluttering slightly in the evening breeze. The engine purred beneath the hood like a beast waiting to be unleashed. He glanced at the time on his wristwatch, a sly smile creeping across his face as the apartment door opened. He looked up.And there she was.Victoria emerged in a stunning midnight-blue dress that shimmered with every step. Her curls bounced as she descended the stairs, and Jeremiah couldn’t help but admire the moment like it was a scene from a movie.“Hurry up, we’re going to be late,” he said, a playful edge in his voice.“I’m coming!” she replied, hurrying her pace before she reached him—and planted a kiss on his lips that made the world pause for a second.“When’s he popping the question again?” she asked, at the same time telling him that maybe he was r

“The Leader?” Jeremiah asked with a grimace, the name tasting like ash on his tongue.“That’s right,” the being declared, his voice echoing like a god’s judgment through the twisted air. “I *am* the Leader—and this is my dimension. Here, I rule as supreme.”Jeremiah’s eyes narrowed. “And that name you called me—Bazar’q Omàrin? Why?”The Leader tilted his head slightly, a cruel smirk tugging at his lips. “Because that is your name. Not this watered-down nonsense—Crimson, Jeremiah—names handed to you by humans who never knew your truth. You were Bazar’q Omàrin, once the high sovereign of the mighty Oxyl Dimension... until it all turned to ash.”Jeremiah’s fists clenched as a dull pain throbbed in his temples. “And how do you know that? How do you know *me*?”The Leader's grin stretched, eyes flickering with malevolence. “Because, you banished me to hell!”With that roar of hatred, he surged forward in a blur, his fist crashing into Jeremiah’s ribs with the force of a meteor. • CHAPTER 333

‘Where is he? The one who started all of this?’ Jeremiah’s thoughts were a storm as he tore through the sky in a vicious, high-speed duel against the nine-winged skeletal wyvern. His golden eyes flicked through the blood-red horizon, desperate to catch even a glimpse of Grey Lucian. Since the chaos began, Grey had vanished—eerily absent. The longer Jeremiah failed to find him, the more unease spread like rot in his gut.But the demonic wyvern wasn’t giving him the luxury of distraction.Every flap of the beast’s bony, mana-wrought wings whipped up cyclones of cursed wind. Each strike came fast, lethal, and relentless. Dodging them required all of Jeremiah’s focus—there was no room for error, no space to think about Grey, or even the cultists scattered across the battlefield, who were clearly summoning something catastrophic. The thick, malevolent mana surging from their positions felt like an omen of ruin. For just one heartbeat, Jeremiah’s mind slipped—and it was one too many. The w

The battlefield plunged into eerie silence. Even the screaming winds beneath the dome seemed to hold their breath.Jeremiah stood at the center of it all, his dragonoid form casting a monumental silhouette against the warped sky. His scales shimmered with hues of black, red, and gold, glowing like molten metal in the dome’s unnatural twilight. Wings unfurled behind him like the banners of a god of war, stretching high and wide, stirring the air with every twitch.Mages, scattered across the estate in strategic lines, froze. The resurrection magic that had reanimated their fallen held no expression, no breath—just cold bodies awaiting orders. All of them stared at him, at the beast who had tanked a god-killing spell and still stood.Jeremiah’s molten eyes locked onto the mages who had conjured the lightning-fire hybrid spell. There was no mercy in his gaze. Only retribution. He leapt forward. The impact of his takeoff split the ground behind him, sending fragments of earth skyward and

  • CHAPTER 331

The sky darkened unnaturally, casting an eerie twilight over the estate. Jeremiah looked up as the last arc of shadow joined with the rest, sealing them inside a massive black dome. It shimmered with power, humming low like a monstrous heartbeat. The siege had begun. He turned to Lynette. “It’s begun.”“Yes,” she said quietly, eyes locked on the sky. “It has.”Jeremiah glanced down at the box in his hand. Obadiah’s head, expression frozen in death, stared back at him. The man had been a teacher, a guide, a rock of wisdom. And now he was gone. Murdered.“I’m sorry this happened to you, teacher,” Jeremiah murmured, his voice a low promise. “But on your behalf, I’ll make those fuckers pay.”With grim reverence, he set the box down. Then he and Lynette walked toward the convoy, where confusion had begun to blossom into panic.A chorus of murmurs rose as everyone saw the sky had changed. The dome wasn’t just a covering — it was alive. Pulsing. Feeding something.“What the hell is this?” th

[“How? The gate is—“] the driver of the first car asked but went silent to his surprise the gate suddenly opened. [“But how?!”] the driver asked in a panic.Jeremiah had used wordless magic to unlock and open the gate.[“Don’t worry about it and just keep driving”] Steven interjected, stopping the driver beside him from thinking too much into what happened.Because this security detail was provided by the city of Bakers View and not of the Garrick Royal estate, they didn’t know about Jeremiah’s real identity as Lord Crimson or that magic existed. That was why Steven stopped the driver beside him from asking questions and just moved things along. [“Okay, Captain”] the driver reluctantly said and then hit the gas, leading the cars into the estate. All the while, the third car which hadn’t been connected through the channel didn’t know what was really going on. Second after second, the cars got closer to Jeremiah’s house and when they got there everything looked perfectly fine, surpr

Jeremiah weighed his options and came to a final decision on which path to take. “We should go back” he declared. “Go back? As in back to the house?” Reginald asked, an intrigued look on his face.“Yes, back to the house” Jeremiah replied matter-of-factly.“Why?” Reginald inquired.“Though I wish you weren’t here, I honestly feel better with you or should I say Lynette by my side rather than elsewhere where y’all can be attacked by who knows how many enemies, and she, for whatever reason, dies because remember, a single temporary death from hers means you’re gone, forever,” Jeremiah said and Reginald groaned as he reflected on every word.“Alright then. I guess we’re going back” Reginald replied. He then looked at the driver and said “Tell the front car that we’re going back to the apartment”“As you wish, Your Majesty” the driver replied, clearly not on board with the decision because he had picked up on signs of there being a problem and would prefer if they left the city— meanin

It must have skipped my mind”]“Is that so? Alright then. I’ll head back to the house with Dad and everyone else” Jeremiah said.[“That’ll be great, young master. I’ll be waiting for all four of you”] Jeremiah groaned. “Alright then. Bye,” he said and then ended the call. Looking at him, Reginald asked “So we’re going back to your house to speak with the shaman? I wonder what he wants to talk to us about”“Nothing. “I’m sure the young master and his majesty are discussing something important which is why we haven’t moved yet” Kingston reassured. “It’s not about the lack of movement that has me exasperated. I came to this city to spend time with Jeremiah and I haven’t even done that. If we travel back so quickly it would mean that this trip was a complete letdown.” She said. Kingston groaned.“So what do you want to do, Lady Lynette?” Kingston asked “Being the young master’s fiancé, you’re just as influential as he is to those who know the truth. So much so that the artificial intelligence back at the house obeyed your instruction when it wouldn’t have for anyone else besides the young master” Lynette groaned, reflecting on Kingston’s question that asked her what she wanted to do.“Since you’ve already linked yourself and Master Reginald together, you’ve basically protected him from all forms of harm for the next thirty-nine years, so you don’t have to follow us back home if you don’t want to.
