Divorce?

The word rang in Logan’s ears like a slap.

How come?

Charlotte and he had been a loving couple.

Why would she suddenly agree to divorce?

Barbara must be lying!

Logan jumped into a cab, his thoughts spiraling.

Ten minutes later, he stormed into their modest home.

Almost immediately, he saw his mother-in-law Barbara, and a young man that he had never seen before, lounging arrogantly on his couch.

The unfamiliar man was impeccably dressed, and wearing a luxury wristband—his outfit alone was easily worth over a million.

The moment Barbara spotted Logan, her face lit up and her smile turned venomous.

She scolded, “Oh, finally! The deadbeat arrives. Hurry up and sign the divorce papers!”

However, Logan ingnored Barbara’s words entirely.

He looked up at the unfamiliar man and asked coldly, “May I know who this is?”

“You fool, don’t you know who Mr Liam Hayes is? He is the Chief Operating Officer of Rhine Corporation, the most renowned powerhouse conglomerate in Elleville.”

“He earns a million a month and is the perfect husband we've found for Charlotte! Sign the divorce papers now, and Charlotte can be with him!”

Barbara threw the divorce agreement across the table.

So this was Liam Hayes?

Logan had heard the name several times before.

Grandma Sullivan and Barbara had mentioned it again and again, hoping that Charlotte would divorce Logan to marry this man.

In their eyes, a union with the Hayes family wasn’t just a social upgrade—it was a strategic masterstroke.

They also believed that Charlotte's marriage to a Chief Officer at Rhine Corporation, the largest conglomerate in Elleville, would open doors to valuable business connections, boosting their family business and granting them unrivaled access to elite circles in the city.

“You trash, Charlotte is already packing her bags. Don’t you dare idle and waste our time!” Barbara urged impatiently.

Logan clenched his jaw, sure that Barbara was only putting up a show.

There was no way Charlotte could divorce him.

He stepped forward, his voice calm but firm.

“I don’t believe you. Charlotte would never choose this. Not now. Not ever! I know her.”

Barbara scoffed, pointing the divorce papers.

“You think this is a joke? Look at it for yourself then. She already signed!”

Logan's eyes scanned the sheet and almost immediately, his stomach turned cold.

There it was—Charlotte Sullivan’s signature. Elegant, precise, and unmistakably hers!

He stared at it in disbelief, a wave of sorrow flooding his heart.

She had signed it. But why?!

Barbara’s voice pierced through his thoughts.

“Stop staring like a fool and just sign your own part."

"Charlotte’s moving out of this stink hole with Liam. She’s ready for a new life. You should be grateful she even stayed this long!”

But Logan wasn’t listening anymore.

Had he misjudged Charlotte?

Was she giving up him and their daughter?

Meanwhile, Liam took one look at Logan’s plain clothes and sneered.

“I thought Charlotte the beauty would be with someone impressive, but it turns out she’s stuck with a useless freeloader like you. How bizzare! You’re not worthy of her!”

“Get lost! You’re not invited!” Logan snapped.

“This is between Charlotte and me—none of your damn business! You bastard!”

Used to being respected and admired from his high-ranking position, Liam had never been yelled at like this.

“If it wasn’t for Elder Mrs Sullivan begging and Charlotte waiting for me to marry her, do you think I’d enter this asshole you call a house?”

Furious, Liam laughed mockingly.

“And in case you don’t know, Elysian Bloom is already on the verge of bankruptcy. With just one word, I can greenlight a hundred-million-dollar deal and save Charlotte’s company. But you? You’re just a worthless trash. What can you possibly do?!”

Logan’s eyes gleamed with a chilling light.

Liam’s words reminded him of all the insults and contempt he’d suffered from the Sullivan family.

It was the same venom, the same mockery.

“You’d better sign the papers and obediently hand over your wife!”

Seeing that Logan remained silent, Liam assumed he was backing down and decided to press further.

However ...

With a swift kick, Logan sent Liam sprawling to the floor.

The entire Rhine Corporation now belonged to him.

And yet a mere Chief Operating Officer in his company dared to insult him and his wife?

The city held its breath. From the rooftops to the dimly lit streets, an invisible net had been cast, tightening with every passing second. The Night Vipers had moved with precision, their network spreading like veins through the city, each contact alert, each operative in position.Inside the surveillance room, Sophia stood with her arms folded, her eyes glued to the screen before her. Multiple feeds flickered—Logan’s compound, nearby streets, hidden angles that revealed even the slightest movement.Ava stood beside her, calmer, but no less focused.“Positions?” Ava asked without taking her eyes off the screen.“Set,” Sophia replied immediately. “All entry points covered. No movement in or out without our knowledge.”A faint smile appeared on Ava’s lips. “Good.”One of the operatives in the room spoke up, adjusting her headset. “Team Alpha in position. Team Beta ready. All underworld units have confirmed readiness.”Sophia nodded slowly.“This time…” she muttered under her breath, “…

The room pulsed with a charged energy as the leader’s words settled into the minds of every Night Viper present. Each woman understood the weight of the assignment. Logan Brooks was not just any target—he was the Iron Hand, a man who had crushed every challenge, outwitted every enemy, and survived the impossible. And yet, now he had become their shared focus, a puzzle that required total coordination, precision, and ruthlessness.Sophia straightened her spine, feeling the familiar heat of determination rise in her chest. She glanced at Ava, whose eyes mirrored her own—sharp, calculating, and dangerously ambitious. The two of them were aligned in purpose, bound by the shared desire to see Logan defeated and the Collins heritage reclaimed. But Sophia knew better than to underestimate the man they were after. This wasn’t a simple physical conquest; it would require strategy, intelligence, and subtle manipulation. Logan wasn’t someone who could be crushed with brute force alone. The leade

The moment the call ended, a heavy silence settled over the Night Vipers’ meeting hall. It wasn’t the kind of silence that felt peaceful or natural—it was thick, almost suffocating, pressing down on everyone present. The faint, steady hum of the air conditioning was the only sound that lingered, low and constant, as though even the room itself had paused, waiting for the leader to speak and break the tension that had taken hold. She placed her phone gently on the polished table, the soft contact barely audible, yet it seemed to echo in the stillness. Her expression remained calm, composed as always, but there was a sharp edge beneath that composure, something cold and calculating that hinted at her dissatisfaction. Her posture remained straight, her expression composed, her voice steady and authoritative.“This is the Night Vipers,” she said firmly. “I want a direct report on the operation you were assigned. Sophia sat upright in her seat, her posture poised and composed, her face glowing with unmistakable satisfaction. There was a quiet pride in the way she held herself, the kind that came from believing that a long-awaited victory was finally within reach. Beside her, Ava leaned back slightly, her body relaxed but her expression sharp, her lips curled into a knowing smirk that hinted at her confidence in the outcome of their actions. The cheers that had erupted moments earlier still lingered faintly in the room, echoing in the high ceilings and blending with the soft clinking of glasses and murmured conversations.“You’ve done well,” one of the women said, raising her glass slightly in their direction, her tone filled with approval.“Very well,” another added, nodding with a satisfied smile.Sophia inclined her head gracefully, acknowledging the praise with measured elegance. “Thank you,” she said, her voice steady, though there was no mistaking the pride beneath it. “We truly appreciat
