It was the Stratford Dinner party and the place already full with people, everyone talking loud and laughing. The party was very big, only the top big shots in the city could go inside with invitation card, others without, they had to stay outside with the crowd. Just at that moment, a shiny black Phantom Nova drove in slowly, engine humming, people turning their heads.

At the driver side, the door opened and everyone almost stop breathing. It was Amanda Vandmere. She look so beautiful like the moon shine on dark night, her hair long and soft, dress sparkled under the light, skin so perfect it was like porcelain, eyes bright and sharp. People whispered and some even stared openly, “Wow… she look like angel…”, “No woman in this city can beat her beauty…”

Ivy, her mother, walked just behind her, head held high, chest proud, “Finally my daughter gonna step higher in this city,” she said with smile full of pride.

Selena, her secretary, walk beside Amanda, quietly watching, her eyes alert, making sure nothing bad happen.

Then they reach the door, where two security officers standing with serious face. “Invitation card, please,” one said.

Amanda blink. She was surprised a little, because last night when she ask Andrew about it, he told her not to worry. “Don’t worry about this, I will sort it out,” he said.

Amanda frowned, “Huh? But he say… I don’t need to worry… what’s happening now?”

Ivy whisper to her, “Maybe some mistake… just give them card.” But Amanda shake head, still little confused.

People around them still looking, some whispering, “Is she really Amanda Vandmere? So beautiful…” Some even nudging friends, “Look at her… no one can beat that…”

Amanda wasn’t showing the invitation card, he frown and said, “Miss, if you no have card, maybe you go back?”

Selena got really angry, her face turn red and she step forward, “Excuse me! You think you can talk to her like this? She is the Heiress of Vandmere! Don’t you dare speak like that!”

The guard smirk, “Oh really? Heiress or not, rules are rules. You want to enter, you show card. No card, no entry. Simple, yes?”

Ivy notice already some people looking and whispering, “What? Heiress being stopped?” and murmur start spreading around the place. Her face tighten, she take a breath and whisper loud enough for people near her to hear, “Everyone, please calm down, don’t start murmur or embarrass these people. Patience, let them do their job.”

Just at that moment, another car drove in slowly, the engine sound like smooth hum. It was Andrew Belington. People turn their heads, some jaws drop. The new arrival made everything tense feel a little lighter.

Although the Bellington family was among the top families in the city, they were not really the most popular one. People still respect them though. When people hear the name Bellington, they still give some prestige and nod their heads a little.

So when the car stopped and Andrew Belington stepped out, some people in the crowd quickly recognized him.

Ivy’s face brighten up at once.

“Amanda, look! Andrew is here,” she said quickly, sounding relieved.

Amanda also felt happy seeing him walk over. Selena too let out a small breath like some pressure just left her chest.

Andrew walked toward them with calm steps, fixing the sleeve of his suit a little. When he reached them, he looked around with a confused face.

“Why are you all still standing outside?” he asked.

Amanda frowned slightly and said, “They stopped me from entering. They said I must show an invitation letter.”

Andrew blinked once like he just remembered something.

“Ah… invitation,” he said slowly.

He rubbed the back of his neck a little and then smiled. “Just wait here a moment. I will go and settle it.”
