Back at the military base, a figure watched from cameras as Carl Gerald and Debra Zachs interacted. As they left the room, the figure left its place as well.

Unbeknownst to Carl Gerald, he left the gold key out in the open, on top of the counter by the bed.

The figure had been searching for the key for a long time, and the person who’d protected it with his life seemingly left it out like it was of no use.

“Fools will be fools.” The figure chuckled softly. Upon arriving at the room, it opened the door and walked to the counter, grabbing the key.

It peered at the key for a while, occasionally letting off small laughter that lacked sanity, “May the Black Holocaust never end!”

With that, the figure left the Military base, undetected, almost like a shadow without form.

After a short while, Lieutenant Alex entered the room. He felt like something was missing, but he couldn’t put a finger on it. He scanned the room but soon let it off as nothing more than a feeling.
