Later that evening

Jasper was sitting with all the other contestants for the fights. Bud was going over who would be fighting who in the first matches. It was a pyramid win system. If you won in the first round you moved on to the second. There were six matches in round one, three matches in round two, then two matches in round three. Once it was done to one winner, they then had to go against the top champion from the previous competition. Most of the gladiators here today were seasoned and excellent fighters. Jasper however knew in his heart he could beat them all.

The only thing he was worried about was it getting closer to dark. He needed to be away from here before the pitch-black darkness of night set in. He did not know if there was a way to stop his transformation into a werewolf and the last thing, he needed was a bunch a people trying to kill him before he made any progress with his quest. Jasper has been killed by man before many times, and usually he just sees it as part of his cycle. But this time it was different. If he perished now, he would lose the lead he has. When he came back to life it was more than likely that he would be on the other side of the world, and he would not be able to get back here in time before his life cycle repeated once more.

Jasper was going up against a man named Cain in the first round. They would be the last duo of the first round. Cain had a large pink scar that took up most of the left side of the face. It started at his hair line and went down over his eye all the way to his chin. Jasper wondered if he could see out of his eye. His guess was he could not. It was pale blue in color while his right eye was a chocolate brown. He never underestimated an opponent no matter how they looked. Cain was a small man with polished skin. Other than the scar on his face he did not look like much of a fighter. But Jasper knew looks could be deceiving.

The first five rounds went by without a hitch, most ending within the first minute. Jasper took this time to study each warriors combat style. There was a woman with milky skin who moved at lightning speed, and he wondered if she may be supernatural as well. He brushed that idea off. Usually when he came back, he would arise in a place that had a history of the same creature he becomes. Then he thought maybe just maybe she was a werewolf as well. He planned on asking her. That was until her opponent knocked her out in less than thirty seconds. The man she was against was almost as small as a twelve year old child. He could not fathom how he beat this goddess so easily.

When it was time for Jasper to fight, he and Cain entered the ring and waited for the bell to ring. Like his previous fight with Skull, he closed his eyes and as soon as Cain attacked, he knocked him out within the first ten seconds of the round. The crowds cheered hungrily for more. The rest of the rounds went on steadily with Jasper beating every one of his challengers until he was the last man standing. The crowd could not believe their eyes. Of all the gladiators, Jasper was the only one who did not have a mark on him.

“Ladies and gentlemen. Please take your seats and help me welcome our arena champion SABASTIAN!” the crowd went wild with enthusiasm. Sabastian had held the title as arena Champion for three years straight. No one has yet to beat him. And as impressed as everyone was with the newcomer, they had no doubt in their mind that he would continue to hold his title for years to come. Jasper stood staring at Sabastian with pure excitement. He no longer cared about the prize money or if he might change into his wolf form in front of all these witnesses.

Sabastian was a werewolf. Jasper had a photographic memory and all the pictures in that ancient book were burned into his mind. He was in awe that this man stood before him. However old that book was Sabastian was alive than. It was obvious from the look on his face that he recognized Jasper as well.

The two men stood in the ring one in front of the other. “Quickly knock me out than meet me out back after you receive your reward there is much to discuss.” Sabastian said. As soon as the bell rang Jasper wasted no time and punched him in the face with less force than he normally would. He did not want to injure him he just needed the crowd to believe it. Sabastian dramatically fell to the ground and the crowd went silent. It took them a few seconds than they all were on there feet clapping and shouting with excitement. Bud came into the ring grabbed Jasper’s hand and raised it into the air. “Ladies and gentlemen. Our new Arena Champion JASPER MONROE!”

After he received his prize money, he quickly made his way to the alley way out back of the Arena. Sabastian was already there waiting for him. “My son! Where have you been? It has been almost four hundred years. You went on a scouting mission and never returned. Your mate will be astonished to see you!” Jasper stood there his mouth unable to form words. His mind was racing with so many questions but the one he thought the most was, “Did he just call me son?”

Jasper was not sure if the hunter named Hank would try and kill him here and now and he was starting to feel uncomfortable by the way the man was starring daggers at him. Lemont cleared his throat and said, “Calm down brother. The bloodsucker did not say we had to agree to it, it was just a request, and as far as I am concerned it is such a small thing and we should be able to agree. Now tell me, Jasper was it, tell me what makes you want to spare this child-d-d?” Jasper picked up on how hard it was for him to call the vampire a child. It seemed to him Lemont was willing enough to give into Jasper’s request and he figured he may as well tell them the whole truth about the child. Jasper took the next few moments explaining about her special gift. The three brothers all had different expressions on their face when Jasper was through. Lemont looked intrigued, Hank looked mortified, and Paul looked amused. Jasper had to suppress a laugh because looking at the three of them reminded him of

He had an idea which could turn into him dying himself, but he figured his business here was done anyway so if he died prematurely oh well. He approached the man standing on the porch. You could see it in the man’s eyes he knew Jasper was a vampire, before the man could do anything about it Jasper raised his hands in front of him.Jasper gave the man a small smile and said, “I know all you want to do right now is grab your crossbow and destroy me, but I have a proposition for you. There is a whole coven of vampires you have been after to ages and I can help you take them out if you wish. Afterwards I will leave it up to you if you want to kill me or let me go, so what do you say?”The hunter in front of him started laughing hard before saying, “This is rich hahaha. Imagine a stinking blood sucker is offering his help to me. Paul get out here you are not going to believe this shit!

Jasper braced himself for the onslaught of the clan’s attack. He knew he was much faster than them and he was stronger. Deep within him was the power of the wolf that no matter what shape or form he was in would always give him an advantage. He always knew he was better than the others of his kind no matter what creature he turned into, and he now realized it was because of his family’s blood. He promised himself he would try to not kill them, only incapacitate them. The leader of the clan who spoke to Jasper before was the first to attack. Jasper braced himself and just as the other vampire reached him, he pushed his hands out in front of him and sent the man flying into a nearby tree. You could here the tree tremble with the impact of the vampires body along with snapping of at least three of his bones. The vampires healed relatively quickly so Jasper would have to work fast if he could escape before they regained their strength.Jasper decided that his best strategy would be to run

He went to go confront them when Alec grabbed him by the shoulder gesturing with his index finger for him to wait one minute. “Jasper I am worried that if you go out there you will die. Yes, I know you will come back as something else, and I also know I will not be able to talk you out of it. You have always been a man of honor and I know you will make sure they know why the vampire named Ezmerelda will never return to them. I want to help you handle them however I am not like you if I die, I will be gone for good. Tell me what you want me to do here. Whatever your choice is I will honor it.” Alec said with complete devotion. Jasper shook his head and said, “Alec this is not your fight.
