I could barely believe what was right in front of me. A whooping sum of $2,000,000 right in my account.

I counted the Zeros again and I couldn't believe it. I looked around trying to see if I was not dreaming. I slapped my face and I screamed

[ OUCH! ]

Another message popped right in front of me yet again.

[ SYSTEM MESSAGE ; YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS TO SPEND THE MONEY HOW EVER YOU WISH. ]

The game slowly uninstalled itself off my phone. For a moment, I was not sure if I should be happy or sad. That was my lottery ticket to wealth and fame.

And it just disappeared.

I wasn't bothered. Rather my brain swung into formation Andi began to calculate how I was going to spend the sum of $2,000,000 within two weeks.

I know it is a lot of money but damn!

I have a lot of things that need to be done. First, I was going to tear down the cafe and build a new one for Madam Tracy. She deserves the very best.

She has housed me when I don't even have anywhere to go too.

But first, I need to make sure the money is real. I need to be sure. I got off the pavement dusting my buttocks as I ran down the street.

My heart is pumping so much blood that I needed to take a breather when I got to the ATM machine.

I met a long queue.

I furrowed my brows a little and waited. The line was fast as many people don't really have much to cash out from the machine. I kind of felt nervous and praised that the money should not finish in my turn.

Getting to the front of the machine, I let out a gentle breath and for the first time I praised, hoped that the money was right inside my account.

I just needed $10,000 out of the money in the bank. That was enough to make me believe I was two million dollars richer.

I pressed the amount needed and waited for the money to come out but then after waiting for eternity.

Nothing!

I stylishly looked back to see the bald man who had a frown on his face. It was evident I was wasting time.

" One more try." I said reassuring myself that the money was real. I pressed the daily button with shaky hands and waited.

But then, another error message flashed before my very eyes.

" Your account is insufficient."

" Get out of the way boy and stop wasting our time!" he said with a grumpy voice.

His muscular arms kicked me off the line and I fell to the dusty floors with my eyes fixed on him.

I watched as he pressed the number as the solar cash flew out. He let out a grin and looked at me

" That is how you command it, you don't coke down to the machine when you don't have anything to command." he ranted.

I grabbed my phone and looked at the message I got from the bank.

Was this a fake alert?

Or was Derek planning another staunt?

[ AFTER WAITING FOR HOURS ]

My phone rang several times and I saw it was Tracy. I knew she was either calling because I had left without talking to her or because she was worried.

I looked at my rusty and old ATM. I have had it for a very long time. I looked at the bubbling street and I felt the world was cruel.

I got up and decided to give it a list trial before heading home.

I slid the card into the machine and closed my eyes.

But then, I heard the gentle hum of the machine and the fast roll of something that sounded more like paper.

It was counting!

What?

My eyeslid flipped up as the money popped right out.

" Yeah! Yes!" I shouted a lot of attention towards me. I smiled as I pocketed the ten thousand dollar note.

Then it crossed my mind. I had seen the shoes and clothes Mrs Tracy wore when she went to plead for me at the university.

It was old, worn out and tattered. It was only right for me to appreciate her and get her another.

I walked down the stairs feeling like a king and waved a cab. " Where to kid?" the driver who had burnt teeth from smoking looked at me.

" Do you know the most exotic and expensive boutique in town?" I asked staring at him.

I saw the way he looked at me and laughed. " Why don't you sow your clothes according to your size kid? You can't afford any of those fancy dresses." He replied laughing weirdly.

" Why don't you mind your business and drive me down there?" I said making him shut the hell up.

The car ignited and soon we were on our way to the most exotic boutique.

I hailed the cab and headed to the most exotic boutique in town, feeling like a million bucks – or rather, two million bucks. The driver's skepticism only fueled my determination to splurge on something extraordinary. As we arrived at the boutique, I could feel my excitement building up. I was going to get Mrs. Tracy the most stunning outfit, something that would make her feel like royalty.

I stepped into the boutique, and my eyes widened in awe. The racks were filled with designer dresses, sparkling jewelry, and luxurious accessories. I approached the sales associate, a stylish woman with a warm smile.

"Hello, sir! Welcome to our boutique. How may I assist you today?" she asked, eyeing my casual attire with a hint of curiosity.

"I'm looking for something special," I said, my eyes scanning the racks. "Something that will catch the eye. I want to buy a gift for someone very special."

The sales associate's face lit up with interest. "Well, we have just the thing. Follow me, please." she said slowly glancing at my faded outfit

She led me to a section of the boutique that seemed to be reserved for the crème de la crème of fashion. I gasped as I saw the prices, but I didn't care. I was on a mission to find the perfect gift.

As I browsed through the racks, the sales associate told me about the designers, the fabrics, and the inspiration behind each piece. I was impressed by her knowledge and passion for fashion.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I found it – the perfect outfit. It was a stunning evening gown, with intricate lace details and a subtle sparkle that seemed to dance in the light.

"This is it," I said, my heart racing with excitement. "I'll take it."

The sales associate smiled, clearly pleased with my choice. "Excellent taste, sir. I'll get you set up with the alterations and the accessories."

As I waited for the sales associate to ring up my purchase, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. I was doing something special for someone who truly deserved it.

But then the door spring opened and my smile faded into anger.

" And what is a church rat doing in an expensive boutique such as this?" The voice said walking towards me

I was not sure if sharing what I had with the system was important. I drove back home with the thought of Scar betraying me. It was easy for him to switch sides when Eliot died. What is stopping him from switching the moment I was boxed into a tight corner? The thought kept ringing in my mind until I bashed the car right in front of me. " What the fuck!" I said looking at my front. I got down immediately feeling a bit apologetic. " Oh my goodness. I am soo sorry. I didn't know..." I was dazed to see the most beautiful woman I’d ever laid eyes on. Her skin glowed like the soft sheen of caramel under the setting sun, and her eyes—God, her eyes—were the kind that didn’t just look at you but read you. She had this calm intensity, a quiet fire, and even though I’d just rammed into her car, she didn’t scream or cuss. Instead, she stepped out slowly, shutting the door behind her with a soft click. Dressed in a sleek black dress and heels that clicked like authority on the ta

My jaw clenched.Scar's question hung in the air like a poisoned dart. I was not sure how to answer him, but I knew he wanted an answer for his question. Does that include Mandy Celine too?I don't need to answer immediately.I kept walking, slower now, my mind spinning. The hallways were empty. Most of the students were now in their various departments, each focusing on their academics. Scar wasn’t looking at me. He knew he had crossed a line, but he also knew me well enough to ask it.“You still love her,” he said quietly. “Even after she left you for Derek. Even after she said you were nothing but a pauper. Is that it?"“I don’t love her,” I said, my voice low and sharp. “I want her back not because I love her but because I am going to claim everything that belongs to Derek." Scar scoffed. “Sounds like the same thing to me.”I stopped walking. He did too, reluctantly turning to face me.“I don’t want her because of love,” I added with a cold smile. “I want her to know she made t

I stormed out of the class immediately. I heard what Scar told me. I knew there was going to be a problem once he started digging. I met Derek with some of his friends laughing and gisting. The school was hosting a party for some of the new students that had been admitted. I knew it was a way to find out who the system was talking about, but the problem I was having was knowing his intention. Why was he here, and what was his mission?I knew by now that most of the gamers must have been searching, but I was less bothered. I was the Lord Gang, and I could easily command them to look for this mystery guy and bring him to me. Derek's face went pale when he saw me coming towards him. His cronies began to disperse one by one. I pocketed it as I got closer with a look that meant he was in hot soup. "What is this that I am hearing? Why are you interested in the next game?" I asked with my gaze fixed on him. "The system gave out the mission, and it is only right if I partake in it. I am

It was the last thing I expected to see. The message that appeared next made me dumb and scared. [System Task: Find out who Eliot's junior brother is.] [System reward: Eliminate one gamer] My blood froze. What would happen to me if Derek happened to find out who he was? How come? It almost looked like all the ghosts kept coming back. First, it was Zara coming back for revenge, and now Eliot's brother was coming too. Who will come for me if I am killed? That was the question that rang inside this little head of mine. I knew most of the gamers could have seen it too. I heard the whispering and bickering as I walked through the hallway. Then the tweaking started. In less than a few minutes, there were tons of messages already, each asking who killed Elliot. It was like his dead body had risen from the grave. "Don't you think Jason should be scared?" "Why? Did he kill him?" "Don't tell me you didn't hear when he said he had the lives of both him and De

I was surprised too. I didn't want Mrs. Tracy to find out about what was going on with me at the school. At least not yet. Scar and some of the students who were richer, though the system, were lined up with their fancy cars. Each car costs millions of dollars. "And who are those?" Tracy asked, staring at me as I grabbed the lunch bag she gave to me. "They are my friends." I said without blinking. I was getting bolder and more fearless. Not that I didn't notice it, but maybe that was what I really needed right now. I knew there were many obstacles to be cleared, and also I needed to fight more battles each day. "Your friends, huh?" Mrs. Tracy said, trying to find out the truth. I nodded this time around without talking. "Are you being bullied, son?" She asked with her eyebrows arched. "You know we can change your school if you want to." Mrs. Tracy moved closer to me and held my hands. "I was not able to protect my late son, Jason. But you are all I have got now,

I lay on the bed with my thoughts going back and forth. My heart told me Zara meant well, but what if the system pitched us against each other? What am I going to do then? I tried to sleep, but I couldn't. The kiss was all I could replay and think about. Her gentle smile when she kissed my lips and her constant gaze as we drank some coffee and ate our pastries. I rolled on the bed, wishing Zara didn't have to change. The door to my room opened slowly, and I saw Mrs. Tracy standing right in front of it. "Can't sleep." She said it slowly and walked in. "Yes, Mum," I replied, sitting up. "Want to talk about it?" That is the thing. I don't know if I should tell her everything. The system, the date with Zara, and the revenge plan. I was not sure if it was a good idea to tell her everything. "You know, I can't help you if you are not telling me the whole thing. I need to see the picture." Mrs. Tracy looked at me. I nodded. "I just don't know where to start," I replied, br
