Chapter 5

"Put your socks on" I nagged at hajun who was acting like a little kid. He didn't want to go to work because of the amount of work piled up which was stupid since he was wasting more time but I am glad to see his humor back, even though he is a pain in the neck.

 

"I don't want to , you will think they will give me a break considering I was in the hospital for two weeks but the evil tyrants thought it was fun piling them up" he said with a pout looking much like a child who didn't get desert.

"Bet they only wanted me to survive so that they can kill me with work" he muttered under his breath.

"They aren't that lucky" I whispered

"What?"

 

"Nothing! shall we get going?" I said guiding him towards the door.

I turned back to get my coat only to see an empty space where hajun used to stay. In hindsight I should have seen that coming.

"Challenge accepted brat"

After about two hours he finally gave up and let me drag him to work but as we were about to leave we opened the door to find daeshim and a new face we have never seen before.

"I am Han-gyeol, nice to meet you"

We both sat down patiently on the dining table as we waited for daeshim to explain himself.

"As he says his name is Han-gyeol and he will be working with you on this mission" he said with a voice that meant no argument while I just sat there stunned staring at him. I couldn't believe he will just make a big decision like that without telling me.

"I don't mean to be rude but did I tell you that I wanted a new bodyguard" he said calmly but I could still see the annoyance in his eyes.

"You didn't but the situation has changed serious assassins are after you now and let’s not forget the one who thought it was fun to put a bomb in your car to give you a wake up call. He has never been caught and he-"

"Can go jump off a cliff! I am not taking one more bodyguard, doyun is enough and if you are still not comfortable hire more people to watch me from afar but that is the most I am willing to compromise" he said fuming but daeshim had a point they were just petty assassins at first but one was able to get her hands on hydrogen cyanide, a very dangerous chemical. Who is to say more wouldn’t come? And the case of the reaper still hangs over our heads.

With his sign of a snake eating itself, he had managed to wreck havoc on his victims without even touching them. He plays mind games on his victims before he gets bored and kills them or they kill themselves making him the scariest assassin to be sent after someone. If a killer can make you think that death is better off than facing him then he must be a terrifying one.

And another thing, that bullet that seemingly came out of nowhere, if that was part of his tricks that means he was already within the area.I was busy contemplating what to do next when Han-gyeol interrupted me.

"I don't mean to be rude but you put you trust and safety into a scrawny boy to protect you? I bet he can't even open a pickle jar much less protect you.”

 "Really?” I replied calmly even though all I wanted to do was just lunge over the table and rip his throat out. Hajun was visibly steaming while daeshim put his hand his over his head like he was really regretting his choice of bringing him over.

"Care to put your money where you mouth is" I said still trying to restrain my anger.

"Big talk from a scrawny little boy I am shaking in my boot-" before the words could leave his mouth the skin at the top of his ear had already been ripped from his face by the small kitchen knife I threw at him.I walked slowly towards him making sure to make my footfalls sound heavier than my weight.

"For you to talk big like that you should at least have a level of skill.The next time you mouth off in my presence, try to be careful, because if you don’t watch your tongue, you might lose it." I said in a tone so cold that alerted daeshim to drag him out of the house.

I was fuming by the time they left only to feel wet and cold the next second. I stopped in shock only to remember that this, was his little way of always making me laugh. He would either poke my cheek a hundred times or drown me with water balloons, he always succeeded in making me laugh but that didn't mean I still didn't want to kill him when he starts his attempts. I was thinking of ways to mentally crush him till I saw a beautiful red bottle called hot sauce.

"Think again before you start a food fight hajun, think again" I said with an evil grin as I began to approach him slowly.
