“Laura Harris… you are really bold.”Arthur’s voice cut through the warehouse like a blade—sharp, cold, and impossible to ignore. His gaze, frigid and unwavering, pinned Laura in place.Ten minutes earlier, Mason’s men had delivered the full amount—eighty million dollars in cash. The bank manager had been drenched in sweat, hands shaking as he processed a withdrawal he would probably remember for the rest of his life. Only a handful of people in Sky City could take out that kind of money without blinking. But Mason’s right-hand man, Marty, had handled the operation with the efficiency of a seasoned veteran. Now, standing in an open clearing just outside the abandoned factory, three black vehicles lined up with precision. “What are your orders, young master?”Mason’s voice was steady, but the tension in the car was unmistakable. Arthur had not spoken since the phone call with Laura. He sat there, motionless, yet the entire room felt as if the air had thickened—charged, dangerous.Arthur finally exhaled, though it did little to lighten the atmosphere.“She wants forty million?” His tone was quiet, almost too calm.
