Not long after they arrived at Damien villa.

Serenity stood at the gate of the villa, her sharp gaze scanning the luxurious property before her. The questions swirling in her mind had grown too loud to ignore. Despite her earlier dismissal of her assistant's theories, something about Damien didn't sit right with her again. She needed answers, and she was determined to get them herself.

Not long after the door opened to reveal Damien, his expression cool and unreadable as he looked at her. “ Serenity,” he said evenly, stepping aside to let her in. “This is unexpected.”

Serenity entered without hesitation, her posture as commanding as ever.

“I had some questions for you,” she said, her tone clipped.

“I thought it best to address them directly.”

Damien gestured toward the sitting area, his movements calm and unhurried.

“Make yourself comfortable,” he said casually, as though he were entertaining an old friend rather than one of the nation’s most decorated military figures.

Immediately, she began leading them through the carefully arranged displays, starting with some of the more accessible pieces before moving toward the truly rare items. As they moved through the store, she started sharing fascinating details about various unique pieces, telling them about the historical context, the craftsmanship techniques, the cultural significance, and the provenance of different artifacts that caught the light as they passed. However, despite the representative's obvious knowledge and enthusiasm, Sophia found herself somewhat distracted and wasn't particularly interested in the pieces being shown to her initially. Nothing was quite capturing her imagination or speaking to her collector's instincts in the way that truly special pieces did when she encountered them. But then, just as they were moving deeper into the store's more exclusive sections, something changed entirely. Sophia's eyes suddenly landed on a particular item that seemed to call out to her from its

Right away, without wasting another second, the lead guard immediately nodded with professional efficiency and said to Penelope in a low, respectful tone, “We are going to do exactly what you just instructed, ma'am. Consider it handled.” His expression was serious and focused, the look of someone who had carried out similar discreet operations before and understood the importance of following orders precisely while maintaining plausible deniability. But then, without wasting another second, just as the guard was preparing to signal his team to begin their covert pursuit, Penelope suddenly held up her hand to stop them. Her eyes had been tracking Sophia and Damien's movement through the mall, and something about their direction and body language had sparked a different idea in her calculating mind.“Wait,” she said quietly but firmly. “You should just follow my lead instead. I just changed my mind about the approach we're taking.” Her voice carried the authority of someone accustomed t

At that moment, without wasting another second on further confrontation or attempting to salvage what had clearly become an irreparable social disaster, Sophia and Damien immediately started walking away from Penelope and her entourage with purposeful, dignified strides. Their departure was calm but decisive, Sophia's head held high as she linked her arm through Damien's, presenting a united front as they moved deeper into the luxurious shopping mall corridors.Watching them retreat, seeing Sophia's confident posture and complete dismissal of her authority and social superiority, Penelope's carefully manicured fists tightened at her sides until her knuckles showed white beneath her perfectly applied makeup. Her face flushed with a mixture of rage and humiliation as she couldn't believe, absolutely could not process, that Sophia had actually just walked away from her in such an embarrassing and public manner. The audacity of it was staggering to Penelope's sense of social order and hie

At that moment, upon hearing what Sophia just said with such sharp finality and unmistakable authority, Penelope was utterly surprised by the sudden shift in tone and energy. Her perfectly composed expression faltered for just an instant, her eyes widening slightly as she processed the fact that Sophia had actually just told her to shut up in public, in front of her bodyguards, in the middle of an upscale shopping mall where maintaining appearances was everything. The shock was clear on her face as she struggled to process this unexpected turn of events. Then, recovering slightly from her initial surprise, she asked Sophia with a mixture of indignation and disbelief coloring her voice, “What did you just say to me? Did I hear that correctly?”Immediately, without wasting another second, without backing down or softening her position in any way, Sophia repeated her words with even more force and clarity than before. Her voice carried across the marble corridor with unmistakable convict

Sophia immediately nodded with what appeared to be genuine admiration, though internally she was calculating how to navigate this increasingly uncomfortable conversation without giving Penelope any additional opportunities to gloat or probe deeper into her personal circumstances. “Wow, it really sounds like you're actually living your life exactly the way you had always dreamed it would be,” she said with carefully modulated enthusiasm. “You're currently living the most fulfilled life imaginable, aren't you? And thank God that your husband actually loves you so much that he wants to protect you and provide for you in all these incredible ways. The level of care and attention he shows you is very, very impressive.”Sophia's words seemed to hit exactly the right note, feeding into Penelope's obvious desire for validation and recognition. Immediately, Penelope started laughing with genuine delight, a sound that carried both pleasure and a hint of superiority as she basked in what she

Knowing fully well what Penelope actually wanted from this encounter, recognizing the trap that was being laid out before her with careful precision, Sophia knew instinctively that it would be of great disadvantage to her if she actually played directly into Penelope's hands. This was how their rivalry had always functioned - subtle verbal sparring disguised as polite conversation, each woman looking for weaknesses to exploit, for opportunities to assert dominance over the other. Sophia had no intention of giving Penelope that satisfaction today. Then she cleared her throat delicately, composing herself and putting on her own mask of polite civility as she responded. “Well, I've been extremely busy with school and everything related to that - you know how demanding academic pursuits can be. And then there's the family responsibilities and all the obligations that come with that, so I haven't really been out and about in society all that much lately.” She paused, then delivered what
