Benjamin was slightly startled before sneering, "What a joke! You're nothing but a lowly creature living in the gutter. Do you really think I'd believe your big talk?"

Cyrus remained unfazed, his composure unshaken. He looked Benjamin straight in the eye and said calmly, "Benjamin, don't be so full of yourself. There are things in this world far beyond your imagination."

A faint smile played on Cyrus's lips; taking down a police chief was nothing more than a piece of cake for him.

Benjamin was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter. "You think you can scare me with that? That's ridiculous!"

Cyrus crossed his arms and said coldly, "Is that so? We'll see about that."

The Thompson family members were left speechless by Cyrus's sudden confidence, and the living room fell into a heavy silence as everyone waited to see what would happen next.

Moments later, Benjamin's phone rang abruptly. When he answered, his face turned pale, and cold sweat began to bead on his forehead.

"Benjamin, you b*stard! Who did you offend? You got me in big trouble!" Lance's furious voice roared through the phone.

"What? How is that even possible?" Benjamin's voice trembled as he stared at Cyrus in disbelief.

Cyrus smiled faintly and asked, "Do you believe me now, Benjamin?"

Benjamin collapsed onto the sofa like an empty shell, his eyes filled with fear and panic.

The Thompson family members exchanged bewildered glances, their faces a mix of confusion and shock as they tried to piece together Cyrus's identity and capabilities.

"This has to be a coincidence! Cyrus, you're nothing but bad luck. I'll kill you!" Benjamin roared, standing up in a rage. He pulled out a knife and lunged at Cyrus.

Benjamin was like a beast, his bloodshot eyes and twisted expression making him look almost grotesque.

The knife in his hand gleamed coldly as he thrust it toward Cyrus's chest as though trying to channel all his anger and fear into this one strike.

"You fool!" Cyrus moved like lightning, grabbing Benjamin's knife-wielding wrist before anyone could react.

A sharp glint flashed in Cyrus's eyes, and with a slight twist of his hand, the crisp sound of breaking bones echoed through the living room.

Benjamin let out a blood-curdling scream, collapsing to the ground and writhing in agony.

Josephine covered her mouth in shock, while the Thompson family members stared in horror, their faces pale.

Cyrus looked down coldly at Benjamin, who was rolling on the floor, and said, "This is what happens when you overestimate yourself."

The living room was thick with fear and tension, everyone stunned by Cyrus's power and decisiveness.

"This isn't over!" Benjamin hissed through gritted teeth, clutching his arm as he stumbled out, leaving behind a threat.

"Cyrus Parker, how dare you attack Mr. Anderson! You're so dead!" Aaron shouted, his face red with anger and his body trembling as he pointed at Cyrus.

"Hudson, take your daughter and get the hell out of the Thompson family. You're no longer welcome here!" Aaron declared, deciding to expel Hudson to avoid further trouble.

Hearing this, Hudson panicked and pleaded, "Dad, you can't do this. This isn't our fault. It was all Cyrus's doing!"

Josephine said angrily, "Grandpa, how could you be so heartless? Cyrus did this for me!"

Elena pleaded beside her, "Dad, please reconsider, for the sake of how I've cared for you."

She emphasized the words "cared for."

Aaron remained unmoved and replied, "This is not up for discussion. Leave now!"

Cyrus held Josephine's hand and reassured her, "Josephine, don't be afraid. I'm here."

Hudson and his family were expelled from the Thompson family and fell into dire straits.

"Cyrus, you got us all in trouble! Why would my daughter marry a stupid motherf*cker like you?" Elena pointed at Cyrus, cursing relentlessly.

Josephine couldn't hold back and shouted, "Mom, stop talking about Cyrus like that. This isn't his fault!"

Elena refused to listen and continued berating him, "Not his fault, huh? If it weren't for him, would we have been kicked out of the Thompson family? Now we have nothing, and it's all because of him!"

"Stop! Let's find a place to settle down first," Hudson sighed, resigned to what he believed was fate.

"Why are you still following us?" Elena snapped, her face filled with anger and disgust as she glared at Cyrus with a sharp, piercing voice.

"Mom, if Cyrus can't come with us, I'm leaving," Josephine said firmly, her eyes sparkling with determination. She held Cyrus's hand tightly and stared back at Elena without backing down.

Elena trembled with anger and said, "You foolish girl! How can you be so stubborn? Cyrus ruined our lives. What kind of life could you possibly have with him?"

Josephine bit her lip and replied, "Mom, Cyrus is good to me. I trust him, and I want to be with him no matter what."

Seeing Elena and Josephine at an impasse, Cyrus spoke up, "Mrs. Thompson, I will work hard to prove myself. I won't let Josephine down."

Elena snorted. "Hmph, I don't believe it."

"Mrs. Thompson, my friend has a spacious house. Why don't you all stay there?" Cyrus suggested, deciding to take them to Golden Land, the largest manor in Millbrook City.

Josephine seemed to guess his intentions and clung to his arm. "Honey, you're not taking us there, are you?"

"Hmph, what kind of decent place could you possibly have? Your friends are probably no better than you!" Elena said, her face full of doubt and disdain as she looked at Cyrus sideways, her words dripping with sarcasm.

Josephine frowned and said, "Mom, stop. Cyrus is just trying to help us."

Elena snorted again. "Help us? I think he's just bragging to deceive you."

Cyrus took a deep breath, suppressing his displeasure, and said, "Mrs. Thompson, you'll see when we get there."

Elena crossed her arms and said, "Fine, let's see what tricks you have up your sleeve."

Hudson awkwardly interjected, "Stop arguing. Let's just go and take a look first."

When they arrived, Josephine, having stayed there for a few days, was already accustomed to it, but Elena and Hudson were stunned by what they saw on their first visit.

Before them stood a magnificent manor with imposing iron gates. Inside, a wide stone path stretched forward, bordered by rare flowers and towering trees on both sides.

At the center stood a grand, castle-like building. Its white walls gleamed under the sunlight, and its spires seemed to pierce the sky.

Elena's mouth fell agape, her eyes wide with shock, leaving her utterly speechless. Hudson stood frozen, his face filled with disbelief.

Hudson stammered, "This... This is unbelievable! Cyrus, who... who exactly is this friend of yours?"

"Well, probably just a gardener, and we'll likely stay in the workers' quarters!" Elena scoffed, refusing to believe Cyrus could arrange for them to stay in such an opulent manor.

But as soon as they got out of the car, the servants at the entrance immediately bowed.

"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen!"

The servants stood in two neat rows, bowing slightly with respectful smiles. Their attire was immaculate and elegant, their demeanor professional and well-trained.

Elena was stunned into silence, her mouth agape, while Hudson stood awkwardly, unsure of how to respond.

Josephine's face lit up with pride, her eyes full of love and admiration as she looked at Cyrus.

Cyrus remained calm and said, "Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Thompson, shall we go in?"

Elena snapped back to reality, a hint of embarrassment flickering across her face, but she quickly tried to regain her composure as she followed the group into the manor.

Inside, the decorations were even more breathtaking. There was a magnificent hall filled with golden furnishings, priceless antiques, and exquisite murals that left everyone in awe.

Hudson walked cautiously, afraid of breaking anything, while Elena's earlier arrogance had melted into quiet reverence.

"My friend is abroad and asked me to look after the manor. You can stay here as long as you like. He won't be back anytime soon, and we can move out once we find a new place," Cyrus said calmly and gently. In truth, the manor was his.

Hudson's eyes widened in disbelief. "Cyrus, your friend is really generous."

"Even so, don't think this changes anything. I won't let you marry Josephine!" Elena snapped, still refusing to accept Cyrus. She was convinced this manor wasn't his and that he'd be exposed when the supposed friend returned.

Elena thought the four major families were a more reliable option. If she could just keep Josephine under control and find the right opportunity to get her into Benjamin's bed, surely Benjamin would forgive them. This sinister thought swirled in her mind as her eyes grew cunning.

"Mr. Parker, I apologize for my poor management, which allowed such an ignorant person to offend you. Please don't hold it against me," Owen said, bowing deeply with an overly fawning expression. Sweat rolled down his forehead as his voice trembled."Where's the money?" Cyrus raised one simple question."Oh! Here it is!" Owen hurriedly handed Cyrus a card."Mission accomplished!" Cyrus smiled and passed the bank card to Josephine.Josephine's eyes widened in surprise and disbelief. She hadn't expected collecting the debt to be so easy, and Owen seemed absolutely terrified of Cyrus.Owen stood beside them with a flattering smile and said, "Mr. Parker, if you ever need anything from me in the future, feel free to tell me."Cyrus didn't even glance at him. Taking Josephine's hand, he said, "Let's go."As they walked out of the Jackson Group building, Josephine was in a rather good mood."You're not an ordinary person at all, right? Why was Owen so afraid of you?" Josephine pouted, clearl

Lance frowned and said after a moment of contemplation, "If it really is someone from the Parker family, we're in trouble. We wiped out the entire Parker family back then, but it seems some of them managed to survive the massacre."David snapped harshly, "Who cares if he's from the Parker family or not? Anyone who dares to oppose the Anderson family must die!"Sarah shook her head weakly and said, "It's not that simple. If he really is from the Parker family and waited until now to make their move, he must be well-prepared. We can't afford to let our guard down."John nodded, his expression serious. "Exactly. We need to handle this carefully. First, let's send people to investigate the Parker family's past and look for any clues. We have to figure out who the masked man is."Lance added, "We also need to strengthen our home's defenses in case he attacks us again."David, growing impatient, shouted, "Hmph! I'd like to see just how capable he really is!"The next day, Cyrus drove an ord
