The Worthington family members were stunned. Luke never expected his eldest grandson to be struck by a useless man.

"You bastard, what are you doing? Are you looking for death?"

Luke jumped up, pointing his cane directly at Duncan’s face.

Thud.

Jason couldn't contain his anger and lunged at Duncan, intending to land a punch.

But before he could touch him, Michael kicked him away. Jason’s portly body wobbled and crashed into a chair, a sharp pain blooming in his chest.

"Who the hell are you to act so brazenly in the Worthington house? Where is everyone?"

Luke roared in fury.

Michael stood in a defensive stance in front of Duncan. Branwell, clutching his face, ran behind Luke.

"Anyone who dares to humiliate my wife shall die."

Without saying much, Duncan’s words pierced everyone’s ears.

"Where is everyone? Are they all dead?"

Luke felt humiliated. Regardless of the circumstances, the Worthington family was one of the reputable families in Neon City. How could they let a useless brat insult them like this?

"Kate is a Worthington. I have the right to marry her off to whomever I choose. Who do you think you are?"

"She is my wife. She is no longer a Worthington."

Duncan asserted firmly.

"You... you... as long as I wish it, she will no longer be your wife."

Luke was shaking with rage.

"If you are talking about those guards at the gate, they won't be coming in."

Michael added as a reminder.

The Worthington family looked at Duncan and Michael with utter disdain. Seeing them in old clothes with dust-covered faces, they assumed both were just poor thugs who had picked up a bit of fighting skill.

Internally, they were afraid these two might do something reckless and physically harm them. Beyond that, they viewed them with nothing but cheap contempt.

If they had known the man before them was the legendary God of War, and that General Michael was one of the four great generals of Arcadia, they would have been on their knees.

"You..."

"Kate, Father, I am back. I will get justice for you both."

Duncan glanced at the Worthington family. It was enough to understand how much humiliation and resentment his wife and father-in-law had endured over the past few years.

"What can you do? You were gone for three years, and you come back looking like this. How can you do anything? My father..."

Kate spoke through tears, feeling a sense of helplessness and disappointment. She had hoped he would return as a success, someone who could help her and her father.

Instead, looking at his current state, she really couldn't expect much more from him.

"Duncan, take Kate away. Live however you can, but don't let her... be trampled on by others."

Gianni himself was deeply disappointed, but he knew that Duncan loved his daughter. Life might be hard, but it was better than letting his daughter be a toy for those people to trample on.

This was the only thing he could do for his daughter. He blamed himself for being too useless.

"Father, I don’t need that."

Seeing her father like this broke Kate’s heart.

"You’re all very good at this family drama, aren't you? Kate, remember who provided the medicine for your father. Without the Worthington family, you two wouldn't be here. Think carefully. Either crawl into Young Master Kendrick’s bed or get out. From now on, the Worthington family has nothing to do with you two. Live or die, it’s not our concern."

Luke slammed his cane against the floor to intimidate Gianni and his daughter.

"Come with me. Will you?"

Duncan didn't say much; he didn't want to stay in this filthy place any longer.

While Kate was hesitating, she looked at her father. She knew Luke was right. Her father’s medical bills amounted to hundreds of millions a month. Without the Worthington family’s support, her father’s life would likely be over.

If she stayed, she would be pushed into Kendrick’s bed to trade for family benefits. If she left, what would happen to her father?

"No, I can’t. My father..."

"Can you trust me? I will take care of you and Father."

Duncan interrupted Kate. He wanted to return with glory and make his wife proud and his loved ones happy.

But perhaps, with his current identity, going public would only cause the vermin to swarm around him and those close to him.

It was best to keep his identity hidden. He still had a vendetta to settle; many things about that year were still unclear. He would personally reclaim everything for his friend who was still in prison.

"Kate, we should go. I trust Duncan."

Gianni didn't actually believe Duncan could do anything; he just didn't want Kate to accept being someone else’s plaything for his sake.

"If you don’t agree, I would rather die than stay here."

Gianni was resolute, using all the courage of his life to protect his daughter.

"Father, I..."

"Fine. This is rebellion. You enjoy everything from the Worthington family but want to turn away. Good, good. If you walk out of this house today, then whatever happens in the future will have nothing to do with the Worthington family."

Luke made his solemn declaration.

Liam MacCoinnich had always been a man who was all bark and no bite, so when he was overwhelmed, he quickly complied."Are you certain?"Duncan maintained his nonchalant demeanor, looking at Anthony MacCoinnich with a provocative gaze."Call him. Even if the MacCoinnich family was not what it used to be, it was not the place of some arrogant upstart to come here and cause trouble."Hello, Mr. Jamieson? The MacCoinnich elder wishes to see you."On the other end of the line, Enoch Jamieson frowned slightly and rubbed his temples upon hearing the name of the MacCoinnich family. He knew that

Duncan looked at the group of people, his expression devoid of emotion. They were so highly respected by others, yet look at their behavior. An elderly woman was kneeling on shards of glass, weeping and pleading; surely everyone in the MacCoinnich family knew of her circumstances. It was simply that they placed themselves on such a high pedestal that they didn't care to notice."Duncan, Sir Royce hasn't even sat down yet. How can you have the audacity to sit?"Liam MacCoinnich was looking for a fault to criticize; he was always like this. He possessed no actual talent but loved to nitpick others.
