Chapter 1: Leit

“I'm baaack. Did you miss me? It doesn't matter, what matters is that I got a huge order today so there's lot of work to be done so please start crushing these babies for me. I don't them to be very small, marble size will be enough.”

A grey skin, very big triangular head, big eyes, two holes, small mouth, a one meter body, very skinny with only two fingers and two spoke to an old man who was watching anime. He called himself Tom and was a psychic alien, hence the big head. 

Watching anime was an old man who had entered his eighties, he had a head and face full of scruffy white hair, chocolate skin and a bit skinny and malnourished. The old man didn't say nothing when Tom spoke to him, he just paused his anime and took the huge backpack that Tom was carrying. 

The backpack was very heavy and when the old man opened it, it was full of valuable crystals and minerals of different colours and other stuff covered in mud or mixed with rocks. The old man sat down on the couch and placed the backpack on the table. He then took out a big blue crystal, opened his mouth and bit into it. 

Crack! Crunch! Crunch! Crunch! Crunch! 

Ptui! Ptui! Ptui! Ptui! Ptui! Ptui!

The old man's teeth didn't actually break when he bit the crystal but a big chunk of of it was broken off and chewed by the old man then he spat out smaller pieces of the crystal on the glass table, wiped them then put them on a small sack. 

He was living in this one bedroom apartment, there was a small kitchen but no food, a bathroom but no water, instead, this place was full of broken stuff and advanced technological equipment used to process valuable minerals. Every once in a while, Tom would come back with an energy solution that the old man drank. 

After drinking the energy solution, the old man wouldn't be hungry for weeks, also, he neither had to take a bath nor go to the toilet. 

The old man continued to bite the minerals, chew them then spit out smaller pieces and put them in small sacks. This has been his job from the third day he came here. He was brought here when he was only eight years old, Tom had come to his home with men wearing suits who burned his parents alive using flame guns then took him away. 

After being brought here, Tom told him that he simply had to crush the stones he brought back from outside and patiently taught him what and how to do it and after years of doing the same thing over and over again, he finally got the hang of it and hadn't said a single word ever since he came here. 

“Ooh, Leit, you crushed them just the way I wanted. Don't worry, after I come back this time around, I'll bring back a gift for you and you'll definitely love it.” said Tom and collected the sacks using his psychic powers. Tom always made empty promises to the old man whose name was Leit and Leit didn't show any emotions like he was emotionless like a robot. 

After crushing a few crystals with his powerful teeth, Leit dosed off, a habit he'd developed from an early age and now that he was old, it occurred more frequently and took longer and break away from it. Tom was already used to this so he didn't say anything and continued to check and collect the small sacks. 

Five minutes later,Leit came back to his senses and continued to work until only the dirt covered crystals and rocks were left. Tom stood up and went to the toilet, he always does this after he's counted a hundred small sacks.

Leit began biting through the rocks, there was jades in some rocks and nothing in others but Leit didn't care and patiently continued to work, he was almost done anyway. He just wanted to go back to watching his anime. 

Leit watched anime like Solo Levelling, Reverend Insanity, Battle Through The Heavens, Jujutsu Kaisen and Monster Among Monsters. He watched these anime over and over again because apart from them, there was nothing else to watch. He watched them everyday because they reminded him of his home back on Earth. 

Leit bit into the last rock that was about thirty centimetres. After taking the first bite, Leit’s eyes widened in surprise and couldn't help himself from taking a second, third… In mere seconds, Leit devoured the thirty centimetre rock and it was very delicious, very delicious that Leit felt like he hadn't had enough and wanted more of it but the bag was now empty. Leit then calmed himself down and was about to wipe the jades clean before putting them in sacks when something shocking happened.

Leit received two notifications directly in his mind and he remained frozen for a long time. Tom came out of the toilet and saw the frozen Leit and didn't think much of it. He collected the jades and the empty backpack then left the house without even telling Leit. Leit came back to his senses five minutes later and stuttered in a hoarse and groggy voice. 

“Sta…Sta…Status…” then a status panel that only he could see appeared before him.
