Chapter 22

Mark mounted the driver’s seat and was about to start his car when his phone gave a buzz.

“Fuck!” his eyes widened in horror after reading the message.

It was from Carl.

He quickly yanked off his seat belt and got out of the car. He ran back to the house with his eyes glued to the phone screen.

“I thought you left the house already.” Joseph pointed out after Mark made his way to the living room.

Mark walked up to his father. “I just got a message from Carl.”

Joseph snatched the phone from his son. He read the message and looked up to Mark. “He wants to meet with you.”

“That’s the problem.” Mark slapped his thighs. “You know that our debt is overdue dad and Carl summoning me might be a trap.”

“So what are you going to do?” Joseph demanded and passed the phone to Mark. “Are you going to avoid him? You know that we can’t outsmart Carl. No one can.”
