Meanwhile, back at Paige's family, they were all glad. “It's a good thing you got rid of him.” Tiffany said with a wide grin. “Why now?” Cassandra’s father asked, staring at her in the face. “I got what I wanted. I see no reason why I should keep him around.” Cassandra said with a smirk etched on her face.

“And what is that?” Frank Paige asked. Cassandra was about to talk when her phone rang. “Is that Williams?” Tiffany asked. Cassandra nodded, getting out of her sofa chair. She walked briskly into the other room, where her parents could hear her giggle with laughter.

“Mom, what do you think about planning the biggest wedding in town?” Cassandra asked, staring at her mother. “Did he pop the question? Did he ask you out?” Tiffany looked at her. “Yes, Williams would like to marry me, but of course I need to divorce Ethan.”

“Why didn't you think of getting him a divorce letter before you decided to end things with him?” Frank looked at her.

“Because the marriage was a scam. I see no reason why I need to officially end things with him.” Cassandra replied nonchalantly. “But didn't you sign the document stating you are going to wed this ill-fortuned guy?” Frank looked at her again. “Doesn't matter, Dad. I am going to find him and give it to him. Nothing is going to stop me from getting married to Williams. I have waited for this all my life.” Cassandra said, calling her lawyer.

Cassandra leaned against the wall of her room, her phone pressed tightly to her ear as her lawyer's voice echoed on the other end.

"You want to push the divorce papers immediately?" the lawyer asked, his tone sharp and direct.

"Yes, I want it finalized as soon as possible," Cassandra replied. "Find him and make sure he signs it. I don’t care what it takes."

The lawyer hesitated. "Finding Ethan might not be easy. Last I heard, you had him thrown out of work and your home. Finding him might not be easy; this could take longer than you think."

Cassandra clenched her teeth. "I don’t care how difficult it is. Find him and make it happen."

Ending the call, Cassandra felt a wave of satisfaction wash over her. With Ethan gone, Williams was her future, and she wasn’t about to let anyone or anything stand in her way.

[ BACK AT MIRANDA'S MANSION ]

Ethan stared at the steaming cup of coffee on the table before him, Miranda’s words replaying in his mind. Freedom. Revenge. A chance to rebuild your life. He wanted to believe her, but her offer seemed too good to be true. He remembered how Cassandra had discarded him like a piece of trash when she was done using him.

What was the chance that Miranda wasn't any different?

"You still haven’t answered my question," Ethan said, breaking the heavy silence. "What happens if I say no?"

Miranda, seated gracefully across from him, leaned back in her chair. Her calm demeanor didn’t waver. "If you say no, I’ll respect your decision," she replied. "But you’ll go back to the streets with nothing. No roof over your head, no food, no chance to start over. Is that what you want?"

Ethan’s jaw tightened. He hated how her words stung deep into his skin. She was right—he had nothing. Yet, her offer still felt like a trap; his mind shifted back and forth, not sure of how to reply to Miranda’s demands.

"Who is this man you want to take down?" Ethan asked, trying to buy time to think.

Miranda gazed at him. "His name is Williams Hargrove. He’s a corrupt businessman who’s ruined countless lives, including mine. He hides behind wealth and power, but he’s nothing more than a criminal in a suit."

Ethan frowned. The name rang a bell. “Hargrove," he muttered. "He’s that bigshot CEO, right? Owns half the city? I think...” he said nothing, trying to know if he could really trust Miranda.

"Exactly," Miranda confirmed. "But what he doesn’t own is his conscience. And that’s where you come in."

"Me?" Ethan asked, skeptical. "What can I do that you can’t?"

"You’ll be my weapon," Miranda said bluntly. “No one will see you coming. And with my resources, you’ll have everything you need to take him down. Besides, you have never told me who wronged you.”

“Not now.” Ethan said, slowly running a hand through his hair.

Was this his chance to fight back against those who had crushed him? Or was he just trading one set of chains for another?

Before he could respond, Miranda leaned forward, her eyes locking onto his. "Think about it, Ethan," she said, her voice softening. "You’ve been dealt a bad hand, but this is your chance to change the game. Don’t let fear stop you."

Ethan exhaled slowly, his resolve wavering. "I’ll think about it," he said finally.

"That’s all I ask," Miranda replied with a faint smile. "Take your time."

[ BACK AT THE PAIGE'S HOME ]

Cassandra stormed back into the living room, her face flushed with anger. "The lawyer says it could take weeks to track Ethan down!" She snapped, throwing her phone onto the couch.

Tiffany raised an eyebrow. "Weeks? That’s unacceptable. You need to be married to Williams before the end of the year."

"I know!" Cassandra barked. "That’s why I’m taking matters into my own hands. If the lawyer can’t find him, I will."

"And what will you do when you find him?" Frank asked, his tone dripping with disapproval. "Beg him to sign the papers?"

Cassandra smirked. "Beg? Please, Father. Ethan will sign those papers, even if I have to twist his arm to make him do it."

Frank shook his head, his expression a mix of disappointment and amusement. "Just be careful, Cassandra. People like Ethan have a way of coming back to haunt you."

Cassandra waved him off. "Ethan? Haunt me? Don’t be ridiculous. He’s nothing. And soon, he’ll be gone for good."

  • False Ideology

At this time, while all of that was busy happening with Miranda, Ethan was in a different place entirely, the only way he knew what was going on with his wife was of course through the public and through his own interaction with her. He was not even a little worried about her as he knew that William could not do anything to her again, not after all that he had said out to the public. It did not matter how much of the media or the press was in his hands, he would still be in danger if he were to go beyond the line and say or do something, anything that could put her in trouble. In Angola, Ethan kept on finding and revealing more and more secrets regarding William, it was there and then that he discovered that not only was William involved with the mafia and closely linked to the Don, but that he was also into drug trafficking and not on a small scale. This made him even more at ease and he began to gather as much evidence as he could as this would make a strong case against Wil

  • The explanation

I sighed tiredly as I followed Roslyn behind. She had promised to tell me something and I'm so eager to hear what she had to say. We stopped at a small barbecue stand that evening. The bar was buzzing with noise from a not too far distance. "Would you have some?" I asked, staring over at her and she nodded. "I'm paying for two" I told the man and he smiled before wrapping up the barbecue,he handed it to me and I gave the two to Roslyn. I dipped my hand into my back pocket and brought out my wallet and paid for the barbecue. "Do you sell those drinks too?" I asked pointing over at the cokes that were resting on the wall. "Of course I do. It won't be nice if you buy barbecue without drinks, should I wrap it up?" He asked and i nodded and he gave me the drink while I paid the bills. After doing so,I look into my wallet and I saw no penny in it. "Let's go over there" I pointed a bench not too far from the stand and we went there and sat on it. "You said you want to tell me something"

  • Contract states

Miranda's initial priority had to be securing her company, and everything else had to be taken out of the way. She watched him carefully, hoping that he didn't even figure out she had a hand in Jenna's kidnapping because that was going to close a lot of problems between them, and she would rather just stay on her own. The next few days revolved around planning dangerously and now finding out what exactly the problem is. "Is there something you want to tell me that you feel is going to make me mad?" Ethan heaved a huge sigh, deciding that it was time to take the bull by the horns and not go around being a coward anymore. No one was going to force him into hiding except he allowed them and he was ready to put his foot on the ground and deal with the situation. Miranda observed the terrain and finally decided to take a better step in approaching this issue so that she didn't fall into the trap that he had obviously set. "Define what anger means to you and maybe I would have an in

  • renumeration

"Why didn't you pick up my call when you saw it? Didn't you think that it could be very important or you felt like I was just going to reach out to you if I did not have anything tangible to do? Is that what you really think of me? Do you think that I don't have a business of my own or something to focus on instead of reaching out to you countless times yet you refuse to pick up? I don't know why I even bother with you. I don't know why I waste my time!" As interesting as her words sounded Ethan's only response was a nod. He knew that it was going to make her even madder than she was already, but that was exactly what he was going for. He wanted her to feel the heat. "I should have jumped simply because you called just to show you how interested I am in your life and everything that you have done so far but that is not my kind of thing and you will let me be. I do not enjoy being pestered in case you do not know. I would not sit here and hear you speak rudely simply because you fee

  • The peace

Cassandra had never imagined in her entire life that she would be talking to Williams on a neutral ground besides always begging him to do her bidding. Now it was her time to shine and she was going to take it to heart. She wasn't going to allow them to move her away from her rightful place but she was going to keep her mouth shut and listen to whatever he had to say well pretending that she loved everything he was talking about. "You suddenly want me to help you right? Have you suddenly forgotten everything that you have done to me and said to me? You don't just come up from nowhere and expect me to welcome you into my life like you deserve it. I don't deserve the way you speak to me and I am going to treat you that same way in return." The amount of anger that went through his mind was not enough to stop him from thinking of how to deal with her but at the same time still hoping that he was able to handle the situation properly. Williams regretted calling her because now she

  • The request

Jada's attempt to apprehend Ethan at the casino was a colossal failure. The instant she fired the gunshot at the man who stood up to accuse Ethan of offending him, she attracted the attention of Ethan's burly guards who were stationed outside. She had been hoping to shoot Ethan, and if she had been patient enough to place the right target, she would have been successful. Now, an innocent man was struggling to breathe in an ICU. After this occurrence, the entire underground world and social media burst into an uproar. Everyone began to question what Williams's exact motives were. A thorough investigation was conducted and then it was discovered that he had violated the rule of the made men coven. Ethan had not committed any offense against him, he only made the bounty decree to rile up innocent people and perpetrate rancor in the society. To the regular people, Williams had merely decided to assassinate a fellow businessman because he had been jealous. Miranda did a good job promo
