He was delighted, but soon, his face turned ugly.

Unknown to him, his ocean eyes turned bloodshot as even red veins began to pop up on his head.

At this moment, he felt losing his consciousness, but he knew he could not afford to do so.
Hence, he tried his best to hold the meager consciousness he had while fighting the urge to faint.
The wave of enormous torment continued to assault him until he slowly felt it was diminishing, giving him some time to breathe.
His blurry vision slowly returned, and when he saw the corpse in front of him, he was given a fright.
The corpse seemed to have aged for years, as though what remained on its body was skin and bones.
There seemed to be no blood flowing inside its body.
When he recalled the ocean of blood, he thought it would make sense if the mysterious voice’s power related to blood.
If he consumed the blood of the corpse, he must have recovered, at least, right?
He attempted to move his limbs once again and found controlling them without much difficulty.
He slowly stood up and patted his shabby clothes while searching for the bruise after he was beaten up by the despicable man inside.
However, there was no bruise inside his body, and the only conspicuous alteration that occurred on his body was the color of his skin, turning light brown from dark-tanned.
He silently celebrated in delight as he soon heard the voice of the mysterious voice again.
“Don’t celebrate early.” It appeared to speak directly to his mind. “I have gotten rid of the poison and recovered your body to the peak. But you want the power to kill the person inside, right?
If you don’t want it, then the chances of you killing him are close to nil. The disparity of strength between you two is enormous.
However, if you want it, then, at the very least, you have a fifty percent chance of winning against him.”
Lu Zheng ruminated, lightly pinching his chin.
He indeed begged to obtain the power to kill the man inside, even claiming he would give his soul in exchange.
However, it originated from his heart, without thinking about it too much.
Now that he had a clear mind, he wanted to contemplate it.
Would selling his soul to obtain a power, which might be temporary, be worth it?
However, he failed to analyze his interaction with the mysterious voice earlier when he was begging to obtain power from him.
The mysterious voice never agreed to have his soul when he said he could have his soul in exchange for power.
Perhaps giving Lu Zheng power while taking revenge was only entertainment for him.
Lu Zheng kept believing that the mysterious voice wanted to own his soul and even his body.
So after he exacted revenge on the man inside the treasures of the clan, the mysterious voice would control his body.
He did not want such a horrifying assumption to come true.
He was about to ask the mysterious voice, but he was afraid he would offend him.
Meanwhile, the mysterious voice felt amused by Lu Zheng’s line of thought.
In the first place, he never asked for Lu Zheng’s soul.
He already accepted his death before he appeared inside his consciousness.
He already assessed his current situation and discovered his main soul was still alive, which he was currently in, as he did not arrive in hell.
If he got rid of Lu Zheng’s soul and controlled it with his own, it would mean he would start a new life.
But he was already tired of living!
He already accepted death long ago, and seeing him not in hell, he was delighted.
However, to live another life, starting from the bottom, to which he was also given a body with a very despairing situation, was another level of hell.
Hence, he was not a bit interested in controlling the body of Lu Zheng to live in this unknown world.
At the very least, he would accompany Lu Zheng and search for a way to live.
Or to die again.
For now, he could not die, as he did not have the ability to do so.
What he could only do was amuse himself with Lu Zheng’s situation.
He was not joking with him either when he said he could bestow him the power to exact revenge on the man, who has green eyes inside.
He assessed the green-eyed man's strength, and compared to the two of them, Lu Zheng did not possess the strength to defeat him.
He was powerful.
He assumed the green-eyed man should be at the peak of Lu Zheng’s realm.
Furthermore, the green-eyed man's understanding of what he called martial arts was exceptional.
He spared no effort in dodging Lu Zheng’s attack, and the way he also responded was him utilizing every part of his body in a very efficient way.
Of course, he could discern flaws, especially when he jumped in mid-air, as the green-eyed man’s body position was open.
If only Lu Zheng had seen it and responded with a counter-attack, he would have injured the green-eyed man severely.
Unfortunately, the green-eyed man’s attack was fast.
Furthermore, Lu Zheng’s body was fighting out of instinct, not the usual Lu Zheng’s way of fighting.
If Lu Zheng was rational, he would have been able to put up a fight, even though he lacked the physical ability to fight against the green-eyed man.
While the mysterious voice was evaluating Lu Zheng and the green-eyed man, Lu Zheng finally responded to his offer.
“I want it. Please bestow me with the power.”
The mysterious voice quietened, but his facial expression remained a mystery because it was shrouded by darkness.
Suddenly, his yellow teeth appeared, revealing a grin on his face.
He said, “You see that other corpse? You just have to stab your nails on it.”
When Lu Zheng heard the condition, he was about to feel relieved when the mysterious voice appeared not to be interested in taking his soul when he completely realized the condition.
‘Does that mean I will experience the same torment again?’
