Ethan is an ordinary college student, majoring in history and leading a quiet, unremarkable life. One day, while walking home from class, he is suddenly engulfed by a mysterious portal and transported to Aetheria, a sprawling fantasy world of magic, monsters, and legendary heroes.
Upon arrival, he discovers he has been summoned as a “hero” to aid the realm against an encroaching darkness. However, his magical aptitude is abysmally low, and he fails every basic test and training exercise. The other heroes and villagers quickly label him “the weakest hero”, mocking him as a liability.
