Chapter 05

Damon's - [P.O.V]

The cab driver stopped in front of the hospital. I paid him before rushing through the entrance stairs of the hospital.

The door automatically opened as I saw the doctor talking to someone before spotting me from the side.

"Please follow me." He said, leading me into a room where I was asked to sit down as some nurses came holding my arm.

"We are going to first test your blood so we can know if it's a perfect match for baby Esther, okay?" The nurse said as they slowly started their preparations and soon had taken my blood as well.

"So do you want to know if your blood group matches with her or should we do a wilder test." The doctor asked me.

"Do what's best!" I responded to him.

"Wilder test it is." He replies.

After some good minutes he comes back into the room where I sat down.

"Mr Damon, we are done with the blood test and it is rather strange as the results prove that you don't have a blood group that matches with Esther nor are you the biological father of the child." He said to me and my heart broke in shock.

"What? That's impossible!" I said back to him as I collected the results from him.

"Why are there so many papers?" I asked.

"We couldn't believe it too so we ran the test multiple times to be really sure it wasn't a machine default but it turns out that the results are hundred percent true, so how about her mother?" The doctor asked me in trembling.

"Ahh!" I screamed as I hit the table closer to me as I cried bitterly.

"How can I not be a father?"

"Why will my wife lie?"

"Why?" I said crying out.

I pulled out my phone as I immediately called Lilian, hoping she'd pick and she did.

"Well Lilian, I think you feel, you did well to lie about Esther being my child but there's more, she's dying and I don't still want that, she needs blood to survive, you need to please help Lilian." I said in tears.

"I want to see my daughter." I said as I walked speedily to the room where she was as I held her hand crying bitterly.

I couldn't hold the pains rushing through my chest, I really loved her like mine.

And I didn't want anything bad to happen to her either, she was my everything.

The room door opened and I looked to see lilian and Mr. Charles coming in.

"Lilian..." I said full of pain towards her.

"The blood matches." The doctor says bringing in a new sample.

"Who does it belong to?" I asked.

"Mr Charles." The doctor replies to me.

"Save Esther then... Please." I begged as I walked out of the room watching little Esther begin to struggle for life.

She started jerking like she was struggling to breathe again all of a sudden and it got me so scared to lose her for anything.

"Esther..." I cried as I watched her struggle till she stopped and the heart metre machine by Esther's side stopped.

"Ahhh!" I cried more.

I was breaking with heartbreak and the reality that I had lost my daughter.

"It can't be true, nurse, please tell me she's okay?" I asked as I rushed back into the room carrying her in my arms as I cried bitterly trying to revive her.

She was getting cold and colder.

I knew she was gone.

"I love you so much Esther, I am so sorry I wasn't wise to know who you needed or what I was supposed to have been for you, I am sorry your mum was so selfish to ignore your needs." I cried into her neck.

I looked up to see Lilian and Charles.

"This is what you both caused, she's dead, take her, She's your daughter now... The Esther I knew was always alive and happy before you came in Charles, take her!" I cried, dropping Esther over his arms as I walked out of the room.

My phone rings and I pick up discovering that it was the housekeeper.

"I heard the sad news, my condolences for the deceased, a car is parked outside for you, the driver will take you to a new house I bought for you, it has everything you need to get back on your feet." He spoke to me and I couldn't say much to him.

"Can you come over there too? I need someone to talk to, nothing feels okay for me right now, I wished things were different but they had to be so backstabbing and wicked." I said to him.

"Young master Damon, sometimes things are not always in our favour or how we wished they could be, you need to heal over it, they are something's that even money cannot heal." He says to me.

"I will be on my way there so we can see and talk more about it so you can feel even better at least." He replies to me.

"Thank you housekeeper." I said to him as I cut the call.

As soon as I reached outside I could understand how much I had been betrayed to the core as nothing seemed to be making sense anymore.

So Lilian's child was never mine?

She lied to me for all these years when the father was Charles all these while.

How could she be this wicked?

So this was the reason why she was disrespectful to me, and acted how she wanted and gave Charles rights to have talks in our family matters.

She did all that because she loved me at that time? Or was it because she thought I was rich at that time cause I used to live a quiet spoilt life before I disconnected myself from my father's wealth.

Sad if she loved me all because of money, and too bad she lost it all over again.

I walked down to the car parked below as the guard standing by it signalled for me to get in, I looked at his suite to see my father's company logo over it and that made me trust entering the SUV tinted luxury car.

I was ready to become who I was meant to be, the cold hearted trillionaire CEO.
