Chapter nine: Cruising 'till we get there
Another day, another cruise. Fortunately for us and the Flash warriors, the other ships were parked beside the forest, still secured and ready to use- also safe from the three-headed dragon's flames. They escorted the villagers to their ships before departing to Sonata village. A decent-looking village yet a crowded one if you ask me for further details.   It was a shame that we left Quarté. None of us would be able to live from the west, east, or even in the south because the villages were very occupied. Sadly though, even Snowfall village was the only village known in the north. That's what I know at least. "Are we there yet?" I asked Claes, leaning on the railing next to him while he took charge of the steering wheel.    "No," he replied with a flat tone.   "What about now?"   "No."   "Now?"

Chapter ten: It starts here
Since I've accepted my new life as a recruit of the enchanted warriors, I had to make the most of it. It came to me so fast and suddenly I had magical abilities- and not what I thought I would have. So as the commander said, they and I will figure out my magic by training. I felt very alienated. With my family and Sam elsewhere, I didn't know what to do first. It was my first time walking in my shoes in the next part of my life.   In my closet on the left corner of the wall was where my attires were kept. A red uniform that had a Flash Warrior symbol on the front pocket with black pants and shoes. It's quite comfy as I wore it, especially the soft cushion of the shoes. The texture of the uniform wasn't itchy at all, yet too smooth to the touch. Well, here I am, the first day of school, I told myself. As I prepared myself for the class, a knock came from the door. I opened it as I came closer to reveal a girl with honey-colored hair and

Chapter eleven: True power
We trained for the whole day and I thought we would never stop. It made me feel energized, despite exhaustion. The four of us got to know each other better and better as each training progressed. Victor always wanted to be the guy who does impossible things (Which he couldn't yet) because of his abilities, but he has so much to learn and he has yet to discover his limitations. Lenard tends to have every single crush on every single girl, but every single moment, he moves on to another girl. Weird. I'm not judging, but I guess Lenard is that type of person who always looks for a person's appearance one by one. Chloriette always wanted music ever since she's heard of it, but her family won't let her play (It's quite unusual for them to hate music, especially if the issue involved their daughter). She ran away and got kidnapped by a nasty witch and a hideous wendigo and met these two boys.   They knew me as a troublemaker because like I always sai

Chapter twelve: Bad news
"Victor, what in the textbooks are you doing?" Lenard asked.   "What? I'm moving the pawn," replied Victor as he pointed at a chess piece, which wasn't a pawn.   "No Victor, you're doing it wrong. No wonder why we always restart the game."   "Come on, I wanna learn how to play chess," Victor whined.   Lenard frowned out of frustration. "I know, I know, but you're not remembering what I tell you."   "About what?" Victor asked leaving Lenard to scoff at the response.   "Ugh, never mind. I'll teach you a couple of techniques when you finally learned the basics, but first, let's eat." With a single snap, the chessboard and pieces vanished with purple smoke before being replaced by food that had magically appeared.    "Hey, guys." Chlorie

Chapter thirteen: Hope for the best
Thanks to the Devastrigon, that kept destroying innocent, countless lives and places, our training became much harder. Thanks a lot! Even the other rookies in the academy had to face the same obstacle as we were.   I checked the schedule on the paper that Chloriette gave me. Okay, today is Tuesday so we have to learn how to use a variety of weapons. Ha, I can handle this, I thought to myself. I folded the schedule and put it inside my uniform. The unbelievable part of this day was I had so many red uniforms.   "Hey," Chloriette called unexpectedly.   "Oh, hey." I looked above her shoulder. Two white-uniformed students were heading to the cafeteria. "Friends of yours?"   "Just my acquaintances. I just met them after our training yesterday."   "Wow, new friends. Have you heard about-"

Chapter fourteen: The prophecy
I kept remembering what Claes told us during training. "When it comes to using weapons, you need to be quick, strong, and smart enough to take an enemy down. However, you must know and remember every advantage you can use with your weapon of choice and its limits.   Using a weapon is just like using a wand. Like a wizard, it can interact and manipulate your magic with ease, but take note of this: 'The weapon's interaction depends on your magic. Learn to find a way to attack, like the river endlessly going forward and push through until it pierces to the end. By using every weapon, learn and use every tactic and maneuver on how to use it, that is the true warrior way.'" Claes demonstrated a proper way on how to swing a sword. Thankfully, I know how to handle these weapons, especially the ones that are used for hunting. Thanks for the training, dad.   Chloriette got very used to light weapons such as daggers. In

Chapter fifteen: A night with her
For many days, the academy's high-ranking warriors had been assigned to travel other lands of the Enchanted world to prepare for another sudden attack of the Devastrigon. Many weeks later, we got a lot of improvement in our training. Too many sweats and breaths were required for our it. But on the bright side, I had a great sleep somehow.   During our five-week training, we worked hard to enhance ourselves. Thanks to our fast-learning ability, we made progress in every step accordingly. I sure hope we didn't somehow make mistakes.   Monday: We've been taught instant blocking and counterattacks. The hardest part? When we were taught about six ancient Flash warrior martial arts: Kuái-Gónji- Block and attack, Shíyóng-mófa- Using your magic energy to strengthen or enhance yourself, Yidóng- Learning parkour, gymnastic martial arts, and enhanced reflexes, Pankration- Wrestling techniques and hand-to-hand combat (Vic

Chapter sixteen: Dragonslayer
My peaceful slumber was interrupted by Sean as he was shaking my shoulder. "Xabe, you have to wake up." He urged.   "Why does everyone keep on disturbing me?" I groaned. My energy had finally run out from many weeks of training. I just wanted more rest.   "You need to wake up, sleeping ugly. The commander is here and he wants to see you." Because of the word commander, I got up so quickly that I jumped to my closet.   "Wow, Xabe, look at you! Someone is improving!" Sean commented with a grin.   "Thanks, I trained." As Sean stood up from my bed, I once again saw him wearing his indigo glasses. Unlikely, he sported a violet robe with a blue rose on his left chest. His curly hair was up in a ponytail on the back of his neck.   "Come on, now. You have to dress yourself up. And why is your pajama pink?" Sean poi

Chapter seventeen: It's back
"Prepare your weapons and gather all the men, now!" Commander barked to the warriors near the gate of the academy. "I hate that dragon! It keeps coming back!"   "You can say that again," I said. Flash warriors from the rooftops and balconies blew their big horns for preparation. Claes entered the gate together with Victor, Lenard, and Chloriette. "Commander." Claes as he and the team came to us. With a greeting and despite what was going on, Victor smiled and waved his hand at me.   "Gather your groups to Craully in Sonata village. If that bloody, ugly, mother of evil reaches that place, people in there will be in danger as well." Commander Grayson ordered the captain- his brother. Claes didn't question it. As we passed each other, Chloriette's eyes shown confusion, scared, worried, and concern. Lenard's expression was scared despite many weeks of training. As for Victor, he waved "see you later" at me. Sean a

Chapter eighteen: Open the box
In the aftermath, I was granted permission from Commander Grayson to fly me off to Sonata village. Good thing my pants weren't completely burned, just the half of my lower legs. I still couldn't get over what had happened to Iris valley. It looked as if a meteor crash-landed, burning the green grass and pushed the trees away. But as long as the villagers were safe and have enough supplies, they're good. Not this time you three-headed devil.   We landed at the entrance of the village before I hop out. "Thanks." I waved them goodbye as I entered. Commander Grayson nodded and took off with Eclypto back to the sky. Sonata village was safe and secured. I didn't even care if I'm dirty or not. We didn't have many cleaning supplies anyway. The Flash warriors and villagers looked at me as I walked across the street. Must've been my half-burned pants. The village looked like Snowfall, but without snow and a bit narrower. I guessed that some Flash warrior
