Ch 03.3
“Eh!!? You don’t remember anything!!” Lilia’s reaction when I told her about my lost memory was… surprise to say the least. Her eyes went wide as she covered her open mouth with both her hands. “Well, there are things that I remember but…” scratching the back of my head I couldn’t help but look down. “Most of it isn’t of much help.” “You don’t remember your name?” She asked “No.” “And where you are from?” “Not a clue.” “Any people you were close to? Your family or a friend or…” “No one comes to mind.” “What do you remember then?” “hmm…” I looked up to the sky and thought about it for a moment. “I remember that it was a really bad day… and that I almost got killed… oh, and I can recognize my face too.”

“Ugh…I don’t know why I’m asking now but… what the hell happened here?”“Who knows.” Lilia said as she bravely walked across the room. “There are no signs of struggle. Maybe they starved to death?”“Yeah, that I know. But… why?”Eight days have passed since I woke up. We were back inside the ruins, in the room where we first met to be exact. It’s a good place to be in if you are a fan of skeletons. Lilia has been putting off the exploration for a while to watch over me but after much effort and a lot of pain I managed to convince her to go together. The room didn't change much. Of course it didn't. Broken pods were lined up on one side, most of them broken. Shattered glass littered the floor, together with a bunch of tubes and cables that led to who knows where. Thin roots forced their way in from the ceiling while dark green moss grew on the walls. The mos

Sector twenty one, planet Gorgola, the lab ruins.“Um… uh… are you alright?“Yeah, I don’t think so…”We had to cut the ruin exploration short after arriving to the next floor. That was the part where things got really ugly. Not that long ago I was looking at eight dead, fleshless sets of bones and all I thought was 'man those graphics look sick'.It wasn't the normal reaction a sane human being would have when confronted by real life skeletons, but as I thought about it I realized that I have seen and heard a lot of not so normal things in succession for the past few days. My perception of reality isn’t in the best of conditions. As we walked through the woods Lilia quickened her pace to catch up with me.“I understand how you feel, bu

Born from earth and to earth shall return.Three days had passed since we found that cursed room. Lilia and I spent that time digging graves for the three hundred nameless children and the eight adults.I didn’t feel morally obligated to bury each one of them separately yet I did it anyway. I was the lucky one to have survived, and I just hated the idea of treating toddlers as a failed experiment. Some of them might even be my own clones or offspring, that was one of the speculations I didn’t want to think about.A graveyard had formed in such a short time. I stood there looking at the stones I placed to mark each of them. I think I understad why cloning was considered an unethical thing to do.“Did I tell you about it?” As I spoke my voice felt a bit dry, but I wasn’t about to shed any tears. “The last thing I remember before meeting you was me getting

At the end of the hallway we found another intersection. The plates that seem to show directions had faded long ago and without much to base our decision on we picked the right again. We arrived at a large gate that was left half open, after walking beyond it we arrived at another room. This one had boxes, many of them stacked on top of each other, and on each of the four walls are…“… Are those… weapons?” I said as I observed what I could only call a morbidly designed sword. Is this the armory or something?Lilia went and opened one of the boxes.“There are more inside…”Double edged swords, spears, lances, katanas, great swords, knives, hammers, scythes, axes, shields. They all had a little scienc

Sector twenty one, the laboratory ruins, LiliaWhat happened in this laboratory can’t be described easily. When I first found this person, original human sample 007, I realized something that disregarded all laws and morals happened in that institution.Experiments on the genetics of any sentient species is strictly prohibited by the interplanetary law, so unless it’s to find a cure for an illness that might cause extinction every race that is part of the Union is strictly prohibited from tempering with genetics. The law was signed by the majority of the members thousands of years ago as a result of the will of each race to preserve the purity of its blood, stop mutations from happening and to stop the manufacturing of biological weaponry. As a result of that exact law a number of legislations of the same purpose appeared on ea

Chapter 04: How things were back then. How things are right now.
Sector twenty one, planet Gorgola, the laboratory ruins, Lilia. We finished investigating the burned room. Although I say investigate, all we did was stand there and look at the scorched walls and the ash on the ground. It looked like it has been a while since it happened. We couldn’t confirm whether whoever, or whatever caused the hole downstairs came up here, but after a while O.H.S 007 started explaining a hypothesis he came up with. “Looking back at what little we know, I’m eighty percent sure the guy missing from the original human samples is the one responsible for this.” He said “He burned all the scientists watching the experiment that’s being conducted on him then fled by creating that hole. Since there are no weapons capable of this level of destruction among those we found in the arsenal I have a feeling that the e

“What’s wrong?” I asked, taking a step back as well.   “This thing is still functional!!” Seven shouted.   A second later a huge metallic hand struck the place he was standing in. If he hadn’t been fast enough in dodging it he would have been laying flat in the crater that formed there.   The mechanic doll was rather slow, probably because of the lack of maintenance, but the force which it struck the floor with shouldn’t be taken lightly. A direct hit could cause severe damage. For humans, at least.   It’s dangerous, but nothing I can’t handle.   “Hey! Would you like me to take care of it? Or do you want to fight it on your own?” This might be a good chance to see what he’s capable of.   From what he said before, Seven

Sector twenty one, planet Gorgola, Lilia’s space craft. The night had fallen by the time we got back to the camp, but we had no power to look up and see the enchanting sight of the aurora lights.Lilia was stressed out from what happened earlier, and who would blame her. She thought the only other person on this whole godforsaken planet was going to die and that she would be left all alone once again. Her eyes were full of tears as she smacked me with the flat part of her spear, saying “DON’T SCARE ME LIKE THAT!!!!” with an angry tone.Seeing the extraordinarily beautiful Lilia act in such a cute -although a bit violent- way made my heart skip a beat. Having any girl that would cry for you is a blessing, especially if she is as cute as Lilia.I smiled internally as I remember her face at that time: her teary eyes, her blushi

When I came out of the shower I noticed that Lilia had prepared another bed just like mine on the opposite side of the room. Both seem to be a built-in feature as you can put them away simply by pressing them into the wall once you’re done. The blankets and pillows were different though. It seems Lilia intends on sleeping in her bed instead of the front seat this time. The shirt and shorts were probably her pajamas. I took that as a sign of her trust in me growing. Of course I’m still far from gaining any affection points, but I’m still happy I’m making a little progress. Later that night my deep sleep was cut short. There was no reason for it but even though my eyes felt heavy I couldn’t go back to the dreamland. The night was still young and the aurora lights Read more
