Oh, It’s What You Do To Me
Emptiness was never a blank void without form to me.  I always saw emptiness as a hole in my heart that seemed to be un-fill-able or just missing something that needed to be there in order to feel whole.  I had a chance to see both.             A black smoke was covering my vision and distorting my orientation to the ground.  My feet were not on anything, it felt like direction depravation no knowing which way was up.  Air was all around me, yet I wasn’t falling.             Waving my hand to get rid of the smoke, it moved enough to see that darkness surrounded me.  Suddenly, my knees touched what felt like sand.  A white light shown above me and I looked up to see Baal floating down and landing on the black sand I was kneeling in.

How to Become a Vox
Reality television shows have birthdays on because they can be entertaining.  Twenty-One is the age you are truly considered an adult in the United States.  The age when you can legally drink and the age when most people have graduated from college, but my 21st birthday was something utterly different.             Waking up to a flashlight being shined in your eyes is a terrible way to avoid headaches.  Some woman was shining a light in one eye and a man shining one in the other.  McCoy was holding smelling salts in his hand in front of me under my nose.             Swatting his hands away, “That’s enough!” swatting away everyone with lights.  “Can you please get the fuck out of my face!”  my hand was up holding my head which was throbbing with pain.&nb

Float Like a Butterfly and Sting Like a (Insert Noun)
Watching boxing or mixed martial arts was always fun.  I am not sure if I ever could get in the ring and try to fight with someone in that way.  It always seemed too brutal and I would have been afraid that with all the adrenaline and emotion I would not be able to stop.             Sitting Indian style in my little room with my keepers behind the wall sized mirrors watching me, I felt at ease knowing the time was close for me to leave this place.  A plate of food was sitting on the desk next to the bed.  Not a single bite had been touched.  Something was coming and I could feel it near.  Food would only upset my stomach more.              Looking around for any sign, my focus was on the mirror in front of me.  It would be about a month before leaving th

I’m Positive, Maybe
At one time I dated this girl that use to make fun of me whenever I said I was positive about anything.  She used to say it was not good to be positive because something could always change.  I found out that she was right.             Breathing frantically and with sweat pouring down my face, nothing around me seemed familiar.  Splitting myself constantly, it was becoming more difficult to figure out which me was where.  Confusion was setting into my unconscious mind at night when while sleeping.  Between that and all the half real dreams in strange places, it seemed like I was never in the same place twice.              Baal had been in my dream this time, or nightmare, trying to come through the glass as he had done just a few hours before.  Not wearing a

Time Is On My Side, Yes It Is
Watching an episode of ‘The Twilight Zone’ when I was in college, I wondered about time.  Time was a strange thing we knew almost nothing about.              Standing in the hallway without any sound or light, a pin dot sized light come from the end of the hallway.  Heading toward the light I passed the interrogation room and then the board room.  With the light still growing in size my body kept heading toward it.             Stopped and leaning against the wall, there was no recollection of the building ever being that long.  Focusing on the lights being on, light blared into the hallway with enough force to blind me for a moment.             I thought I was looking down the hallway, but there was nothing

Knowing is Half the Battle
Expectations of life in the mind of every child leave anything to the imagination to become reality.  When you are older those expectations change and reality of life starts to beat down imagination.  In the end those who can keep more of their imagination are the ones that end up as the minority and seem odd to the rest of the world.             Sitting down next to Delilah, the server poured wine for the table.  Around the room there were some nervous faces and one that was stone cold as ever.              “So, General, I am sure you want to begin your questions,” picking up my glass.  “Almost a month ago I did say I would tell you what you wanted to know over the last ten years.  Now is your opportunity, but remember something,” taking a sip of wine, “there are

Epilogue
Life is a crazy and bizarre thing to behold and even more strange to actually live out.  My own life has been more interesting than most.  Time, and a lot of it, has been spent on trying to understand why this all happened to me.  Finally, I realized there was no point in asking that question.  The purpose of me having these abilities is much more important and even if I did find out why I was like this, I could not go back and change it.             Matt and Bob are running all the business, now.  To be honest, I would shut them all down if it was not for the fact they employed a large number of people and I do not want to make them all jobless.              The family is all looking over their shoulders and either seeing the government following them aroun
