The Royal Party
She could hear the cheers from the men inside the large hall and that made her sigh. Yet again, another cheer erupted and as the voices seemed to shake the foundations of the castle itself, Miranda shuddered. Why could they take so much joy and privilege in doing unnecessary Things? She knew she was not perfect, however, she understood the responsibility that came with being a royal. Most of the time, a royal would have to forfeit their happiness for the sake of the people. That was a fact that, sadly, her older brother did not understand."Argh!" She exclaimed as the maid pulled the ropes behind her dress tighter than she'd expected. For the sake of the ridiculous party, she was meant to wear the ridiculous dress as well. The maid, however, did not appear to read her mind. She just kept on with her business."Oh!"Another pull. However, at that time, the maid stopped and looked at her."Did I do something wrong, princess?" She asked politely. She was about Sixteen or seventeen

The Royal Party(2)
As usual and as expected, everyone's eyes fell on her. She took care and calculated steps as she walked into the Hall. The entire hall was silent for a moment as all got transfixed by her beauty. She could feel the eyes of some of the men undressing her already, some of the women looked at her with admiration but others, like her dear cousin Bianca, were probably killing her over and over in their heads. She did not care about that. Her eyes roamed the hall and she could see her older brother, Kevin who was standing with a woman and smiling at her. Then, she noticed a peering eye from the sides and turned to see her eldest brother Richmond, gazing at her with spite. He was the heir to the throne as tradition demanded for he was the oldest and he was male. But he felt strongly intimidated by her. Well, how could he not, when she managed to steal his party for herself? As it was customary, Miranda proceeded to pay her respects to her father who looked delighted to see her, but fr

The help
"Hello Miranda" Alastair said as he walked closer, watching her as she tightened her grip on the sword. She had not expected to see him inside her room, but there they were. So when she unsheathed her sword and pointed it at him, he took a step back, receding from the anger that was written all over her face."Bastard!" She cursed at him."I know how you feel at this moment..." He hadn't finished the statement when she swung her sword in an attempt to wound him. He quickly jerked back, dodging the strike before it could do any damage. "Miranda, just listen to me!" He yelled but she did not stop. She came right at him again, distracting him with her sword before she kicked him in the stomach. He groaned but he did not hit her. He was not even fighting."Miranda..." Another charge escaped her lips and she pointed the sword at him, in an attempt to cut him down. He caught the sword and held on to it even as it made him bleed."Why are you not fighting? I want you to fight. Fight!" She

The attack on a lonely ship
They carefully left the room, observing the passing maids go out of their way before they headed down the corridor. They were fast and cautious, but then, Miranda saw some guards coming."Hide!" She whispered and Alastair hid with Cara. Miranda pulled off her hood as the guards walked past her, paying their respects as they did. Then, she turned around to gesture to them to come outside but just before they did, Miranda felt another presence."Where are you going in a cloak?" Her brother, Richmond suddenly said to her. She turned around, looking him in the eye. He was angry. He always looked that way towards her."How is that any concern of yours? She asked him and he walked even closer, the smell of alcohol and women following him like a second companion."You are my sister. It is my duty to protect you." He said and she laughed."More like monitor me. You have never looked at me like your sister Richmond. You have always felt anger towards me whenever you look at me or am I lying?""

The spear of Magic
Alastair crunched and watched as the mages swum towards the ship, hands on the deck as he listened to the vibrations within the large vessel.None of them had infiltrated the ship yet, and that was a good thing. He could see the panic on the Captain's face and he could only wonder what was going on in the man's mind. But yet, he could not help but wonder how the mages found them so quickly. Was that Blaize's doing? It couldn't be. He had always cleaned his tracks after using magic and there was no way Blaize or any other mage could track him, atleast, not yet. Then those Mages were not from Blaize, they were under someone else's authority. One of the mages grabbed the ship and began to climb. Alastair sent a wave of energy to surround the ship, knocking the mage badk into the river with a cry. Others began to climb as well but the same wave was sent to clear them off. They fell into the river, screaming when the wave hit them. The wave was not kind, and Alastair did it that way fo

The Captain
Alastair closed his eyes and opened his ears. He let them spread far and wide, sensing the ripples that pulled on the river, the tails of the fishes as they swam towards their foods, then to the river bank where the mages he had sent out of the river were gasping and regaining their strength. One of them suddenly carried a curious look, like he was hearing something, and then, the Mage looked at him and Alastair's eyes opened. He had been right. The mages were from the palace. He needed to warm Miranda but he was in no position to do so at that state. Invading someone's dream took a lot of energy if the mage had no natural affinity for Dreamscaping. He did not have that affinity, he did not have any natural affinity to be precise. He just learned every and any form of magic. The rest of the night proceeded that way but when morning came, they were already at Rheina's port. He'd dosed off for a moment and woke up when the captain yelled at his crew to "hurry the fuck up". Cara st

The talk of the past
The man walked closer to Alastair, and as he approached, he could sense something eerie about him. Alastair took a step forward toward the man, an attempt to match his energy. Then he raised his head and looked him in the eye. He smiled as Alastair did. What was he hiding? What secret lay beneath that deceptive smile of his? And why the hell was he even smiling at them in the first place? He was not a mage, that much Alastair could tell, and he was not a sorcerer either. So what was he exactly?"Good morning folks. Seems like you two are lost. Is there anything you need my help with?" The man asked Alastair and smiled again."We are fine, thanks." He slowly replied. The man arched his brow and did not seem to believe him. But that was his problem. He then looked at the bartender who seemed to jerk back in fear. Whoever he was, he definitely scared the shit out of her."Were they talking to you, love?" He asked her but she shook her head negatively. The air was getting tense alr

The malicious wraith
The moment they stepped out of the alley, Alastair turned around and shot a telekinetic blast at the men which suspended them in the air before they crashed to the ground. The move surprised Cara for she jumped to the side. Apparently, she had not noticed the men following them. How could she? She was just a little girl without any training. The men tried to stand but their bodies were too weak to comply. Alastair moved towards them but at that moment, he felt a knife flying his way. He quickly stopped and dodged the knife and ducked as another knife hurled at him. Then two men stepped out of a corner, holding swords with which they attacked him. He punched the ground and a wave of energy swept them all off their feet. They all fell, groaning in pain as their bones dislocated. But then, the knives came again. The one who was throwing the knives was a short man with incredible acrobatic skills. He threw the knives with much precision and accuracy that one of them managed to hit

The vision
"Alastair!"His eyes suddenly opened when he heard someone call his name. The voice sounded like thunder and it roared through his entire body. As the smell of rancidity hit him, he realized that he might have known who it was that called him. There he was, standing on a rock, beneath which lava flowed like a stream. The lava was extensive and it almost surrounded the rock on which he stood. The rancid smell continued to hit his nose but he did not know where it was coming from. Something was definitely off."Alastair!"He heard the voice again. It sounded like Jaghryx, but at the same time, it sounded like Asmodeus. He took a look around. It was obvious that he was in some vision like the one Asmodeus had pulled him in before. He just needed to find him and find a way to wake up. He knew he was having it hot in the real world and the last thing he needed was Asmodeus' troubles."Come to me...."Came a faint whisper. The whisper came again and he saw the lava on the ground drying up.

The pulsating mass of energy
"Woah! Someone had a nightmare."The captain teased as Alastair breathed heavily like the air would get sucked away from him if he even relents. He moved his arms slowly, the magical chair still grasping him in place. The captain walked closer to him and crunched, gazing into his eyes before she placed her hand on his shoulder and gave it a light squeeze."What did you see, Alastair? What visions did those pretty eyes of yours experience?" She asked, still squeezing his shoulder. He shrugged, causing her to remove her hands from his shoulder."If you are really desperate for a vision, why don't you unbind me from this chair? I will give you all the visions you could ever possibly think of." Alastair said to her. She thought for a second, walked towards Alastair, and slowly roamed her hand through the straps that were holding him in place. Was she truly going to do it? Alastair wondered. She kept on touching the straps, but then, she burst out into laughter."And did you think I woul
