Chapter 21
Hannah walked into her room, exhausted after a stressful day outside of her house. She has spent her day at the office and, secondly, spent the rest of the day looking for the mysterious man who helped her make the biggest decision ever, but all to no avail. She sighed softly as she went into the bathroom to have a bath, after which she lay on her bed, looking through her schedule for the next day. Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. She raised her head up. “Come in.” She said.Just as the door creaked open, her stepmother stepped into Claire’s room. Expression changed, she couldn’t tell why the elderly woman was in her room but she knew it was for no good reason.“What do you want?” She asked.Claire smiled, before replying flatly. “Is that how to welcome me into your room?” She said with her voice barely above a whisper.“You should just go straight to the point,” Hannah scoffed; the presence of her stepmother was irritating her. Claire sighed softly. “I didn’t come here to
Chapter 22
For a moment, Austin debated if he should listen or walk away from her. There was no need to have a conversation with her after she had gotten what she wanted. But something in her eyes made him stop. “What do you want?” He said calmly. She took a breath, “I didn’t mean for this to happen or end this way.” Austin arched a brow, “Didn’t you.” She flinched, “I mean, I know things got messy. But I just wanted us to talk, one last time.” Austin crossed his arm, as he stared at her. He knew she was pushed by her mother and her love for Gerald. He wouldn’t blame her for making the decision. “Funny, you had months to talk to me but you never wanted to. I don’t know what you think about me.” “I am sorry for how things happened,” Monica said, ignoring the jab. Monica couldn’t seem to fathom how her father would want her to get married to Austin when he had nothing in his name. But she never gave him a chance to know who he was or where he was from. Austin narrowed his gaze, “You a

Austin averted his gaze at the couple walking towards himShe was stunning, tall, chocolate-skinned with striking eyes, a cascade of dark curls spilling over her shoulders with flawless makeup and a designer bag, and the man wore a well-fitted suit, which showed he was from a wealthy background.Austin knew the woman, she was Lauren, his college crush. Back then, in college, Austin had a crush on her. She was among the beauty queens in college, but she turned him down because she wanted something more; she was known for flirting and always hooking up with guys. Many of the guys were wealthy, and they always foot her bills after she had done her part of their bargains.“I almost didn’t recognise you, Austin.” She said, with her lips curled into a mocking tone. “You look broke; I didn’t know the best student in our faculty would ever be seen putting on cheat clothes. That’s a shame,”Austin tilted his head slightly, with an unpredictable expression. “What were you expecting?” He asked.

“The child in your womb does it carry Lawson’s bloodline,” he said calmly.“What are you talking about?” Lauren asked, Michael glanced at his wife for a moment.“Young man, I wouldn’t tolerate this from you. You don’t have a right to talk to my wife like that.” He said.Just then, Austin’s phone buzzed. A message notification popped on his screen. He smiled, knowing he had gotten what he requested from Ryan Daniel. He smiled, then raised his head to stare at the couple. “you should both tell each other the truth; there is no need to build a family with lies and deception.” There was a short pause between them, and Austin shrugged. “Since it’s hard to say it out while not allow me to do the talking.” He tapped against his phone screen, with a smirk. “Micheal Lawson, according to my record, you have been confirmed twice by different doctors that you are impotent, but you made them twist the results to hide the shame.”Michael’s face turned crimson; his jaw almost dropped to the groun

Michael’s voice was low but sharp; his face had turned red from the ugly scene. “What did you just say.” He asked.“You hid it from me, but you didn’t ask how I got to find out. David told me, if you hadn’t been impotent I wouldn’t have cheated on you with another man. I wanted a child, a family. You couldn’t give me that.”The word hit him hard like a bullet, Michael felt like she was using it against him. “You are blaming me, for cheating on me and getting pregnant for your lovers and my brother.” He roared furiously. His hand rosed without hesitation, but in a flash of unchecked rage, the sound of the slap echoed through the hallway like thunder.Lauren’s head snapped to the side, and she crumpled like a paper doll. One hand instinctively cradled her belly as she hit the cold tile floor. The nurse who stood at the end of the hallway screamed. The doctor at the other side of the room dropped his clipboard and rushed towards her.Lauren’s writhing on the ground, face pale, lips trem

“You will fast once every three days, nothing but warm water and light soup. You will meditate in silence for one hour at dusk and bathe with salt water. You will also come here twice every week for the next twenty-one days.”Michael swallowed hard, and his mind raced. “I haven’t done this before. Do you think I can do this?”“You can only if you trust me and you believe you can. There is always a first time to everything in life. You have to choose between life and death. You have to fight yourself to still be alive. The journey wouldn’t be an easy one; most days, you will have doubts, but never allow your mind to control you.” Michael’s heart beat fast after hearing those words, he knew he had to do it if he still wanted to be alive. But then, he thought about the long day to get healed, visiting Austin weekly for his treatment. One thing was sure, he will get better if he follows the rules given to him.Austin kept mute as he allowed the man to wallow in his thoughts just like he

David gritted his teeth and warned. “You should stay away from this, it is our family business and not yours.” Austin glared at him coldly, “A family business when you are planning on killing your brother? This is no family business; you should have thought about it before bringing this man over to my place.” He continued, “He is my patient, and whoever messes with him has me to deal with. So, I will suggest you go away and let him be.”“Stop with the lectures, do we look like kids to you? You call this a place, it smells of herbs. If you don’t stay away, I will make sure I don’t only break your ribs, but I will bring you here to the ground.” He yelled angrily.Does he think he could do that? Is he aware of who was standing before him?Austin shook his head, and let out a small laugh. “I am not scared of your threats that’s if you can even step closer to the entrance.” “Austin, I will handle this. Don’t get yourself involved; David is dangerous and can do the unthinkable. You have

He thought about other possibilities, about doubling the money. He wouldn’t want to return in defeat. Michael’s eyes shone in disbelief; Austin wasn’t only a Healer but a professional martial artist. One could tell from his movements that the men couldn’t stand his presence.“Can’t you see that you are already losing? Why not quit and go home? Accept the shame.” Michael said from behind.“That’s not possible,” David scoffed, he shot his brother a cold and menacing glance. “I am not leaving here with both of your heads.”The three men glanced at each other as if they could read their minds. Michael might be right; they should call it a quit; Austin looked immortal, and his skill was unmatched. They couldn’t tell how he did it but from what they had witnessed, they could tell he was a junior Grandmaster. David looked at his men; from their evident gaze, he could tell they were having doubts. He decided to increase his price to fuel their minds.“I will make it ten million dollars, kil

Austin hurriedly replied, “Inside, I have something important I am looking for; since I can’t find it outside, I believe it will be in the VIP section.” The man rolled his eyes at him from head to toe, “Do you have a membership card?” He asked.Austin paused, he didn’t know about the membership to get into the other side of the store. “No, I don’t. How can I get one.” He asked. The man scoffed, “You can’t get any, you will need a referral from someone who already has the card before you can become a member.” Austin frowned, he wasn’t expecting much. He looked around for a moment then back to the bouncer. “Can I talk to the manager, it’s urgent.” “Why, you want to beg your way inside.” He shook his head. “You should go away if you don’t have a membership card. Besides, even if the card is available, you can’t afford it.” He said, staring at Austin in contempt.Austin’s jaw tightened but they maintained a calm demeanour. “Do you have to judge me by my appearance, is that how you beha

After Austin inserted his pin, he handed it back to Derek. Beep! The transaction pulled through, and Derek’s expression shifted. “Successful.” Their jaws dropped in shock. Leaving them stunned. Did he really pay the membership fee? How did it happen? Who is he? Austin took his card and mouthed. “What are you waiting for, get it done.” He commanded. The manager gave him a nod, even though he still had many thoughts running through his mind. He still couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that was boiling inside of him. The Bouncer maintained a downward gaze, he couldn't believe Austin would pull through such heavy transactions. “Sir, I am sorry for what happened earlier. I was only doing my job,” He said politely.Austin kept an indifferent expression; there was no need to exchange words with him. The other customers glanced at Austin, many thoughts ran through their minds. The manager returned with a silver card and handed it to Austin. “Welcome to Aurelia Antique.” He smiled. Aus
