The saleslady's gaze flickered. She had nothing to lose so she slowly nodded. “I'm ready, please, come with me.”As she planned to lead Anthony toward where the cars were located, a car pulled over and came to a halt. Two striking individuals stepped out of the car—a man and woman, their expressions exuding wealth. “We’re here now.” The man said, “Tell me, which of the cars would you like me to get for you?”Hesitation stepped in.Before the woman finally replied, her voice filled with excitement. “I—I would love to have a Mercedes Benz AMG. It has been my dream car.” The saleslady paused, glancing back as she heard that. Her eyes widened with eagerness to meet this couple who had just arrived.Anthony also halted. His expression was dark as he glanced at the saleslady. “Come on, why did you stop? Let's go.” He didn't bother turning back even when the female voice sounded somehow familiar to him. The saleslady didn't even look at him. She totally ignored him, staring at the two pe

Anthony looked at him and let out a sigh. He meant no harm to this fool in his arms.He wasn't even worth his time, but he needed to just show him some pepper. He wanted him to have a taste of it for a short moment.“Ain't doing anything with this simp,” Anthony said, finally releasing Harry and pushing him forward. Harry almost fell down. His breath was fast and shaky. His eyes were already red with anger. Charlotte huffed her hand on her chest, relieved that Harry was safe now. She had feared that this monster would have killed him for her.“Are you ok, Harry?” Charlotte asked, panic evident in her voice. “Did he hurt you really badly?” Harry didn't respond. His breath was just rushing out faster, his face paled.Stepping closer, Anthony said to the security guards who had stern faces. “Was just playing with him, nothing much.” He smirked.Charlotte shook her head quickly, snapping. “That's a lie. He wanted to kill him. He's a liar and a monster. He's just frustrated because I di

“How? How did it happen?” Aria asked, her voice rushing out in panic. Rage plastered on her face. “Where were all the useless security guards to let that bastard lay his filthy and stinky hands on Harry?”Charlotte was quiet, uttering no word as she dipped the piece of cloth into the hot water, pressing it on Harry's arm.“Ah! My arm. It hurts!” Harry shouted, his face red. Aria patted his back gently. “Sorry, my dear. That boy is a carnivorous animal.” “And I'll show him who I am. A lion.” Harry managed to utter, his voice weak.Aria sighed. “You should have shown him that right there before he did this to you.” Charlotte paused and looked at her mother, dumbfounded.Harry also glanced, and a frown appeared on his face.Aria's face flushed slightly, feeling the weight of the intense stares. Had she said something wrong? Maybe!Quickly, she made it up. “Oh, come on. I didn't mean what you both are thinking now. I meant Harry should have got him arrested before he would have attempt

Anthony stepped into the boutique, wearing a small smile on his face. The place revealed an elegant interior of golden accents and shelves filled with designer clothing. It also buzzed with people, exchanging words while some dragged their carts of purchased wear toward the counter. Anthony nodded his head, his smile growing wider as he took in everything. The clothing here was something he couldn't explain. They were all looking stunning and attractive. Unbeknownst to him, a sales clerk watched him from a corner; she shook her head, and a mocking smirk escaped her lips. “What business does a poor man have to do with us here?” She mumbled, before walking up to Anthony. “Welcome, sir. How may we help you?” She asked, her voice slightly polite. Anthony stopped glancing around and looked at her. His expression was filled with quiet confidence and determination. “I want to get some clothes for myself,” he replied, his voice calm but stable. “.....something super,” he added

A ripple of gasp filled the place. Fellow customers’ eyes widened in bewilderment right after the staff member said that.“What did he just say? $50,000? Or didn't I hear him correctly?” One person among them mumbled, barely above a whisper.“You didn't, dear.” Another replied. “It's ridiculous how one can spend just so much on shopping alone.” “He's a young man for that matter. If not mistaken, not up to thirty years of age.”Anthony just let out a soft chuckle within himself. Their words were just funny. Ignoring them, he reached out for his phone in his pocket, ready to make payment. But as he opened his mouth to ask the staff member for the account details, someone made a comment which caused him to pause briefly.“Just wished I would have this much money at least to get something nice for myself one day.” The statement sent a shiver of emotion down to Anthony's spine. He couldn't help but turn around to look at the woman. She wasn't looking that good at all. She was wearing ca
Chapter 16: Anthony Helps
The customers couldn't say anything as they turned around, staring at Anthony as he carried the bags, walking gracefully and confidently. “He was damn telling the truth. He truly transferred the money at first. $50,000.” One finally muttered, puzzled and astonished. “I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, everyone,” Nicola said, genuinely sorry. His voice snapped the customers out of their thoughts. “Next person, please, step forward with your cart.” He added. But the thought of what has just occurred didn't get off some customers’ minds easily. They were still trying to piece everything together. Meanwhile, Anthony stood outside not far away from the boutique, near his scooter with his bags by his side, waiting to see a cab. As his gaze scanned the road, it suddenly fell on someone. It was the woman from the boutique who had made a touching comment back then at the checkout counter, he left his bags and hurried to her side. “Hey, woman, please excuse me,” he called o

Around 7 p.m., the gate was pushed open, allowing a car to pull into a grand, vast, brightly lit compound neatly decorated with flowers. It came to a halt in the lot, carefully parking well, avoiding hitting classic cars that were lined up there. Stepping out was Anthony with a calm but resolute expression. His eyes scanned the parking lot, and he gasped, stunned at the display of the cars.Towering Pathfinders, sleek black Range Rover, and a lot more…but Mercedes Benz AMG caught his attention again. A tiny frown etched on his face and he mumbled, slightly vexed. “Was really gonna own one by now, not until that witch showed up,” his face tightened, “...but not really her fault, though. I would have got it whether she was there or not but the sales clerk misbehaved. She looked down on me. However, I'll get it any time from now.” His gaze darted to somewhere else, a hint of admiration plastered on his face as took in the stunning exterior appearance of the compound. This was Five St

The receptionist's eyes widened at his confident and rigid stance. His stable word was a blow to her doubt. She looked at him, her earlier glare now replaced with puzzlement. Anthony didn't even glance at her. He looked away, the smirk on his lips not diminishing. The receptionist couldn't dare query his word. She swallowed hard and hesitated before saying, “You'll need to make payment first before I can proceed.”“Sure,” Anthony nodded quickly, “the account details, please.” He retrieved his phone. The receptionist pointed a printed paper on the desk and Anthony nodded, carefully inputting the details. When he was finally done, he looked up and said, “It's done,” he said, not fluttering. “Kindly check.”Right away, a notification came on the screen. It was the transaction he made. The receptionist blinked as she glanced down at the screen, visibly shocked. Her mouth opened slightly. “Seen,” she stammered, “a minute and everything will be ready.” She said, glancing down at the syst

Around nine o'clock at night in Saffron and Sage, they stood at the entrance, its glass walls shining under the surrounding lights.Harry took Charlotte's hand into his, his expression a mix of arrogance and satisfaction. “Here, we come, my beautiful angel,” he said to Charlotte.Charlotte's stomach twisted, elated. “Wow, this is beautiful. I've heard so much about this place but because of how expensive things are here, I've tried to avoid it.”Harry laughed, his expression was soft but full of pride. “You're right, but you need not worry. I'm right here with you now—by your side. I'll take care of everything.”Charlotte smirked, her excitement brimming. “Thank you, Harry. Can't wait to have a taste of their meals. Heard it's very delicious,” she paused and then asked, her voice teasing. “But how come you know about this place? You're something else.” Harry chuckled softly. “Come on, Charlotte. Have you forgotten I grew up here; it's my town. My Dad brought me often when I was a chi

As Anthony walked away with the driver by his side, Charlotte laughed at him. “He's such an idiot, feeling high. What makes him think he'll be allowed in Almighty Anthony's Empire? Pathetic annoying thing.”Harry sighed exasperatedly before saying. “But what on earth is he even doing here?”“Spying on us of course,” Aria said, gushing out immediately. “Or probably, they came to look for a dishwashing job. Can't you see the kind of person he's with—birds of the same feather—both pathetic things!”She continued, her ignorance growing. “Believe me, they both will be kicked out because they don't belong anywhere!” She gritted her teeth as she uttered with so much hate. Charlotte nodded. “Mom is right, Harry. What else would someone like him be searching for in such a place like this if not for a job? He's probably in quest of a job to help his miserable life.”Harry frowned, still confused. But suddenly a smirk appeared on his lips, believing their words. “Let’s hurry inside,” he said qu
