Leon thinks that he has died and the white room he is lying in is heaven, but he opens his eyes to see Helen standing by his side. It's a private hospital room. Her eyes are wet, and she is sniffling to keep back the rest of her tears. As soon as she sees that he is awake, she grabs his hands and buries her face in his chest. “I thought I lost you, baby brother. I am so sorry, I should have protected you.” She sobs. Leon is still very much in pain, but he also hates to see his sister crying. He forces a smile to show her that he is fine. “Come on, sis, it wasn't that bad. It's just a little scratch. Give me a few days, and I will be as good as new.” Helen takes her head back to behold the bruises on his face yet again. ”It's not that bad?” Her eyes grow dark. “Your left leg is in a cast, and you are saying that it's not that bad?!” “Helen–” Leon chuckles. “I'm going to find whoever did this to us, and I will make sure that they pay.” Helen swears. “They have no idea how muc

Selina is angry at Damien's sisters. She is coming into their family, and for them to welcome her fully, they were supposed to take her shopping abroad for her wedding dress, but they threw an Amex card at her and told her to do whatever she likes! Who do they think they are to treat her like that? Do they realize that once she gets married to their baby brother, that she will become the single most important woman in that family? “Ignore them, Selina. They are busy making sure that the wedding is going to be the biggest in the city.” Damien pacifies her. “Is that why they couldn't take out one weekend to go wedding dress shopping with me in Paris?!” Damien sighs, almost with an impatient tone. “Go with your mum. Money is not a problem, so you girls can have a nice time.” This calms her down a little bit, she twirls a strand of her hair around her finger. “Alright, baby. Then when do we start to look at houses to pick one for after we are married?” She asks him. “Baby, I tol

Selina and MJ goes to a bar to have a drink, but the air around them is so awkward. MJ is not used to being in bars or clubs. She is not a party kind of person, so she is very conscious of herself and all the eyes on her. She clears her throat to draw the attention of the bartender. “I'll have a bloody Mary, please.” Selina chuckles. “I see why Leon likes you, you are a soft girl.” “You don't know the first thing about me, Selina.” MJ shakes her head. “You're Leon’s new girlfriend, that I know.” Selina says with a twinkle in her eyes. MJ just sighs. The truth is that she just said it because she wanted to bail Leon from an embarrassing situation, and they haven't been able to talk about it fully till now. Plus her father and brothers’ weird behavior towards him and the stress from final year, they don't have the time for this. MJ pushes her drink away from her a bit. “Look, the only reason I agreed to this is because I barely know anything about Leon. If you can't help me, may

The past few days have been very chaotic. Helen's family secret is out to Jonathan Jones, MJ thinks that her friend is an abusive opportunist, and Leon can't get over the fact that he almost died (his leg is healing quickly though). MJ walks into the class with a stiffness around her shoulders. She is clutching her bag a little closer, because of her fresh anxiety. She first sees Damien, sitting down very slanted and he whistles and waves at her cheekily. Then she sees Leon, and her heart skips a couple of beats. His face breaks into a smile. “MJ, you are a bit of an early bird today.” He jokes. He takes his bag away from the chair next to him, so that she can sit with him. She doesn't want to be rude, so she just smiles and accepts his kind gesture. Leon is writing some notes already, even though the bell hasn't gone off, and classes haven't started. “How interesting is salmonella?” He mutters as he writes in his book. “It can be gotten from mayonnaise.” “Did you abuse your

MJ and Leon are in a better mood when they return back to class, and the lecturer walks in. The lecturer for this class is Doctor William himself, and he is wearing his coat. They all know that they are going to be having a practical class today. “Good morning, young Doctors.” He says. “Good morning, Doctor William.” They reply. “I'm happy to see your enthusiastic faces today. We are going to be having a lot of work because each of you will be assigned a patient, who you are to treat and report on for the next few weeks.” He gestures for one of the students to come forward, and soon, a paper with the information of their patients is being passed to the respective doctors. “Read through it carefully. You will be meeting your patients shortly and remember, your graduation grade will depend heavily on this.” Leon scratches his head and strains his neck to look around. It seems that he is the only one that didn't get a paper. MJ excitedly reads through hers. “Mine is a expectant

For the next week, Leon immerse himself into vigorous dedication to make sure that he save Nathan's life. He brings out all the research that he has ever done on cancer, and he gathers even more new information to help the young lad. At the end of five days, he has come up with an organic drug, which he presents to Doctor William for approval. Doctor William examines the drug in the small bottle, and also reads through the list of things used to make it. “This is quite simple and made from natural products. Are you sure that this will work?” Doctor William adjusts his glasses. “Hopefully, sir.” Leon nods. “I will administer it twice a day to Nathan, and I should see the results after three days. The cancer cells will start to die.” “That sounds good to me. If you are actually able to pull this off, you will give your career at least a decade headstart.” Leon doesn't allow this to get into his head. He is not in for the recognition, he wants to save a child's life. He starts th

Because of his dedication to his work, he spends most of his night in the lab, perfecting the drug, (Helen helps with his critical examinations). And during the day, he spends time with Nathan and also gets ready for his exams. As a routine, he gets breakfast for himself and Nathan, so that they can eat together before starting the treatment. Today, he walks into Nathan's door and fear fills his eyes when he sees the visitor that is in the room. Damien is sitting at the edge of the bed, and he has a stuffed elephant toy with him. He is telling Nathan a joke, and the innocent boy is laughing his head off. They both turn to the door when Leon walks in. “Oh, Doctor Leon, you are here!” His parents are also in the room, but they are sitting away from the two and watching with carefree and innocent smiles. “Damien! What are you doing here?” Leon tries to sound as friendly as possible, because he doesn't want Nathan and his parents to suspect a thing. “Oh, Leon, the story of your

Leon's heart shatters like a mirror that has made contact with the ground. MJ's eyes swell with tears, she hugs him tightly because she understands just how this is for him. “I'm sorry, Leon. You did your very best, I want you to know that.” Leon can't even move a finger, he cannot believe what he has heard. “I want to see his body.” He mutters. “Leon, I don't think that you should,” she shakes her head. “It's going to break your heart even more. He is gone, there is no use.” “I'm his doctor, I have to see his body.” Leon insists. He walks towards the room that used to be Nathan's personal room, and he hears the mother sobbing once he enters. The body is covered with a white sheet, and it's as still as eternity itself. His mother's gasps after each sob is heart breaking. Her husband is silently crying, as he tries his best to console his wife. Doctor William is comforting the couple too, his eyes clouded with the grief that weighs on all of them. “Doctor Leon!” His mother

The news about what Leon is doing spread like wildfire in the hospital. “Is he actually crazy enough to think that he can do something like that?!” “Being on the golden list must have gotten into his head too much!” “He is actually acting as if he is God! They should call the police on him immediately! What are the poor parents going through right now?!” Doctor William is helpless, he has to call Helen because he thinks that she is the only one who would be able to talk some sense into Leon. She arrives in thirty minutes, and almost runs into the hospital in heels. “What's happening, you said that it's very urgent.” She asks Doctor William. “It's your protege, Helen! He has gone absolutely bonkers!” Doctor William tells her. “His patient died, and now he thinks that he can bring the boy back!” Helen holds her hand over her mouth. She knows how hard Leon has worked for the cure, and how much he cared for the boy. She is so heartbroken to hear that he has died. “Where is he?

“Oh my God!” Everyone is stricken with fear at first, because they think that they have seen a ghost, but Nathan's mother is the first person to rush and gather her son up in her arms. “Jesus, tell me this is a dream! My baby is alive! My son is alive!” Even the police are shocked. They didn't even get the chance to put the cuffs on Leon's hands. This is way beyond anything any of them has seen or imagined. Leon has brought back a dead boy to life! Helen's eyes almost pop out of her sockets. “Leon, what did you do?” “Everything.” He answers. “I just couldn't let him go so fleetingly.” Helen takes the boy from his mother and together with Doctor William, they run some tests on him and check his vitals. His parents are the only other people allowed in with them. He is sitting on the bed, his shirt has been pulled off and Helen has the stethoscope against the middle of his back. “Why is everyone surprised to see me?” Nathan asks innocently. “Did I die?” “No, son, you just fell
