Level 40: This is The end
David found himself in a dark abyss, his feet softly padding against the floor. He took slow strides, ensuring to observe his environment. He sighed, staring above and seeing nothing. "So this is it, I'm dead." He uttered. He jabbed his fist in the air angrily, yelling, "Not Audrey, not her! She shouldn't be alone!" He continued his rant. Violent, yet in a calm manner. Every fist and jab he threw seemed to hurt his joints more than he hurt nothing. He stopped, breathing heavily. He was worn out. "Oh, no enhancement." He realised. He was back to his reality, just David Hart. A mere mortal with no speciality. One who had failed himself. He stared downwards, concentrating his gaze on his feet. He couldn't make them out, but he had a mental imprint of what his feet were. He felt his side, the part the Void had broken and stabbed through. It was healed. "Son of a bitch." He muttered, taking a cook breath. "You should ease with the cursing, David." A voice sounded. He turned, seeki
Seeking Revenge.
Audrey's eyes flashes open one more time. She was panting heavily, tired and worn out. She looked around her, she was now in an empty realm. The barren land only had monuments of broken and moulded rocks around, etching fear and disturbance in her heart. She propelled forward, still running from whatever chased her. She looked at the floor, the earth morphing from dry, hard rock to sandy dunes, horror mystifying her.Her mind raced back to how she got there. For all she knew, she was fighting the Void and had just began to gain momentum on him before losing her breath, falling unconscious. Then she woke up, finding herself in this dry, empty realm, her instincts heightening as she was chased by a monster. Now here she was, running for her life like she had for a very long time as far as she could tell. She sighted a rocky platform ahead and breezed towards it, ascending it with vigour. She stopped for a few seconds just to catch her breath, darting her gaze behind her to see if her
"He can do no wrong"
Eden sat on an open balcony, tying his brother's bow string appropriately. For the first time since he had lost Eden, he didn't look dejected. He looked ambitious to do something…to leave. It was his intention to, he had done enough for Ladus. Eder was the only reason he wanted to be anywhere, and he felt his brother felt the same way too when he was still alive. He stared at the bow, the vision immersing with his mind. He remembered the first time Eder used a bow and Arrow to kill a beast. It had been a black bear and he did the wrestling with it after his brother struck it at pivotal nerves. He remembered them hacking it into bits and selling a good chunk of the meat to local traders who sought the rarest meat for their meals and other goods. He remembered them sitting on a mountain edge, staring at a forest beneath them. Eder placed a palm on his shoulder, jolting his body upon friction. He looked back at his brother, then returned his gaze to the vast land before them. "Say c
An apology to everyone.
The natural green pasture of the earth glimmered with glee and beauty. The forest, littered with rows of trees, all in random rows and patterns lined around, depicting natural scenery. Sunlight filtered through the canopy of the trees, casting golden glitter on the mossy floor.Songs of birds chirped around the tree tops, all singing beautiful, unique and clear rhythms deemed pleasant to both man and beast. Life glowed and thrived in the forest, butterflies gliding from plant to plant, feeding on the luscious bloom. Even the inhabitants of the forests…the snakes, deers and other animals, beasts or bugs lived as they should. The scene drifts farther into the forest, a deep and darker side which hosted dry patches of clay. Although trees thrived, the gloom and death was imminent, telling a cautionary tale with the setting alone. The carcass of a deer laid on the floor. Its frail body lying still, unmoving. The little ray of sunlight that managed to cut deep into the earth was on it,
Do you ever feel…
Lightning flashed, little roars of thunder erupted. The sky was dark and angry, complementing the mood of its Lord and master. The System in their humanoid form, cloaked in white, impenetrable form thundered angrily, their patience wearing thin. They squeezed their palms, causing a mountain far away from them, yet so close to their line of sight to implode, pressure bursting with lava. They eased their tension, their anger now reduced. They flickered their fingers, an array of codes glowing on a fluorescent interface, its character fonts lined in Neon light. [ Rejected ]" An automated voice beeped, they threw a fist in destruction… another lightning strike. "What manner of a creation is she? She keeps rejecting it subconsciously." They wondered. They frowned, the sudden chill in the air catching their attention. They turned, facing the mental projection of The One Beyond All who had a wicked smile on their face. "I told you she is untouchable." They spoke. "You have proved you
I can't take this anymore.
He continued the kiss, a warm, passionate zeal growing in his heart. He then pulled away, noticing she wasn't reacting eagerly. "How are you alive?" He asked. She didn't say a word. She only stared. It was then he felt something was wrong. An illusion? A shape shifting monster? He couldn't tell. All he knew was something was different about her. Before he could utter a word or make a move, he felt something hit his side, throwing him on the floor. He turned around, shocked by the sight of Historia. "Queen Historia?" He asked, shock still in him. She didn't say a word at first, she only walked towards him, stopping as she got to him. He kept a hand on his sword's handle, prepared for a duel should in case one happened. "Well, Zeddicus. I must say you are quite the traitor." She spoke, a menacing smirk on her face. He frowned. He wondered, "What in the world is she talking about?" "You see, Meralda. This is the problem, he doesn't want to admit it. He pretends he never did it."
Tragedy, yet more tragedy.
Audrey rose slowly, the wind breezing coldly against her skin. She had an aura of immeasurable power… an attribute just improved by the system. The system wasn't there in its humanoid form, but the interface was fixated upon her gaze, preparing to welcome her into the world. Its neon blue light dimming as she fully stood. She held herself, gaining a bit of balance as her eyes landed on the interface before her. "The hell?" She wondered, confusion washing over her. She had no idea how modern technology worked, but she felt the need to do something. It could be another hallucination, another nightmare that would upset her.She stepped forward, the interface grew near. She stopped, reaching to it. Her fingers glided smoothly, although with a slight frictional grind as her fingers felt the interface. It flickered slightly, momentary static flashing on then off the interface. She drew her arm back, amused by this technological feat. Suddenly, the system relayed. " [ Welcome back, Aud
Level 50: The Rumble
"What's the deal? I'm all ears." "Good one, boy. Now we're talking business. Real business." The system replied, having an excited look. David rose in the air, his breath echoing through the cosmic bubble. The system waved, warning him, "David. Don't think about doing anything stupid. My fondness for you can become wrath in a flash." They yelled. He cowered slightly, holding his arms in the air, indicating his understanding of the situation."You're the boss." He said, then dropped his arms. "Good, now get down." They instructed, and he complied. "So, what's the deal?" He questioned, tired by the suspense he was kept in. The system chuckled, pacing away from David to the end of the bubble. The darkness surrounding it cleared, revealing Ladus in the state it was hours ago. Beautiful, flourishing and safe. David saw Colleen and Audrey discuss while on their way home. The latter seemed undisturbed by anything, and it didn't seem like she had just woken up from a month long coma. H
You're just a monster.
After what seemed like moments of waiting, they stepped forward, stripping themselves of their cloak. David's eyes widened with shock. He was seeing the unexpected… a ghost. He almost dropped his sword in surprise and eased his battle stance. "Y…you. How the fuck are you alive?" He questioned, his face suddenly reddening with anger. The figure's rugged breath slowed down and they coughed, crackling their knuckles slowly. "You don't get to act silent around me." David spoke again, the rising anger in his voice was evident. Finally, they spoke, "David Hart. It has been a while.""Yeah, no shit Syrus. The last time as I recalled, I killed you. Why am I even asking these stupid questions. Obviously you were fucking resurrected by the system." He groaned. "I have waited for so long… David, although that moment of wait was merely a flash in time for me." Syrus responded. "You should have stayed Dead… Syrus." He warned, holding his sword tightly. "Well, I am dead…boy. What more can y
You're just as bad as them
"Now you beautiful Codes. Let's cheer our champion as he awaits his next challenger." The system announced, then lowered themself towards David."Oh David, it's just about to get hard, very fucking hard." They whispered. "I've never backed down from a challenge, why do you think this will be different?" He asked with a smirk. "The confidence. Save it for when you are out of moves." They quipped back, then teleported to their high platform. He stood, awaiting his next opponent with his sword held tightly in his grip. Suddenly, the ground stirred. He tumbled, feeling the asphalt grinding against him. He quickly levitated, watching as the battle arena shifted from a smooth, asphalt road to the rocky terrains of a mountain. In that moment, he frowned. An opponent so familiar loomed. One of his earliest adversaries. A stream of rune symbols burst forth, spraying around the arena, littering the air with light blue sparks, complemented with the dark fog that followed suit. Having fough
