"Do you think Ryder would let the Brown family off?" Selena questioned as she walked out of the auction venue with Henry who had his hands behind his back, seemingly deep in thought. Henry paused for a moment, stared at Selena and then turned away, "I don't think I can answer that," "Besides, Ryder is intelligent, so I'm sure he must have understood the kind of power at play," Henry added, stroking his beardless chin. "Are you sure about that?" Selena chuckled, finally stopping by the car, waiting for Ryder to come out of the auction hall. "Well, I can't say if he would go against them in the future once he has enough power. But for now, he'll have no other choice but to swallow it, no matter how annoyed he is." Henry thought for a moment, a glint flashed in his eyes as he said this. Ryder was a wild card. If he was to get to the top, then there would be a massive shake in power. Ryder would certainly be a mad dog that would bite anyone who didn't comply. Well, that was interest

Ryder soon pulled up before his villa, alighting from the car, he rushed to the back, carried Fiona out of the car, and rushed into the house. "You're back," Olivia's voice came as Ryder walked in, placing Fiona on the sofa. "Yeah," Ryder nodded, giving a short reply, at the same time, taking Fiona's pulse. There were bruises on her body, but her face was fine, though other body parts were not fine. The injuries were obvious, and the more Ryder stared at them, the angrier he got. "Olivia, you should go get ready. I'll treat you first, then I'll come back to her," Ryder broke the silence and stood up from where he was sitting, walking into the kitchen. Olivia stared at Ryder for a while and didn't say anything. His voice was off and she could tell he was mad. Glancing over at Fiona who was lying on the bed, her breathing even, she shook her head and stood up. There was no need to get involved. This was Ryder's mess, there was no need to care about it. Ryder, on the other hand,

(The Next Day) Ryder yawned, stretching his body, his eyes flashing open. The heavy rain droplets hitting the roof mercilessly filled his ear, the cold wind ruffled the curtains through the open windows. "No wonder I kept feeling a surge of cold while I was sleeping," Ryder muttered, yawning again, and groggily walking to the open windows, snapping them shut. "Today is a nice day for tea," He muttered under his breath and walked out of his room to prepare tea.. "Good morning," Olivia's voice came when Ryder stepped into the living room. "Morning," Ryder froze, staring at Olivia sitting with a leg on the other, a cup in hand, and watching the TV like she owned the place. Without bothering her, he walked into the kitchen and prepared a cup of tea, then whistled as he walked back into the parlor. Sitting on the sofa, he slowly sipped his tea while he watched the TV. The events of the day before slowly rushed back into his head. "How should I start?" Ryder mused, wondering what he

Ryder arrived at the station after dropping off the car at Jasmine's house. The old man had tried to get him to stay, but he had refused firmly, saying he needed to go to work. The rain had long stopped and everyone was going about their business, trying to catch up since the rain had delayed them quite a bit. Also, Jasmine wanted to tag along, but was stopped by Bruce for some unknown reason. Ryder really didn't care about all of these. As for what the Clinton Family came to do in Orange County, it was absolutely none of his business. This wasn't the first time he thought about this, and wouldn't be the last either. Also, he would go get a car sometime when he had the chance. "Huh?" Ryder froze, seeing the car parked before the station. What were the officers from the Bureau doing here? The Large logo stood there plastered on the car as though someone was going to try to steal it. Not bothering too much, Ryder walked into the station, but froze once again. Inside the station

[Ding: Intermediate Level Unlocked] [Installing the necessary Purifier Skills of the intermediate Level To the Host] Next, a screen appeared before Ryder showing an upload bar that ran slowly from one to a hundred. The next moment, a wave of information rushed into Rdyer's mind. The process was seamless and there was not even a single pain. But the System's mechanical voice continued before Ryder could think about surfing through the information. [Host now has access to the new features of the System. The host could check it out later.] [Host has received Mystery Potion] [Good Luck to The Host in Purging The Universe of Criminals] The mechanical voice in Ryder's head finally cooled down. "Now, you can all return to your duties," Tim's voice sounded, pulling Ryder back to his senses. "Ryder, come with me, I need to hand over to you and tell you what you need to do," Tim turned to Ryder, then walked towards his office. Ryder nodded and followed Tim to his office while the othe

"Ryder, how are you? Hope you're all good?" Avery's voice came from the other end of the phone. "I'm good sis," Ryder sighed, remembering it's been a while since he saw his sister. Well, before he would see her every two to three days since they almost ran into each other every day. But the past week, he had not seen her even once. Well, he was the one avoiding her since he would have to answer her about the Medical knowledge. And he didn't know what to say yet, so he avoided going to her place. Apart from that, he had been genuinely busy, so no way it could have happened. "Ryder, how's your health? I hope you don't involve yourself in any dangerous thing again." Avery's worried voice came from the other end of the phone. Though she knew Ryder's job was dangerous, she still hoped he wouldn't actively put himself in a compromising position. "I'm fine sis," Ryder responded, smiling gently. He could tell how worried his sister was just by her voice. "Sister, I have something to te

"Finally, it's time to leave," Ryder muttered, standing up from the chair, preparing to leave the station. It was already evening. The sun had set and the night was crawling its way in just like it had done the previous days. Though the station worked for twenty-four hours seven times a day. As the chief, he could leave and come back anytime he wanted. As for the others, some worked night shift, and all. He had also done the night shift some times in the years, he was most relieved to be leaving now. There was a whole lot to be done. And he had stacks of documents on his desk. As for the cases, he didn't even take a single look at them. He was going to get annoyed and that might ruin his day. Ignoring them didn't mean he was not going to go back to them. He would still go through them, but then, he would need a reason to. Pushing the matters to the back of his mind, Ryder walked out of his office, his colleague greeting him as though he had been chief for years. Seeing this, R

"Be careful while driving home," Avery waved, watching Jasmine and Ryder get into the car after what seemed like a long night. "Understood, sister," Ryder nodded, starting the car, stepping on the accelerator, and he drove off almost immediately. Avery sighed as she watched the car disappear into the distance. It was not until she was sure the cat was gone that she walked back into the house. Ryder and Jasmine, on the other hand, headed straight to Ryder's villa. At first, Ryder decided to take her home, but Jasmine claimed she had already told her grandfather she would be spending the night at his place, so there was no need to worry. At first, Ryder was skeptical, but in the end, he had no other choice but to believe, and they headed home. Minutes later, Ryder pulled up before the Villa. Alighting from the car with Jasmine, he whistled slowly as he walked towards the door. "Brother, elder sister told me you found the girl you were looking for," Jasmine broke the silence,

Ryder walked back to the living room only to see Fiona and Jasmine chatting and laughing as though they had known each other for ages. Seeing this, he shook his head and didn't say anything. Well, this was what he wanted in the first place, he wanted them to get along, not to become enemies. Though he wasn't expecting it to be this seamless, there was nothing to worry about since it was already seamless. Shaking his head, he cleared his throat and called Fiona. "Brother, you called me," Fiona hurried to Ryder who was standing just a few meters away. "Have you eaten?" Ryder asked after thinking for a while. He knew Fiona might not have eaten anything after all, she was just too shy. "Yes, I have," Fiona answered, "Sister Olivia cooked for me after I woke up," She added. "That's quite thoughtful of her," Ryder nodded, then turned around, preparing to leave. "Come with me to take a quilt for her,". Fiona nodded and followed Ryder to his room. Jasmine, who was left behind, also

(The Next Day) "Aren't you going to come with us?" Ryder broke the silence, looking at Olivia watching the TV with a toothpick in her mouth. "Nah, you guys can go out alone, I don't fancy that," Olivia refused, her eyes not leaving the screen. "Alright then," Ryder shrugged, turning away, walking out of the house with Jasmine and Fiona. "So brother, where are we heading to?" Jasmine asked the moment they got into the car. "I'll take Fiona to get some clothes first, then, there's a company I need to go check out," Ryder answered, stepping on the gas pedal, speeding away. "What company is that?" Jasmine asked, curiosity written all over her face. Fiona, on the other hand, just listened and didn't say anything, watching the two interact. "GlowGetter Cosmetics," Ryder thought for a moment, trying to remember the name of the company the system gave him. "A cosmetic company?" Jasmine frowned slightly, stroking her chin. "Why haven't I heard of it," She muttered, a thin line running
